Analysis of Economical Validity about Offshore Cage Culture for Cod (외해 가두리 대구 양식업 경제적 타당성 분석)

  • This paper was researched on economic feasibility and sensibility of operation to offshore cage culture for cod. Offshore cage culture for cod needs to invest high budget what to construction and operation. And it was required variety methods about analysis of economic feasibility. Therefore, these were studied NPV, B/C and sensitivity for each by assuming a six scenarios considering the product performance according to the size of cod and culturing methods of fingerlings, etc. As a results, even though economy, if efficiency is low, it is a priority need the technical development to promote the feed efficiency to increase economic feasibility and should make efforts to enhance the business economy to strengthen the price competitiveness pricing with high quality products through quality control and brand recognition of cod. It expects to be used as a reference for related research in the future by deriving policy implications based on the method of analysis of the economic feasibility on offshore cage culture for cod.

Biodegradation of 2,4,5-Trichlorophenol Using Cell-Free Culture Broths of Phanerochaete chrysosporium

  • Cell-free culture broth of Phanerochaete chrysosporium has been adopted to biologically degrade 2,4,5-trichlorophenol. Two different medium compositions of nitrogen-sufficient and nitrogen-limited were compared for their distribution of isozymes, activity of lignin peroxidase, and production of oxalate. The two different culture broths were tested for their ability to degrade 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, and the biodegradation efficiency was estimated in terms of the disappearance of 2,4,5-trichlorophenol. The degradation efficiency for the nitrogen-limited culture broth was higher than that of the nitrogen-sufficient culture broth, since the nitrogen-limited culture broth induced lignin peroxidases (LiPs) and manganese peroxidases (MnPs), and contained sufficient oxalate for producing necessary radicals. Finally, the possible mechanism of 2,4,5-CP degradation using the nitrogen-limited culture broth was proposed.

Ventilation Efficiency of Clothing through Openings under an Isothermal Condition (등온 환경하에서 개구부를 통한 의복의 환기 효율)

  • The ventilation efficiency of clothing was investigated by a trace gas method using a manikin wearing an impermeable overall under an isothermal condition, where the ventilation occurred only through the openings by diffusion. The ventilation patterns were different for each part of the body. The ventilation efficiency in the clothing microenvironment of the arm and the leg greatly depended on the distance from each opening when the wrist- or the ankle-opening was opened. When both side of wrist- or ankle-openings were opened to provide the opening area double respectively, the ventilation efficiency did not correspondingly increase twice, as compared one side opened. Even though it as certainly affected by the opening area, the ventilation efficiency was more significantly influenced by the position of openings.

  • With the interest on operational efficiency due to the rapid growth of food material distribution industry and food service industry, the study adopts DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model and examines to measure the technological, pure technical and scale efficiency those companies engaging in the food material distribution and food service business. As a result of analysis, the companies operating integrated business have relatively higher efficiency than those operating only food material distribution or food service companies while the result indicates that three efficiencies don't have significant difference depending on whether affiliated companies or not.   • This study proposes a Bayesian stochastic frontier model that is well-suited to productivity/efficiency analysis particularly using panel data. A unique feature of our proposal is that both production frontier and efficiency are estimable for each individual firm and their linkage to various firm characteristics enriches our understanding of the source of productivity/efficiency. Empirical application of the proposed analysis to Human Capital Corporate Panel data enables identification and quantification of the effects of Human Resource factors on firm efficiency in tandem with those of firm types on production frontier. A comprehensive description of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo estimation procedure is forwarded to facilitate the use of our proposed stochastic frontier analysis.

  • This study examines the association between ownership structure and labor investment efficiency. Specifically, this study investigates whether owner-manager firms, where managers own a large percentage of shares in the firm, involve in more efficient labor investment. Based on the management entrenchment hypothesis, managers are more likely to make labor investment decisions to maximize their private benefits rather than creating value for shareholders, resulting in lower efficiency in labor investment. On the other hand, according to the incentive alignment hypothesis, managers tend to make labor investment decisions that will improve future firm performance as their interests are aligned with those of shareholders. In this situation, owner-manager firms are expected to have higher efficiency in labor investment. Our empirical results show that owner-manager firms engage in more efficient labor investment, which contributes to long-term firm value. This study provides empirical evidence that firms' labor investment behavior can vary depending on the characteristics of the ownership structure.

  • Barley anther culture is hard working to plating picking out anther from the glume and demand long time comparing to be short available development stage for effective culture. Also, it has been treatment massive materials due to low plantlet comparing to get desirable plants intensively. Consequently, this experiment was carried out trying to be more high barley anther culture effectively in terms of save plating effort. Plating materials and culture temperature affected anther culture efficiency are among the inoculation tissues or organs such as anthers, spikelets and whole panicles, culture efficiency was higher with spikelets in two-rowed than six-rowed barley due primarily to a lower contamination, and calli were induced within 30 to 50 days. Callus induction and plant regeneration rates were higher in cultures at $25^{\circ}C$ than at $15^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$. Days to callus induction were 25 to 50 days at $25^{\circ}C$ and 50 to 60 days at $20^{\circ}C$.

Effects of in vitro Culture Period of Reconstructed Embryos and Genetic Background of Feeder Cells on Establishment of Embryonic Stem Cells Derived from Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer Blastocysts in Pigs

  • The establishment of porcine embryonic stem cells (ESCs) from porcine somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) blastocysts is influenced by in vitro culture day of porcine reconstructed embryo and feeder cell type. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to determine the optimal in vitro culture period for reconstructed porcine SCNT embryos and mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) feeder cell type for enhancing colony formation efficiency from the inner cell mass (ICM) of porcine SCNT blastocysts and their outgrowth. As the results, porcine SCNT blastocysts produced through in vitro culture of the reconstructed embryos for 8 days showed significantly increased efficiency in the formation of colonies, compared to those for 7 days. Moreover, MEF feeder cells derived from outbred ICR mice showed numerically the highest efficiency of colony formation in blastocysts produced through in vitro culture of porcine SCNT embryos for 8 days and porcine ESCs with typical ESC morphology were maintained more successfully over Passage 2 on outbred ICR mice-derived MEF feeder cells than on MEF feeder cells derived from inbred C57BL/6 and hybrid B6CBAF1 mice. Overall, the harmonization of porcine SCNT blastocysts produced through in vitro culture of the reconstructed embryos for 8 days and MEF feeder cells derived from outbred ICR mice will greatly contribute to the successful establishment of ESCs derived from porcine SCNT blastocysts.

A Study on Marking Efficiency Made by Different Conditions of the Flare Skirt (Flare Skirt의 재단 조건에 따른 Marking 효율에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the proper width of fabric which can bring high efficiency on productivity. We focus on the marking method by comparing and analyzing the marking efficiency of flare skirt. This study employs 4 criteria to mark the flare skirt, which are angle, location, width, and direction, respectively. There can be 3 different angles$(180^{\circ},\;270^{\circ},\;360^{\circ})$, and 2 different locations(the center line and the middle of the pattern) according to fixing of the warp line of the fabric. Also, width can be classified into 2 groups(110cm, 150cm), and marking direction can be grouped into 2(one direction marker and one direction per each size marker). These 4 criteria make $24(3{\times}2{\times}2{\times}2)$ cases for this study. Main findings are follows. Fist, the skirt with the 150cm width has higher efficiency rate than that of 110cm. Second, fixing the warp line at the center line has higher efficiency rate than that in the middle. Finally, per size marker has much higher efficiency than the just direction marker. In sum, we find that 150cm width with the center warp line and per size marker brings the highest efficiency rate.
