Annealing Effect on $SnO_2$ Thin Films Properties ($SnO_2$ 박막 특성에 미치는 annealing 효과)

  • Tin dioxide thin films were deposited at $375^{\circ}C$ on alumina substrate by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition process to find the relationship between physicochemical properties and the annealing treatments. The small grains with heat treatments grew to the bunch of grains and then showed the hillocks on the film surface. The thickness decreased with annealing treatment. The measured binding energy (BE) and branching ratio of the Sn 3d spin-orbital doublet were typical of oxidized states of Sn and the BE of the O1s core level of about 530~530.65eV also confirmed the presence of O-Sn bonds. The BE of oxygen and tin with annealing treatment shifted to higher position. O/Sn atomic ratios of films deposited at $375^{\circ}C$ for 2min and 4min were 1.99 and 2.01, respectively. The value of the atomic ratio O/Sn of films deposited at $375^{\circ}C$ for 2min changed from 1.99 to 2.45 with annealing treatment. Gas sensitivity depended on annealing temperature, the sensitivity increased with increasing annealing temperature.

Heat Transfer Enhancement by Fins in a Latent Heat Storage System Using Phase Change Material (상변화물질을 이용한 축열시스템에서 핀에 의한 열전달 촉진 연구)

  • Heat transfer characteristics of low temperature latent heat storage systems have been examined for the circular finned and unfinned tubes using Na$_2$B$_4$O$\_$7/10H$_2$O as a phase change material. In order to reduce the supercooling of PCM, 3 wt% of Na$_2$B$_4$O$\_$7/10H$_2$O was added as the nucleating agent and 2.2 wt% of acrylic acid sodium sulfate was used as the thickener. The heat storage vessel has dimension of 530 mm height, 74 mm 1.D. and inner heat transfer tube is 480 mm height and 13.5 mm O.D. Water was employed as the heat transfer fluid. During the heat recovery experiment, the heat recovery rate was affected by the flow rates and inlet temperature of heat transfer fluid. The enhancement of heat transfer by fins over the unfinned tube system was found to be negligible in the thin finned tube systems, whereas the heat transfer coefficient in the thick finned tube system is approximately 60% higher than that in the unfinned lobe system. The experimentally determined heat transfer coefficient for the unfinned tube and thick finned tube systems are 150-260 W/㎡$^{\circ}C$ and 230-530 W/㎡$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The fin efficiency based on the heat transfer coefficient and area increased by fins was found to be 0.05 and 0.26 for the thin and the thick finned tube systems.

  • Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1A2 gene polymorphisms are thought to be involved in the metabolism of theophylline (TP). We aimed to investigate the effect of CYP1A2*1C, CYP1A2*1D, CYP1A2*1E, and CYP1A2*1F polymorphisms of the CYP1A2 on TP metabolism by PCR-RFLP in 100 Turkish patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) receiving TP. One hundred and one healthy volunteers were included as control group. The genotype frequencies of the CYP1A2*1D and CYP1A2*1F were found to be significantly different in the patients compared to the controls. The "T" allele at -2467 delT and the "C" allele at -163 C > A in the CYP1A2 displayed association with a significantly increased risk for COPD. "T" allele at -2467 delT was also associated with a high risk of disease severity in COPD. In conclusion, our data suggest that genetic alterations in CYP1A2 may play a role both in the pharmacogenetics of TP and in the development of COPD.

  • The early stage of 3D anthropometry data has been used to obtain qualitative rather than quantitative information. However recent 3D body scanners as a common research tool for anthropormatric measurments have made it possible to obtain body surface data of sufficient resolution and accuracy. The purpose of this study is finally to develop motorcycle jacket for enhanced comfort and fit, to test the accuracy and reliability of 3D measurments of motorcycle riding posture, and to analyze the change in 20's adult male's body surface measurements between the standard anthropometric position and motorcycle riding posture. The results of this study were as follows: There were no significant differences between the study and Size Korea measurments in total traditional measuring items and most of measuring items, such as length, circumference antropometric items and interscye items though not waist back length and upper arm circumference. A comparison of 3D body surface measurments in the two different measuring postures, the bodysurface measurments such as waist front length, biacromion length, front interscye, arm length, underarm length in the motorcycle riding posture decreased than that in basic posture, whereas waist back length, back interscye, C.T.W length increased. The body surface measurments such as chest, bust, upper circumference in the motorcycle riding posture decreased than that in basic posture, whereas neck, waist, hip, elbow circumference increased.

A Study on the Fracture Toughness of Al-Si-Cu-Mg Cast Alloy (주조용(鑄造用) Al-Si-Cu-Mg계(系) 합금(合金)의 파괴인성(破壞靭性)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • In order to determine the plane strain fracture toughness of Al-Si-Cu-Mg alloy castings, solution heat treatments have been conducted at $530^{\circ}C$ for 8hr and aged for 10hr at $145^{\circ}C$, $160^{\circ}C$ and $175^{\circ}C$. Effects of aging treatment and of Si contents on the fracture toughness have been investigated by a three point loaded bend test, using the artificial notch. The results obtained are as follows; 1) The fracture toughness is appreciably affected by the aging treatment temperature and Si contents. The specimen aged for 10hr at $145^{\circ}C$ has the highest fracture toughness. 2) Increasing Si contents from 5% to 9% results in decrease of fracture toughness. 3) Increasing the aging temperature and Si contents, C.O.D. value was decreased. The specimen aged for 10hr at $145^{\circ}C$ has the highest C.O.D. value. 4) Dimple patterns were observed in the specimens of containing under 7% Si, while mixed cleavage-dimple patterns in those of over 8% Si.

  • Two aromatic polysulfones, poly(PhC-co-SDA)-2 and poly(TPhC-co-SDA)-2, were synthesized by interfacial polycondensation of phthaoyl chloride(PhC) and terephthaloyl chloride(TPhC) with P, P'-sulfonyldianiline(SDA), respectively. The properties of the aromatic polysulfones synthesized were as follows : inherent viscosity, $0.32{\sim}0.35dL/g$:glass transition temperature, $220{\sim}240^{\circ}C$:tensile strength, $308{\sim}336Kg/cm^2$:and 5% weight loss temperature by TGA thermogram in the air, $500{\sim}530^{\circ}C$. As the result, thermal properties of the synthesized copolymers proved to be excellent.

  • Polyvinylidene fluoride( : PVDF) has piezoelectric and pyroelectric. The ${\beta}-PVDF$ manufactured by induced-electric field. In accordance to increasing induced-electric field, the 530 $cm^{-1}$ peak decrease, whereas $510cm^{-1}$ peak increase. The dielectric constant of PVDF thin film is 6.8 and 10 MV/m induced-PVDF thin film is 9.4. The dielectric relaxation characteristic of PVDF thin films correspond to Debye's theory.

형상에 따른 초전도 튜브의 전기적 특성변화

  • High-temperature Superconductor(HTS) tubes were fabricated in term of different diameter, length and thickness by centrigugal forming method. For powder melting by induction the optimum range of melting temperatures and preheating temperature were $1050^{\circ}C{\sim}1100^{\circ}C\;amd\;550^{\circ}C$ for 30min, respectively. The mould renting speed was 1000rpm. A tube was annealed at $840^{\circ}C$ for 72hours in oxygen atmosphere. The plate-like grains were well developed along the renting direction and typical grain size was about more than $40{\mu}m$. It was found that Ic values increased with increasing the tube diameter while the Ic decreased with increasing tube thickness. Also Ic decreased with increasing the tube length. The measured Ic in $50mm{\times}70mm{\times}25mm$ tube was about 896Amp.

The Crystal and Molecular Structure of Dipropargyldiphenylmethane (디프로파질디페닐메탄의 결정 및 분자구조)

  • Dipropargyldiphenylmetane, $C_{19}H_{16}, crystallizes in a monoclinic space group $C2/_c$$ with a = 11304(3), b = 20.799(5), c = 6.622(2)${\AA}$, ${\beta} = 112.8(3)^{\circ}$, Z = 4, V = 1435.3${\AA}^3,\;F(000)\;=\;520,\;D_c\;=\;1.14g{\cdot}cm^{-3}$ and ${\mu}\;=\;0.32\;cm^{-1}$. The structure was solved by direct methods and all non-H atoms were identified in the E-map. The final refinement gave R = 0.055 from 1328 unique observed reflections with I $\geq$ -1.0 $\sigma(I).$ The molecule belongs to the point group $C_2$ of Symmetry by possessing the 2-fold axis which coincides witeh the crystallographic symmetry axis in the unit cell. The linear propargyl moiety is nearly $perpendicular(94.2)^{\circ}$ to the molecular plane of the benzene ring. The internal angle of methane carbon atoms in $108.1(1)^{\circ}$, bonding to the benzene and the propargyl moiety with the bond lengths of 1.530(2) and $1.560(2)\AA$, respectively. The shortest contant between the molecules is $3.538(2)\AA$ between C(9) and C(9) (-x, y, -1/2-z).
