천연가스 액화를 위한 캐스케이드 냉동사이클의 전산모사에 대한 연구 [2]: 다단 캐스케이드 냉동 사이클에 적용 (A Simulation Study on the Cascade Refrigeration Cycle for the Liquefaction of the Natural Gas [2]: An Application to the Multistage Cascade Refrigeration Cycle)

  • 본 논문에서는 천연가스를 액화시키기 위해서 프로판, 에틸렌 및 메탄 냉매를 이용한 다단 캐스케이드 냉동사이클에 대한 전산모사를 PRO/II with PROVISION 8.3에 내장되어 있는 Peng-Robinson 상태방정식을 활용하여 수행하였다. 천연가스의 조성은 한국가스공사로부터 제공받은 것을 적용하였으며, 유량은 연간 500만톤으로 가정하였다. 프로판 냉매의 공급온도는 $-40^{\circ}C$로, 에틸렌 냉매의 공급온도는 $-95^{\circ}C$로 메탄 냉매의 공급온도는 $-155^{\circ}C$로 각각 정하였으며, 천연가스와 각각의 냉매의 최소 접근온도는 $3^{\circ}C$로 정하였다. 다단 냉동을 위한 프로판 냉동 사이클은 3단 냉동을 가정하였으며, 에틸렌 냉동 사이클은 2단 냉동을 그리고 메탄 냉동 사이클은 3단 냉동을 가정하였다. 메탄 냉매에 의해서 $-152^{\circ}C$까지 냉각된 천연가스는 줄-톰슨 팽창에 의해서 $-162^{\circ}C$까지 냉각되어 액화가 일어나도록 하였다. 결론적으로 캐스케이드 냉동 사이클과 줄-톰슨 팽창을 통한 천연가스의 액화율은 몰 비로 91.71%이며, 액화천연가스 1.0 kg/hr당 0.433 kW의 압축 일이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The increased environmental concerns and the emphasis on recycling are gradually shifting the orientation of municipal solid waste (MSW) management. This paper is designed to evaluate regionalization programs for MSW management system. We developed a mixed intiger network programming (MIP) model to identify environment-friendly, cost-effective expansion plans for regionalization scenarios considered. The MIP model is a dynamic capacity expansion model based on the network flow model that depicts the MSW management cycle. In particular, our model is designed to determine the optimal form of regionalization using binary variables. We apply this model to assess the regionalization program of Seoul Metropolitan City, which includes three scenarios such as 1) districting, 2) regionalization with neighboring self-governing districts, and 3) g1obalization with all districts. We demonstrate how our model can be used to plan the MSW system. The results indicate that optimal regionalization with nearby self-governing districts can eliminate unnecessary landfills and expansions if jurisdictional obstacles are removed.

선박용 디젤엔진의 배기가스에 적용된 3 변 사이클의 열역학적 분석 (Thermodynamic Analysis of Trilateral Cycle Applied to Exhaust Gas of Marine Diesel Engine)

  • 선박의 주 추진용 디젤엔진에서 배출되는 배기가스의 폐열을 회수하는 발전시스템에 대하여, 작동유체로서 물이 적용된 3 변 사이클에 대한 열역학적 특성을 이론적으로 조사하였다. 그 결과로, 하나의 열원이 주어지면, 에너지 및 엑서지 효율은 터빈입구에서 작동유체에 대한 압력 및 온도의 특정한 조건에 의하여 최대화될 수 있었다. 그러한 조건에 대하여 응축온도의 증가에 따라, 터빈의 체적 팽창비를 적절하게 감소시킬 수 있었는데, 열원의 엑서지 손실률 및 응축기에서 엑서지 파괴율이 크게 증가되었다. 따라서, 상부 사이클에서 버려지는 엑서지를 회수하기 위하여, 저온 열원에 적합한 유기랭킨사이클을 하부 사이클로 적용하는 복합 사이클이 유용할 수 있다.

  • For reduction of $CO_2$ emission emitted from combustion engine, the developed nations have been focused on R&D of hybrid electric vehicle. Further more, many automobile companies are researching on various techniques related to engine used in HEV to enhance fuel economy. One of key techniques is miller cycle that control a valve timing to reduce compression stroke for saving energy and increase expansion stroke for high power. In this study, it was investigated the in-cylinder flow characteristics of miller cycle with variable intake valve timing by using the ANSYS simulation code. For simulation, the key analytic parameter defined as intake valve closing timing and cam profile. As main results, it was shown that LIVC cause a lower pressure inside cylinder and had better control turbulence intensity.

  • Nowadays, the discharges of urban streams during dry season are depleted because the hydrologic cycle in the watershed has been destroyed due to the expansion of the impermeable area, the excessive groundwater pumping, climate change, and so forth. The streamflow depletion may bring out severe water quality problems. This research are to investigate the hydrologic characteristics and to develop a technology to restore sound hydrologic cycle of Anyangcheon watershed. For the hydrological cycle analysis of the Anyangcheon watershed, continuous simulations of urban runoff were performed for the upstream basin of Gocheok bridge whose basin area covered 4/5 of the whole catchment area. The increase of impervious area by urbanization was analysed and its effect on urban runoff was evaluated. The SWMM 5 (Storm Water Management Model 5) was used for the continuous simulation of urban runoff. The analysis results of urbanization effect on runoff are as follows: the surface runoff in 2000 increases to 65% of the whole precipitation whereas the surface runoff in 1975 amounts to 50% of the precipitation; the groundwater runoff in 2000 amounts to 7% and shows 6% decrease during the period from 1975 to 2000.

오토 사이클 기관의 열역학 제 2법칙적 성능 해석 (The Performance Analysis of Otto Cycle Engine by Thermodynamic Second Law)

  • The thermodynamic second law analysis, which means available energy or exergy analysis, for the indicated performance of Otto cycle engine has been carried out. Each operating process of the engine is simplified and modeled into the thermodynamic cycle. The calculation of the lost work and exergy through each process has been done with the thermodynamic relations and experimental data. The experimental data were measured from the test of single cylinder Otto cycle engine which operated at 2500 rpm, WOT(Wide Open Throttle) and MBT(Minimum advanced spark timing for Best Torque) condition with different fuels: gasoline, methanol and mixture of butane-methanol called M90. Experimental data such as cylinder pressure, air and fuel flow rate, exhaust gas temperature, inlet gas temperature and etc. were used for the analysis. The proposed model and procedure of the analysis are verified through the comparison of the work done in the study with experimental results. The calculated results show that the greatest lost work is generated during combustion process. And the lost work during expansion, exhaust, compression and induction process follows in order.

물 환경 건전화를 위한 도시하천의 물 순환 모의 (II) - 도림천 유역 - (Hydrologic Cycle Simulation of Urban River for Rehabilitation of Water Environment (II) - Dorimcheon Basin -)

  • The hydrologic cycle in urban catchment has been changed due to the expansion of impervious area by rapid urban development. In this study, the SWMM 5 (Storm Water Management Model 5) model was used to simulate the hydrologic cycle of the Dorimcheon catchment which suffers from the distorted hydrologic cycle as a typical urban catchment. This study compare continuous simulation of urban runoff combining the channel and sewer system with that of channel only in the Dorimcheon catchment. Continuous simulations of urban runoff were performed for the upstream basin of Dorim bridge. The urban impervious regions were processed by the land use analysis from LANDSAT_TM images. It was performed from 1975 to 2000 for every five years. Surface, groundwater and wastewater runoffs were additionally included in the simulations one at a time. Such simulations made it possible to evaluate those components quantitatively. The result of continuous simulation of urban runoff combining the channel and sewer system is that peak flow and recession are well simulated. The analysis results of urbanization effect on runoff are as follows: the surface runoff in 2000 increases to 64% of the whole precipitation whereas the surface runoff in 1975 amounts to 46% of the precipitation; the groundwater runoff in 2000 amounts to 6% and shows 8% decrease during the period from 1975 to 2000.

PVAJT 모션플래너를 이용한 Cubic Spline 보간기의 설계 (Design of Cubic Spline Interpolator using a PVAJT Motion Planner)

  • A cubic spline trajectory planner with arc-length parameter is formulated with estimation by summing up to the 3rd order in Taylor's expansion. The PVAJT motion planning is presented to reduce trajectory calculation time at every cycle time of servo control loop so that it is able to generate cubic spline trajectory in real time. This method can be used to more complex spline trajectory. Several case studies are executed with different values of cycle time and sampling time, and showed the advantages of the PVAJT motion planner. A DSP-based motion controller is designed to implement the PVAJT motion planning.
