China's online games have been developed a decade, the online game development is very fast. The last monitoring from "gameScan$^{TM}$" shows that there are 6 local manufacturing MMORPG games in the top 20 in march 2010 of china.Through research top 4 MMORPG games, their graphic content is too similar. All of them are the subject of Chinese Martial-Arts and Chinese Mythology, the graphic design elements all from China's traditional culture. This phenomenon will be two defects, the first if the design follow the trend, it can reduce the risk of failure, but it'll lack of competitiveness also. The second is it can meet the needs of Chinese culture for the game players in china, but the complex Chinese mythology and the culture of Martial-Arts are not easy to be accepted for foreigners. There are many European and American games failed in China, because of the differences cultural, the Game players can't understand the history, religion and culture. so, we can get some experience from the successful game cases of Korea and Japan. Use of common cultural elements combined with some Chinese traditional culture to create a new fantasy world. And try some now contents about future or science fiction.
Post-Modern Multiculturalism is spreading in many ways and other cultural interest has led to the Latin American culture, which has steadily appeared as the main fashion concept of the international collection. Frida Kahlo(1907-1954), a representative of Latin American culture and a Mexican female surrealistic painter, who gives us some inspiration for contemporary fashion design. The purpose of this study is to have a correct understanding of and research on Latin American culture and to expand the expression of fashion design. In the process, this article examines the costume of Mexico belong to the Indio culture which had been regarded as the Other for a long time and understands Frida Kahlo's fashion style: Tehuanas costume and her masculine style. The Tehuanas costume is a traditional style of the city, Tehuantepec, located in the southeast of Mexico, which is characterized by colorful floral patterns and a long skirt. Three fashion concepts were derived from her fashion style: tradition & modern, love & farewell, and masculine & feminine. The scope of this study investigates the Haute Couture and the Pret-a-porter women's wear collections and photos from 1998 to 2010 in Europe, USA and South America. From classifying the collected photos into each concept, three styles such as ethnic, romantic and androgynous style were derived. These fashion styles were analyzed through the formative elements of dress, color, silhouette, pattern, material and clothing construction in order to figure out how costumes of other cultures influenced on contemporary fashion. As a design inspiration, Frida Kahlo extends her influence into innerwear, accessories and hairstyles, as well as women's wear. These inspirations emerge steadily from the past and far into the future as an expression of a fashion design concept.
The 21st century is the age of culture and sensitivity. As the interest in the art and culture grows, Artygen who prefers artistic designs grow in number. The desire to enjoy life from the increase of leisure time and financial afford ability created a new trend of party culture. This study analyzes the characteristics of Artygen who pursues artistic sense and sensitivity and suggests party-wear designs that please Artygen and accentuate individuality and personal preferences in a party, which is a type of popular entertainment these days. Through literature review, the background of Artygen and party was examined; First, in order to analyze the feature of art designs, photos of products that were in fashion from 2007 to 2009, (during which the term, 'Artygen', was coined) were collected. Second, in order to analyze the party-wear designs, photos of party-wear in wine party and club party popular among young people in the 20~30's were collected. Through the analysis, the party-wears targeting Artygen was developed based on the characteristics of popular art designs. The results of this study were as follows. First, from the result of analyzing the art design shown in product, casual, romantic, modern, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Second, art design shown in fashion, casual, romantic, chic, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Third, in wine party, romantic, elegant, gorgeous and formal images were in order and in club party, casual, gorgeous, chic and romantic images were in order. Fourth, the study displayed design by connecting aesthetic factor of artistic design to 2 wine party-wear of romantic and gorgeous images and 3 club party dresses of casual, gorgeous and chic images.
This paper aims to approach a spatial furniture for sedentary lifestyle which been has derived and evolved from Korea's traditional 'Ondol' heating system. In this living culture, people has been staid on the floor where people would sit directly on without furniture such as chair and bed. With every changing technological advances, sedentary life culture is transformed and mixed instead of sedentary habit. Most of people lived in western house such as apartment forms. As time go by, western furnitures were used became widespread. However, during the process, it impossible to acclimate ourselves to the new lifestyle such as chair, bed etc. This leads to users feeling uncomfortable on certain points. The researcher suggests a spatial furniture through a new approach to rest-taking that also intersects the cultures of East and West while resolving the a fore-mentioned issues. The study is conducted as follows. Firstly, issues are discovered through a user's lifestyle to exist usage and interplay of house and furniture. Furthermore, the issues was not a fragmentary thing but more related to a culture and a coustom of long standing. Secondly, a design experiment is conducted to conclude a new form and function that is better fit for the Korean culture where sitting on the floor is the norm. New direction for space that intersects the cultures of the East and West while using modules made convenient for contemporary life is presented. Finally, this study is meaningful in that it reinterprets furniture used for rest within the context of sedentary culture, in order to propose a new direction and value for design that overcomes the boundaries between eastern and western applied to resting space.
The purpose of this study was to delve into the features of paradigm in conjunction with changing convergence culture in the 21st century's knowledge-based society, the influence of convergence paradigm on fashion, and changes in convergence culture. After identifying the features of the paradigm of knowledge-based society in association with changing convergence culture, the characteristics of fashion paradigm were examined in con=junction with the characteristics of the paradigm, and the convergence phenomena of modern fashion were investigated to figure out fashion trends. The findings of the study were as follows: According to the features of ubiquitous technology based on the theories of Mark Weiser and other futurologists, the characteristics of changing convergence culture in knowledge-based society could be classified into invisibility, relationship and materialized virtuality. When relevant theories were reviewed, invisibility, relationship and materialized virtuality are identified as the unique features of the paradigm of changing convergence culture in knowledge-based society. But those characteristics aren't separate concepts. Instead, they are being connected and fused together, thanks to universalized digital technology and ubiquitous technology. Changing convergence culture has brought a change to fashion paradigm as well. There is a type of design that lets all the characteristics stand out, and another design fuses just some of them together conceptually or formally. That is, fashion paradigm is marked by a combination of invisibility, relationship and an embodiment of virtual reality to be in line with changes in convergence culture.
Culture and society exist in the present, but they came from the past. So did clothing. As dressing is deeply based on culture pattern of the times, it is affected by various culture patterns and still keeps developing in modern times. This study is intended to examine the features of retro fashion on culture and dressing of the 19th century. The features of retro fashion on Neoclassical and Romantic culture and dressing are objection to the existing pattern, recursion to the past, and creativity characteristic of pattern of those days. Neoclassicism arose as it rejected Baroque and Rococo style, and imitated culture and artistic pattern of Greece and Rome. Romanticism objected to formal and universal pattern of Neoclassicism, and imitated Gothic style while recognizing historical facts and studying medieval times. Dressing in Neoclassicism did not accept exaggerated and luxurious Rococo pattern, and imitated simple, soft and straight silhouette of Greece and Rome and created its unique Empire Style. Romanticism imitated luxurious style of Renaissance, the Middle Ages, Baroque, and Rococo, different from simple and straight neoclassical style during the Bourbon restoration, and created its unique style. Thus, it is shown that retro fashion on Neoclassical and Romantic culture and dressing reflect the style of those days.

Anyang city performed a design competition for the existing paper mill site and this design is the work that was submitted to that competition. The design instructions for the competition were about an organic site which had harmony of aboveground park and underground parking lot, establishment of park planning which is fit for the features of nearby areas, and security of proper parking space. This design criteria set the design concept to a new wave of Anyang by reflecting the design instructions of prize contest and features of the site and developed it as three waves. First, the eco wave, one of three waves, means that it compose the ecological healthy park and urban environment together with restoration and preservation of Suamcheon (stream), and futhermore the waves that the natural resource are maintained in a delicate ecological balance as the water resource of Anyang city are connected to the axis of mountain resource. Secondly, the emotion wave indicates that the wave toward culture and art emotional park that stimulates and fills up the emotion to makes impoverishing modems minds fertile. Thirdly, the health wave means the waves toward a park to keep the sound of minds and bodies of Anyang citizens, and healthy and sound life as well as the waves toward a park to contribute the healthy leap and development of Anyang. Textile fabrication based on traditional culture has grown very attentive as fashion icons in recent so that designers, especially, who want to be the center of attention, may be a public interest and introduce their own culture to the world. In the 21st century by more focusing of our culture, Korean textile designs that is applicable our traditional motifs are required to develop and also its motifs could be comprehensibly got the spirit and the inherent meaning, and should be fuse with modern touch and developed practical design in daily life. Of all many different patterns, this paper placed an emphasis on three of main traditional motifs as a floral arabesque pattern, ivy pattern and butterfly pattern. The traditional motifs were applied through a hand-made technology and the professional design program of TexPro, and then the textile design was simulated by Photoshop to approaching the apparel design. Through these produced artworks, we have conscious that the oriental images have associate traditional meaning and the traditional design tried to express co-existence past and present. Moreover, we believe that the surface pattern design of textile for printing was good chance to relive the traditional meaning, and the tradition is recognized not mere old and expects more advance with applications.
