  • This study aims to identify the core competencies required in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) and to propose curriculum design strategies based on these competencies. The expansion and increasing demand for librarian certification pathways have led to the weakening of professional expertise and growing uncertainty in the job market. In response, this research collected competency-related data from the websites of 16 four-year LIS programs at universities across the country and qualitative data through in-depth interviews with professors from related academic fields and public library managers. The analysis identified five core competencies in LIS: information management and processing, information technology and data utilization, library management and collaboration, user services and communication, and cultural and community understanding. Based on these competencies, the study suggests curriculum design strategies across institutional, practical, and educational dimensions. This research serves as a foundational resource for improving LIS curricula and certification systems and is expected to facilitate collaborative discussions between educators and practitioners in the field.

As a result, on the side of students, ① systematic introduction course in science is not given to them, ② the course is operating without considering students interests and levels, so it causes the problems of developing their potential ability and extension. On the side of teachers, ① they organize the science department based on school's situation and policy. ② they disregard teachers' roles and interests. ③ the science department's program is operating improvisedly rather than systematically, ④ the evaluation is done formally is found out. I have come to know that to manage a desirable science-related extra-curricula activity connected with science needs to have sufficient, detailed materials and experts from outside.

The number of students seeking employment in the IT field is steadily increasing regardless of the major of the student. However, the existing software-related courses offered by universities or private educational institutions are limited. This paper analyzes the existing software curriculum of several major universities for non-IT major students. In addition, in-depth surveys by students at Seoul Theological University is conducted to figure out the demand for the advanced level computer science subjects. Finally, new software education curriculum is proposed to fulfill the needs of non-IT major students and to improve the employment rate of non-IT major students seeking tech companies. The new curriculum will help to cultivate intermediate level IT experts that bridge the gap between advanced level IT experts and primitive level computer technicians.

The self-administered mailing survey was conducted to identify the factor structure of the health education topics and to analyze the conceptual properties with exploratory factor analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis in SPSS 12.0. Results: A total of 31 health education topics were generated from the preliminary survey. The five factors were determined: 'health promotion behavior and management', 'injury and sexual harassment prevention', 'bulling and aggression prevention', 'public regularity and safety perception' and 'smoking and drinking prevention'. The mean score of health education needs was between medium to high and 'public regularity and safety perception' had the highest score of education need. The two-dimensional cooperates were generated for the 31 health education topics and the two dimensional properties which divided the conceptual space were 'disease-injury' for one and 'public/environmental/individual/personal' for the other. Conclusions: Health education curriculum and its textbook should be developed considering teachers' needs and field environments for health education in every school. Therefore developing field-based health education curriculum and the textbooks should be the essential key to realize problem-solving health education for youth in real school fields.
