  • Previously, it was reported that the nonhomologous C-terminal regions of the D-hydantoinases are nonessential for catalysis, but affect the oligomeric structure of the enzyme [3]. In an effort to further confirm the above observation, the C-terminal region-inserted enzyme was constructed by attaching a peptide (22 residues) at the C-terminal of the D-hydantoinase from Bacillus thermocatenulatus GH2, and its structural and biochemical properties were compared with both the wild-type and C-terminal region-truncated enzymes. As a result, native tetrameric D-hydantoinase was dimerized as the truncated enzyme, and the inserted mutant with a new sequence was expressed as a catalytically active form in E. coli. Expression level of the inserted and truncated enzymes were found to be significantly increased compared to the level of the wild-type enzyme, and this appears to be due to the reduced toxic effect of the mutant enzymes on host cells. Dimerized enzymes exhibited increased thermo- and pH stabilities considerably when compared with the corresponding wild-type enzyme. Comparison of the substrate specificity between the mutant and wild-type enzymes suggests that the substrate specificity of the D-hydantoinase is closely linked with the oligomeric structure.

  • If ${\psi}$ is analytic on the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ and ${\varphi}$ is an analytic self-map of $\mathbb{D}$, the weighted composition operator $C_{{\psi},{\varphi}}$ is defined by $C_{{\psi},{\varphi}}f(z)={\psi}(z)f({\varphi}(z))$, when f is analytic on $\mathbb{D}$. In this paper, we study normal, cohyponormal, hyponormal and normaloid weighted composition operators on the Hardy and weighted Bergman spaces. First, for some weighted Hardy spaces $H^2({\beta})$, we prove that if $C_{{\psi},{\varphi}}$ is cohyponormal on $H^2({\beta})$, then ${\psi}$ never vanishes on $\mathbb{D}$ and ${\varphi}$ is univalent, when ${\psi}{\not\equiv}0$ and ${\varphi}$ is not a constant function. Moreover, for ${\psi}=K_a$, where |a| < 1, we investigate normal, cohyponormal and hyponormal weighted composition operators $C_{{\psi},{\varphi}}$. After that, for ${\varphi}$ which is a hyperbolic or parabolic automorphism, we characterize all normal weighted composition operators $C_{{\psi},{\varphi}}$, when ${\psi}{\not\equiv}0$ and ${\psi}$ is analytic on $\bar{\mathbb{D}}$. Finally, we find all normal weighted composition operators which are bounded below.

  • In industry, A pallet truck is drived mainly by d.c motor, because it use to battery for input power. However, d.c motor has a brush, this is the disadvantage of the d.c motor for a pallet truck. Though a brushless d.c motor has a permanent magnet, it is for low torque. Switched reluctance motors(SRM) have the advantage a high torque/weight ratio, as the large reluctance torque is made by salient poles of both start and rotor, and a high reliability, this paper design the shape of the switched reluctance motor that will replace a d.c motor for A pallet truck. First of all, designed parameter of SRM, outer diameter, diameter of rotor and stock length, from the outputr equation considering electric loading and magnetic loading. Next, design diameter of stator and rotor, depth of slot pole width, air gap as inner size of motor. The design of SRM certify the torque, the efficiency and the output power by a simulation.

  • The Pseudorabies (PR), also called Aujeszky's disease (AD), is an infectious viral disease caused by an alpha herpes virus and has domestic and wild pigs, as well as a wide range of domestic and wild animals, as the natural host. Pseudorabies virus (PRV) virions contain several envelope glycoproteins. Among them, gB, gC and gD are regarded as the major immunogenic proteins. We expressed these glycoproteins using the bacterial expression system and analyzed recombinant proteins. Expression of glycoproteins gC and gD were observed on SDS-PAGE or Western blot analysis, but gB was not. Optimal concentration of IPTG and inducing time were determined as 1.0 mM and 4 h, respectively, for the expression of both gC and gD in E. coli. A sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was the most efficient detergent in solubilizing insoluble recombinant protein.

  • On the combination of antacid, the pharmacokinetics and gastric adhesion of $\^$14/C-aceglutamide aluminum complex($\^$14/C-AGA) were examined in rats. Specially, This study was focused on the drug interaction that the coadministration of antacid may affect the oral absorption and gastric adhesion of aceglutamide aluminum complex(AGA). After the oral administration of $\^$14/C-AGA and antacid to rats, the radioactivity of plasma and urinary recovery was lower than that of $\^$14/C-AGA administered group. Relatively, the cumulative recovery of radioactivity in feces was increased significantly. The comparative bioavailability of $\^$14/C-AGA from the plasma concentration-time curve and urinary recovery was about 60%. in vitro, the effect of antacid in the gastric adhesion of AGA was not significantly different between AGA and AGA/antacid treatment. And it accorded well with the result of in vivo experiment. In conclusion, on the combination of antacid, the oral absorption of AGA was decreased but the gastric adhesion was not affected in respect of drug interaction.

  • An atrium has great potential in natural ventilation aided by buoyance effect. Architectural design of an atrium is very critical to maximize the effect. However, it is not easy of an atrium to have optimum shape for natural ventilation, from the aesthetic and economic point of view. Admitting this condition, we suggested a strategy to promote natural ventilation, which can be adopted only with small design change. At first, we installed BIPV on the top of an atrium to strengthen buoyancy effect, and combine forced ventilation by low pressure fan. To evaluate the performance of the measure, CFD simulation and Energy-Airflow analysis were achieved.

  • Porcine pseudorabies virus (PRV) causes the Aujeszky's disease (AD) which is economically important disease in the swine industry worldwide. Killed or live vaccines have been used to control this disease, but their efficacy and side effects remain problems to be solved. To solve these problems, in this study, production of recombinant PRV glycoprotein gB, gC and gD was investigated in insect expression system. Glycoprotein gB, gC and gD are regarded as the major immunogenic antigens in PRV. Abundant production and immunogenicity of glycoprotein gB, gC and gD were confirmed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis, respectively. Optimal infection dose and time were also determined for the production of each recombinant PRV glycoprotein. Confirmation of glycosylation of recombinant gB, gC and gD suggested their usefulness as antigens for the development of diagnosis kit or vaccines for Aujeszky's disease.

  • This study aimed to find out the effect of vitamins on respiratory-related viral infections, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), through the literature reviews. From January 2000 to June 2021, the studies (cohort studies, cross-sectional studies, case-control studies, randomized control trials) related to vitamins (vitamin A, D, E, C, B6, folate, and B12) and COVID-19/severe acute respiratory syndrome/Middle East respiratory syndrome/cold/influenza were selected from the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane libraries and analyzed. The relationship between vitamins and virus-related respiratory diseases was identified. Through the review, 39 studies were selected on vitamin D, one study on vitamin E, 11 studies on vitamin C, and 3 studies on folate. Regarding COVID-19, 18 studies on vitamin D, 4 studies on vitamin C, and 2 studies on folate showed significant effects of the intake of these nutrients in preventing COVID-19. Regarding colds and influenza, 3 studies on vitamin D, 1 study on vitamin E, 3 studies on vitamin C, and 1 study on folate demonstrated that the intake of these nutrients significantly prevents these diseases. Therefore, this review suggested the intake of vitamins D, E, C, and folate is important for preventing respiratory diseases related to viruses, such as COVID-19, colds, and influenza. The relationship between these nutrients and virus-related respiratory diseases should be continuously monitored in the future.
