무인 자동차의 코너링에 관한 수학적 모델링 (Mathematical Modeling for Cornering of Unmanned Vehicle)

  • Unmanned vehicles have to decide their velocities suitable for the paths which should be generated by the vehicles themselves, based on the kinematic and dynamic aspects of vehicles. For this purpose, this paper is to propose a mathematical modeling of tuning trace for the cornering of an unmanned vehicle by using normal-tangent coordinates as well as extracting the characteristics of behavior for car drivers in cornering. In the proposed modeling, the limitations of velocity can be determined based on the knowledge that the handling of drivers means the control of radius of curvature. The proposed modeling can reduce computational load and generate turning angles and velocities suitable for the cornering of unmanned vehicles.

  • 구면의 긴 곡률반경을 측정하기 위하여 양방향 층밀리기 간섭계를 이용하는 새로운 방법을 제시하였다. 시준장치의 광원을 미세이동시켜 출사광선의 곡률중심과 시험구면의 초점을 일치시키는 비시준 조명방법을 사용하였으며 양방향 층밀리기 간섭계를 사용하여 시험구면에서 출사한 광선의 시준 여부를 정확히 확인하였다. 이 방법은 렌즈의 긴 초점길이도 측정할 수 있으며 여러가지 변수에 의한 측정정확도를 자세히 분석하였다.

CFD analysis of geometric parameters that affect dean flow in a helical microchannel

  • Due to the presence of Dean flow in curved ducts, helical channels have drawn attention recently because of the practical industrial applications. The manipulation of fluids through microfluidic devices is widely used in many scientific and industrial areas. In the present study, numerical simulations were performed on a helical microchannel to predict the impact of different design parameters that affect Dean flow. Important geometric parameters such as the channel cross section, pitch, radius of curvature, and number of turns were considered for the analysis. The study also incorporates the effect of varying flow rate on Dean flows. It was found from the simulation results that microchannel cross section and pitch have a significant impact on maintaining the Dean flow, compared to the radius of curvature, number of turns, and flow rate.

  • The goal of total disc replacement is to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased functional spinal unit, by replacing the degenerated disc with a mobile bearing prosthesis. SB Charite III is named commercial product as the Artificial Intervertebral Disc (AID). SB Charite III consists of sliding core and endplate made by Ultra-high Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and cobalt chrome alloy, respectively. To evaluate the effect of von-Mises stress in AID, and three-dimensional finite element model of AID analysis was preformed for four different loading types of sliding core. Consequently, endplate was compared with a compressive preload at 400N and flexion moment at $3{\sim}9Nm4. Therefore, this research has obtained result that von-Mises stress of sliding core in AID disc by radius curvature.

  • The objective of this paper is to examine the detection limit, growth characteristics and notch curvature radius in short crack problem. Measurement techniques such as ultrasonic method and back-face strain compliance method were adapted. The fatigue crack growth rate of the short crack is slower than that of a long crack for a notched specimen. The short crack is detected effectively by ultrasonic method. A short surface crack occurs in the middle of specimen thickness and is transient to a through crack when maximum crack depth is larger than the notch curvature radius.

  • We have examined the aspects of the orientational ordering deformation of ferroelectric liquid crystal during bending performance of plastic substrate by analyzing the polarizing optical microscope texture and the birefringence of the cell. Striped texture becomes more prominent as the radius of curvature of substrate gets smaller. The optic axis of the adjacent stripes domain was not same and the relative angle between them becomes larger as the radius of curvature gets smaller. Especially, the optic axis rotation angle of one domain was lager than the other and the liquid crystal molecules in each domain became more coherent. In addition, the birefringence data with obliquely incident light shows the polar direction shift of liquid crystal molecule by bending performance.

  • This paper describes on the basic study for the insulation design of vacuum interrupter using Finite Element Method. For the basic study of insulation design, first, the maximum electric field was calculated on each curvature radius of arc shield and electrode. Second, the maximum electric field was also calculated on applied voltage and end shield with or not. Thus, the maximum electric field calculated have an effect on curvature radius and voltage polarity.

  • 원통좌표계에서의 FD-BPM(finite difference-beam propagation method)을 이용하여 굽은 광도파로의 bending loss를 계산하였다. Bending loss를 최소화하기 위해 trench구조를 적용하였으며 다음의 세가지 측면에서 해석하였다. 1)trench구조가 없을때 곡률반경에 따른 bending loss, 2)폭과 위치가 일정한 trench구조가 있을때 곡률반경과 굴절율차에 따른 bending loss, 3)trench의 위치가 일정할 때 trench의 폭에 따른 bending loss를 계산하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력용 케이블에서 초고압으로 사용되고 있는 가교폴리에틸렌 내부(XLPE)에 침투된 침전극의 곡률반경변화에 따른 XLPE의 전계분포를 경계요소법에 의한 3차원 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 통하여 해석하여, 곡률반경이 작을수록 전계가 집중되는 현상을 확인하였다.
