Effects of Self-Service Technology Quality on SST Satisfaction and SST Continuance Usage Intention

  • Purpose: According to the growth of technology in the service industry, the interaction service between customer and employee has recently been transformed into between customer and technology by Self Service Technology (SST) requiring direct interaction with customers. In this context, self service technology such as unmanned ordering system installed at the store is actively introduced at the work place to reduce labor costs by food and retail company and the research for self-service technology which is rapidly replacing existing face-to-face service is needed. As the growth speed of SST is rapid, many researchers have studied the characteristics of SST, in every sector of business worldwide. Among the characteristics, attributes, Self Service Technology Quality (SSTQUAL) to evaluate SST is important because it may cause the customer's behavior. Thus, this research focuses on the effects of SSTQUAL on SST Satisfaction and SST continuance usage intention. This research suggests the guidelines for how Restaurant Company should prepare SST and build their customer satisfaction and continuance usage that increase the sales. Research design, data and methodology: This study tests the structural relationship between SSTQUAL of unmanned ordering system, SST satisfaction and SST continuance usage. SSTQUAL divided into four sub-dimensions and two categories, cognitive service attributes (Convenience, Functionality) and affective service attributes (Enjoyment, Assurance). In order to achieve the purposes of this research, research model and hypotheses were developed based on previous researches. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. The data were collected from 524 customers experiencing SST and were analyzed through SPSS 25.0 and SmartPLS 3.0 statistical package program. Results: The findings of this research are as follows. First, all SSTQUAL have significant positive impacts on SST satisfaction. Second, SST satisfaction has significant positive impact on SST continuance intention. Third, cognitive service attributes and affective service attributes had wealth of explanation of service attribute more than a single dimension. Conclusions: The implications of this study are as follows. Overall, Restaurant Company should manage SSTQUAL consisting of not only cognitive service attributes (Convenience, Functionality) but also affective service attributes (Enjoyment, Assurance) to satisfy customers basically regardless of the type of restaurant.

모바일 식품구매 서비스의 지속사용의도에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Factors Affecting the Continuance Intention to Use Mobile Grocery Shopping)

  • Purpose This paper attempts to explain the recent expanding trend in Mobile Grocery Shopping(MGS). More specifically, the authors have applied the Post Acceptance Model(PAM) in order to examine the conceptual structure among the four constructs of 'Expectation Confirmation', 'Perceived Usefulness', 'User Satisfaction', and 'Continuance Intention to Use' in Mobile Grocery Shopping. Design/methodology/approach Through a survey agency, data were collected from a sample of 312 consumers who had the previous experience in Mobile Grocery Shopping. The Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) analysis was conducted with the survey data using AMOS 22.0. Subsequently, 8,200 real customer data from an open market site were collected in order to find out their revisit and repurchase behavior. Findings This study supported the causal relationships of Expectation Confirmation → Perceived Usefulness, Expectation Confirmation → User Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness → User Satisfaction, and User Satisfaction → Continuance Intention to Use, but did not support the direct effect of Perceived Usefulness on the Continuance Intention to Use Mobile Grocery Shopping. This implies that consumers with any experience in Mobile Grocery Shopping would not consider repurchase, unless they are satisfied with the experience even though they perceive its usefulness. Also, Expectation Confirmation has much larger effect on User Satisfaction than Perceived Usefulness. In addition, the real customer data showed that the revisit and the repurchase rate of mobile grocery shoppers were higher than those of online grocery shoppers, although the rates of adding to shopping carts, coupon downloads, and adding to favorites are similar.

  • Ethnocentrism in users plays an important role in predicting user behavior when deciding between imported and domestic goods. The purpose of this study is to look into the influence of ethnocentrism in customer behavior on brand image, perceived value, perceived quality, brand trust, and brand buy intention. Vietnamese customers prefer homegrown brands. The moderate role of consumer ethnocentrism in the conceptual framework emphasizes the country origin of the product is the most important factor. It also demonstrates how the intention of Vietnamese consumers to buy domestic brands is substantially influenced. To test the hypothesis, this article used a quantitative technique utilizing PLS-SEM software. With 917 samples, the study used the quota sampling approach to collect data from students at 10 universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The data suggest that all players have a positive association and that consumer ethnocentrism has a moderate impact in the Vietnamese brand context. Following that, suggestions are made to help Vietnamese firms create and retain their brands in the face of severe competition from global brands in the domestic market. To increase consumer intent in purchasing behavior, the Vietnamese local company needs to establish a strong brand.

  • The objective of this research was to identify the factors that affects the customer's satisfaction and dissatisfaction of theme parks. This research focused on Sunway Lagoon. The reason Sunway Lagoon was selected was because of the vast number of visitors in Sunway Lagoon for the last few years. It enables the researchers to acquire sufficient amount of information to conduct a research. The factors which affects the customers' satisfaction are the behavior of the generation Y; service experience evaluation, perceived price, emotions, and servicescape. The limitation of this research was inadequate time to perform in-depth investigation on the research. The research study implemented qualitative research, thus the interview was used as a data collection. Since Sunway Lagoon was selected as the research setting, the face-to-face interview with 10 participants was conducted in the setting. This research is vital because it enables the organizations to determine factors that influence the customer's satisfaction and future behavioral intentions. As a result, organizations are able to achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction as well as promoting customer loyalty.

A Study on the Customer Attitudes toward the Airport IT Service: Focusing on Handling Process and Acceptance Intention

  • Purpose : In the aviation industry, we will investigate the impact of users' acceptance of technology on their usage behavior and find out the factors that affect their acceptance of technology. We will expand the prior study to find out the impact of the self-service technology of Incheon Airport. Research design, data and methodology : Within the last six months, the survey was conducted on people using self-service technology at Incheon International Airport from July to August 2019. Part 307 of the valid questionnaires were used for this final analysis. The collected data were used to perform frequency, factor, reliability, and multiple regression analyses using the SPSS statistical package. Results : Individual aspects of external variables, service aspects and system aspects have been shown to affect usefulness and perceived ease of use. Also, perceived ease-of-use and usefulness have effects on users' intention to accept technology. Conclusions : The perceived easement and perceived usefulness of Incheon International Airport has been shown to affect self-service users. Increasing the user's self-efficiency and increasing the user's expectations for benefits, convenience, rapid processing, and minimal effort will have a positive meaningful effect on the intention of accepting the technology.

온라인 쇼핑의 새벽배송 서비스품질이 고객만족도와 고객행동(재이용의도)에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Early Morning Delivery Service Quality of Online Shopping on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Behavior (Reuse Intention))

  • 새벽배송은 일반 배송 서비스와는 다른 고유한 특성을 가지고 있다. 이 서비스는 일반적으로 새벽 시간대, 주로 새벽 7시 이전에 제품을 고객에게 배송하는 것을 의미한다. 온라인 새벽배송에는 고객측면에서 다양한 가치를 제공하는 반면 판매자와 온라인 쇼핑몰과 같은 서비스 제공자 측면에서는 극복해야 할 적지 않은 도전과제를 가지고 있다. 새벽배송 시장은 PC기반 온라인 쇼핑과 모바일 쇼핑을 합친 온라인 식품판매에서 성장세가 확대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 확대되어 가는 온라인 쇼핑 새벽배송에 대한 고객만족과 재이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 한다. 온라인 쇼핑 새벽배송 환경을 모형화하기 위해 독립요인을 다음 세 가지 유형으로 분류하였다: 시스템 특성, 제품특성, 그리고 배달특성. 그리고 본 연구에서는 세 가지 독립요인, 고객만족 (매개요인), 그리고 재이용의도 (종속변수)와의 관계를 실증적으로 탐색하여 보았다. 분석결과, 온라인 쇼핑의 새벽배송 서비스품질에 시스템특성과 제품특성이 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었으며, 특히 시스템특성 중에 신뢰성, 편리성, 유용성, 그리고 상호작용, 제품특성 중에는 제품품질, 제품가격, 제품다양성, 제품간편성이 고객만족에 정(+)영향을 주는 것으로 조사되었다. 하지만 배달특성은 고객만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하고 있다는 결과가 나왔다.

호텔이용 경험이 구매의사와 고객행동의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Hotel Using Experience on Customers' Purchase and Behavior Intention)

  • 본 연구에서는 호텔이용 경험이 구매의사와 고객행동의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증분석을 통하여 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 2015년 4월 1일부터 2015년 4월 30일까지 서울시내에 위치한 5성급 호텔인 5곳의 호텔 고객들을 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어졌으며, 총 330부의 설문지를 배포하여 총 306부의 설문지를 표본으로 확보하여 요인분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 호텔이용 경험 요인인 감성적 경험, 물리적 경험, 지속적 경험, 우월적 경험 등이 구매의사에 1% 수준에서, 호텔이용 경험요인이 계속구매의사에 미치는 영향은 감성적 경험, 지속적 경험, 우월적 경험 요인이 구매 계속의사에 1% 수준에서 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 물리적 경험 요인에 있어서는 10% 수준에서 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 호텔이용경험 요인들은 재이용의사, 긍정적 권유의사, 추천의사에 1% 수준에서 유의했고, 고객행동의도가 계속구매의사에 미치는 영향은 추천의사가 구매의사에 미치는 영향은 5% 수준에서, 재이용의사와 긍정적 권유는 계속구매의사에 10% 수준에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 호텔기업은 호텔-고객 간의 상호관계적 브랜드 인지도를 구축하여 고객이용 충성도를 지속적으로 높여야 할 것이다.

패스트푸드 키오스크 영양정보의 투명성과 정보품질이 고객 행동에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Ordering Kiosk Nutrition Information Transparency and Information Quality on the Customer Behavioral Intention in Fast Food Restaurants)

  • This study examined the perception and behavior of fast food restaurant customers toward ordering kiosk nutrition information. Specifically, the influence of nutrition information transparency and information quality on behavioral intention and revisit intention were identified. In addition, the difference in the nutrition information transparency and information quality was analyzed according to the health consciousness of the customers. The study employed a self-administered survey that was distributed both online and offline from November 8~22, 2018. The sample of the study was customers who had experienced ordering from the kiosk in a fast food restaurant in the six months prior to taking the survey. A total of 250 (98.0%) respondents completed the survey, which was used for data analysis. As a result, there was a significant relation between transparency and nutrition information quality (P<0.001). The higher the visibility and inferability of the nutrition information, the better the nutrition information quality. Nutrition information quality has a significant impact on the levels of customer satisfaction and revisit intention (P<0.001). For the differences in the transparency and nutrition information quality by health consciousness of customers, the results indicated that groups with high health consciousness (3.74 or higher) perceived a higher transparency and nutritional information quality than those with a lower health consciousness. These findings can form the basis of a strategy in developing nutrition information of ordering kiosks in restaurants. In addition, it can be applied to academia and industry.

일식 레스토랑 서비스품질이 고객만족을 매개로 행동의도에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of the Mediator of the Service Quality of Japanese Restaurants to Behavior Intention)

  • 본 연구는 일식레스토랑의 서비스 품질요인과 행동의도(재방문, 추천, 충성도)와의 인과관계를 분석하여 일식레스토랑 경영자들에게 단골고객의 유치 전략의 시사점을 제공하기 위하여 부산지역에 거주하는 외식소비자 250명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하여 실증분석을 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 SPSS 18.0 통계프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, 상관관계분석과 가설검정을 위해서 다중(단순) 회귀분석을 시행하였다. 분석결과, 일식레스토랑의 서비스품질이 고객만족도에 미치는 영향에서 종사원의 서비스가 가장 큰 영향력을 있는 요인으로 분석되었다. 이는 인적서비스가 고객에게 가장 큰 만족을 주는 것으로 해석할 수 있겠다. 일식레스토랑의 고객만족도는 행동의도 즉, 재방문, 추천의도, 충성도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 일식당 서비스품질이 행동의도에 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 요인은 음식의 품질이었고, 가장 낮은 영향력은 물리적 환경인 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 일식레스토랑을 이용하는 외식 소비자들은 음식의 품질이 재방문 및 추천에 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 판단할 수 있겠다. 본 연구를 통해 일식당을 방문하는 고객들은 인지된 서비스품질이 결과적으로 고객만족 및 행동의도에 영향을 준다는 이론적 기반을 검증함으로써, 일식당 경영자들은 높은 수준의 서비스품질을 고객에게 제공하는 것이 영업이익에 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 사실을 고찰하였다. 특히 고객만족에는 종사원의 서비스가 가장 큰 영향력이 큰 것으로 분석되었다.

The Effect of Covid-19 Pandemic on the Adoption of Internet Banking in Indonesia: Islamic Bank and Conventional Bank

  • This study aims to examine the effect of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU), trust (TR), subjective norm (SN), and attitude (AT) on customer's Intention to Adopt Internet Banking (IAIB) at Islamic banks and conventional banks before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research model is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study involves 213 respondents for Islamic banks and 410 respondents for conventional banks from 25 provinces in Indonesia. Data was analyzed using partial least square (PLS) regression with the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The result of data analysis confirms several hypotheses taken from the literature. The results before the Covid-19 pandemic showed that AT and SN influence IAIB in Islamic banks. Whereas in conventional banks, AT, PU, SN, and TR influence IAIB. While during the Covid-19 pandemic, it shows that the AT, PU, IB, SN, and customer TR influence IAIB in Islamic banks and conventional banks. From the analysis, it was found that the PEU variable did not have a significant effect on the intention of customers of Islamic banks and conventional banks to use Internet banking.
