Characteristics and Categorization of Fashion Films (패션필름의 유형화에 따른 특성)

  • Unlike the past, when fashion brands adopted unilateral communication with their consumers, the brands today have recognized the importance of bi-lateral communication. This has led to the companies producing fashion films as a means to elicit a consensus in opinion between the brands and the consumers. Such fashion films should be understood as films using fashion that transcends time, and also as a type of fashion media. This study, which is based upon the understanding that fashion films are a part of strategic marketing for enhancing the value of brands, used domestic and international literature in order to define fashion films, and establish a theoretical basis for these films. Corroborative study was also conducted for the purpose of practical categorization. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of fashion films, and to suggest a new approach to the study of fashion films. The study adopted the research methodology used in Dudley Andrew's film theory in order to create a theoretical frame that can be used to categorize fashion films. The theory is of significance because it is the basis for the category of motion picture fashion film and media technology fashion film. The study on the categorization and the characteristics of fashion films based upon 6 sub-categories shows a consistent trend of fashion films. From the results, it can be inferred that the films contribute, in part, to the enhancement of brand value. Fashion films have shown rapid growth with the mixture of other media, and with the introduction of cutting-edge technology. Fashion films can be used as new marketing methods for the fashion brands in this digital age.

A Study on the Yi Mae-Bang's Salpurichum Costume (이매방 살풀이춤[중요무형문화재 제 97호] 복식 연구)

  • It goes without saying that Yi Mae-Bang, as the sole owner of two of the intangible cultural assets including No. 27 Seungmu in 1987 and No. 97 Salpuri Chum, is a top-notch Korean traditional dancer. Moreover, in regards to traditional clothing, he is also known as the only traditional dancer who directly performs on stage as well as analyzes traditional clothing in order to apply them into his own dance performances by designing and producing them to meet his artistic spirit. In order to examine how Yi Mae-Bang's unique and creative stage clothing was developed, and what kind of process it went through to possess its unique style, which draws the attentions of people with its harmony of beauty and dance, this research first examined the change of the composition through the yearly picture data. Before 1984, the composition of the Salpuri Chum clothes changed by putting on 'Jeogori' on the 'Mudong-Bok' without the 'Kweia' (sleeveless), and in 1999 'Mudong-Bok' became widened with the decoration of embroidered hem making it more attractively colorful. after 2000 it became more splendidly adorned by embroidering hem on widened Mudong-Bok and tucking 'Kweja' in the layers which created silhouette like a dress that is seemingly wider and luxuriant than a skirt. One of notable features of Yi Mae-Bang's Salpuri is that its cloth and cuff ribbons are lightly colored in different colors enclosing the tip part. As for the ribbons, it was also changed as time went by from direct-cutting of the cloth just like the A-line of Mudong-Bok to drawing a diagonal line less than 5cm above the ribbon and 8cm below the ribbon so that it takes the form of getting widened as it gets to the lower part, and its length was also elongated in proportion to that of the bottom of Mudong-Bok.

Node Part Development of Vehicle Body with Space Frame Using Design Technology for Additive Manufacturing (적층가공 특화설계기법을 이용한 스페이스 프레임 차체 노드 부품 개발)

  • Recently, design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) technology has become a prominent design methodology for exploiting 3D printing, which leads the Fourth Industrial Revolution. When manufactured by the 3D printing method, it is possible to produce several shapes compared to the conventional casting or cutting process. DfAM-as a newly-proposed design methodology-can be used to specially design products with various shapes to apply functional requirements. Topology optimization verifies load paths to determine the draft design, and a shape-optimized design with objective functions for weight reduction enables efficient lightweight product design. In this study, by using these two DfAM technologies, a lightweight and optimal design is constructed for a node part of a vehicle body with a space frame designed for a lightweight vehicle. DfAM methodologies for concept design and detailed design, and the associated results, are presented. Finally, the product was additively manufactured, a fatigue performance test was performed, and the design reliability was verified.

  • The Advanced countries including Japan, USA and European countries are adopting automatic system(e.g., auto-measurement using CCD camera) for measuring pantograph sliding plate and wheel abrasion to minimize manpower for E.M.U(Electric Multiple Unit) inspection and maintenance as part of management rationalization of railroad Corporation since late 1980's. In Korea, as part of scheme of business rationalization, automatic system for measuring pantograph sliding plate and wheel abrasion started to draw industry attention since late 1990s, and the system started to be installed in newly built depots of Korea Railroad Corporation since 2002. This study hopefully provides the base for realizing business rationalization and applying the advanced technology developed by Korea, the country of powerful IT basis, to overseas railroad organizations by examining automatic system for measuring pantograph sliding plate abrasion using existing CCD cameras produced domestically and in foreign countries to study cases(organizations in Korea) for improvement of measurement, management and inspection of pantograph sliding plate abrasion using CCD cameras with new cutting-edge technology; and by applying the study result to railroad organizations in metropolitan areas in Korea.

Recognition of Machining Features on Prismatic Components (각주형 부품상의 가공 특징형상 인식)

  • As a part of development of process planning system for mold die manufaturing, a software system is developed, which recognizes features and extracts parameters of the shape from design data produced by solid modeller. The recognized feature date is fed to process planning and operation planning system. Low level geometry and topology data from commercial CAD system is transformed to high level machining feature data which used to be done by using a dedicated design system. The recognition algorithm is applied to the design data with boundary representation produced by a core modeller ACIS which has object oriented open architecture and is expected to become a common core modeller of next generation CAD system. The algoritm of recognition has been formulated for 21 features on prismatic components, but the feature set can be expanded by adding rules for the additional features.

  • This study is a part of ???A study of the community noise:new guideline and policy' which have three main topics and ten sub-topics. Accordingly this part deals with a transpotation noise specifying road traffic ,railroad and aircraft noise, respectively. At first, the ,roadside traffic noise of whole country in 2004 ,22 major cities of total 29 was exceeded the envionmetal noise standards, 55dB(A) at night time ,therefore 24 milion people ,52.4% of korean, who reside at roadside estimates to be exposured the basic problems of this serious noise polluation comes from:: i)It's very limited noise mitigation measures against to continuously increase the number of automobile yearly. ii) and at beginning of road design, It has been neglect to introduce the anti-noise design and layout of road structural scheme as gadient,cutting and viaduct,embankment and zonning of roadside land-buffer area and also re-designation of noise sensitive areas,etc. Secondly ,concerned with the railroad trafffic noise, a inhabitants who are over the envionmetal noise limits,70dB(A), 65 dB(A) in day and night for 34 locations of mayor cities was exposured of 167,000 and 329,000 respectively. With the development of noise mitigation schemes in line with this study it is likely that noise monitoring system needs new installation as well as common use of noise assessment index with $L_{MAX}\;and\;L_{EQ}$. Lastly,noise complaints of millitary aircraft has been rapidly increasing ,so 2.9%(1.4 minion) person demands a compansation of \2,133 billion complying with their requirements we suggest to minimise the airport noise that is to develop of noise abatement procedure ,to make new noise index, to increase budget for house insulations and also to more increase of those the noise monitoring system and to unify the management etc.

A Simulation Analysis of R.O.K Navy's Inventory Management Model for Repairable Parts (시뮬레이션을 통한 해군의 복구성 수리부속 재고관리 모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Recent development in science and technology has modernized the weapon systems of ROKN (Republic Of Korea Navy). Although the cost of purchasing, operating, and maintaining the cutting-edge weapon systems has been increased significantly, the national defense expenditure is under a tight budget constraint. In order to maintain the availability of ships with low cost, we need an efficient and scientific method for managing repairable parts. In this study, we propose a simulation model that computes the availability of ship's repairable parts. Our model is based on the METRIC (Multi Echelon Technique Repairable Item Control) model and extends to five sub-models to reflect the realistic situations that arise in the navy, such as planned maintenance, condemnation, lateral transshipment, and cannibalization. We have performed simulations to compute the availability of repairable parts while setting the part-level consistent throughout the five models and carried out two sensitivity analyses. The simulation results show the differences in the part availability in different models. The experiments confirm our claim that ROKN needs an inventory management system that captures the operational characteristics of the navy.

Production of Plug Plantlets for Mass Propagation Using Stem Cuttings of Virus Free Microtubers in Potato (감자 바이러스 무균종묘의 대량생산과 플러그화에 관한 기초 연구)

  • This experiment was carried out to develop the mass propagation system for producing plug plantlets using stem cuttings of virus-tree microtubers in potato. Cocopeat, vermiculite, perlite and peatmoss were combined and used as plug nursery media to find out the best combination suitable for the growth of seedlings derived from microtubers. Seedling growth was favored in high temperature (above 2$0^{\circ}C$) and a long-day photoperiod(above 16 hours) condition, while stolons and microtubers formed in outdoor condition. Shoot and root multiplication was not affected by NAA 10mg /1 or IAA 10mg /1 treatment. At the early growth stage of plug plantlets, the number of leaves and roots and the length of root increased significantly when nodes from the upper (near to apex) part of shoots rather than from basal part were taken. But after transplanting, these differences among these characters were not observed. At ninety days after transplanting the plug plantlets in spring time, plant was around 70 to 80cm in height, and the number of stolons and tubers were ten and seven, respectively.

Dendrochronological Dating for the Gwanghanru Pavilion, Namwon, Korea (남원 광한루 목부재의 연륜연대 분석)

  • In this study, Gwanghanru Pavilion (Namwon-si, Cheonbuk Province) was dated by tree rings of pines (Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc., 'sonamu' in Korean). The present Gwanghanru Pavilion is composed of three parts: main, wing and entrance parts. The main part is known to have been built in 1626 and the entrance hall in 1879, but the date of construction of the wing part is still unknown. We dated a total of 55 wood samples which were replaced during the repair process in 2001~2002. Tree-ring dates indicated that both main and wing parts were built in 1626. Tree rings also revealed that the entrance hall was constructed in 1880~1881, and both main and wing parts were heavily repaired together while appending the entrance hall. In conclusion, dendrochronology, i.e., tree-ring dating, was a useful and accurate method to identify the critical dates-such as the dates of original construction, reconstruction, repairs and extensions-for the history of Korean traditional buildings.

  • In order to improve the fuel economy and dynamic behavior of automobiles, the weight reduction tendency of automobile parts is obvious. Also, in order to maximize assembly and maintenance convenience, various parts are integrated and modularized. Multi-piece methods require many manufacturing processes and become a factor of lowering the strength of parts. It is advantageous to overcome the disadvantages by integrally manufacturing to reduce the processing steps and ensure the strength of the parts. However, when it is necessary to process in a narrow space inside the part, it is impossible to process with the existing spindle. The angle head spindle is only a component of a machine tool, but it is a core part that requires high technology and is highly utilizable in products requiring high precision machining. Therefore, various and continuous studies needs for angle head spindles in areas such as vibration absorption, operational safety, excellent dimensional stability, and strength. In this paper, we propose an optimal design for angle head spindle by performing structural analysis and shape optimization for angle head spindle gear and case.
