  • The characteristics of phosphate adsorption-desorption on kaolinite was studied by batch adsorption experiments and detailed adsorbed state of phosphate on kaolinite surface was investigated using ATR-FTIR (Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared) spectroscopy. The phosphorous contents were measured using UV-VIS-IR spectrophotometer with 820 nm wavelength. The adsorbed P was generally increased with increasing pH value in the range of pH 4 to pH 9, however it is not distinct. Moreover the adsorbed P was significantly changed with different initial phosphate concentration. The adsorption isotherms were well fitted with the Langmuir equation, Temkin equation, and Freundlich equation in descending order. The maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of kaolinite KGa-2 is 232.5 ($204.1{\sim}256.5$) mg/kg and has very higher value than that of kaolinite KGa-1b. Most of adsorbed phosphate on kaolinite were not easily desorbed to aqueous solution, but might fixed on kaolinite surface. However it needs further research about the exact desorption experiment. It was impossible to recognize phosphorous adsorption bands on kaolinite in ATR-FTIR spectrum from kaolinite bands themselves, because the absorption peaks of phosphorous have very similar positions with those of kaolinite, and the intensities of the former were very weak in comparison with those of the latter.

  • The development of the Internet in the 21st century had made a variety of cross-cultural environment so that animations also have evolved with new features to Web-Animation. In Korea, the web-based flash animation leap forward to the animation Utopia in the early 2000's, but did not last long. The web-based animations should attract audience's attention not only with it's minimum streaming capacity but also with showing it's best qualities as well, Therefore, the stimulating narrative strategies were mandatories for web-animation in 2000's. The absence of in-depth research on media, poor revenue structure, and the emergence of mobile games and e-learning industries made the web-animation become just a one-time/one-consumable content. There were no subsequent generation of korean web-animation ever since. In this study, I want to introduce and analyze the american web animation series, (2005) as a new type of web-animation in current digital culture, In particular, I want to discuss how this web animation appeal to the audience with its narrative strategies through using some aspect of the internet culture which's differentiated from traditional media based cultures. This research could suggest diverse narrative strategies for the future web-animation with new vision. Moreover, This also allows to look at latest web-animation trends and its new experiments.

  • With the accumulations of outcomes from archaeological excavations of mountain fortress of three kingdoms period, there have been studies about time-periodic territory range of mountain fortress, difference in the way(method) of construction, defence system and so on from various points of view. This is an empirical study on the construction method of the valley part of stone fortress. First of all, it is required to secure large quantity of fresh water for those who lived at mountain fortress. Especially when builders of fortress construct a fortification at the valley part of stone fortress, in advance they must sufficiently consider several options including the establishment of sustainable water resources. First, when it comes to build a fortification on a ridge[or a slope] of a mountain, you have only to consider a vertical stress. However, when it comes to build a fortification at the valley part of a mountain, You must have more sufficient preparations for the constructing process. Because there are not only a vertical stress but also a horizontal pressure simultaneously. Second, a fortification of mountain fortress built by using unit building stone is a structure of masonry construction like brick construction, and the valley part of it is where the construction of the fortification begins. Third, when it comes to build a fortification at the valley part of a mountain, it seems that they use a temporary method such as coffer dam in oder to prevent the collapse of the fortification due to heavy rain. Furthermore, in response to a horizontal pressure a fortification is built by the way of its plane make an arch, or by piling up the soil with the plate method(類似版築) and earthen wall harder method(敷葉) they increase cross-sectional area of the fortification and its cutoff capacity. In front direction they put the reservoir facility for the fear that the hydraulic pressure and earth pressure are directly transmitted to the fortification. The process of constructing the fortification at the valley part of a mountain is done in the same oder as follows; leveling of ground(整地) ${\Rightarrow}$ construction of coffer dam ${\Rightarrow}$ construction of the fortification between the both banks of the valley ${\Rightarrow}$ construction of the fortification at bottom part of spill way(餘水路) between the both banks of the valley ${\Rightarrow}$ construction of spill way(餘水路) & reservoir facility ${\Rightarrow}$ construction of the fortification at upper part of spill way between the both banks of the valley. Coffer dam facility seems to be not only the protection device on occasion of flood but also an important criterion to measure the proper height of spill way or tailrace(放水路). This study has a meaningful significance in that it empirically examines the method of reduction of the horizontal pressure which the fortification at the valley part of a mountain takes, the date the construction was done, and wether the changes in climate such as heavy rainfall influence the process of construction.

  • As the first class Teaching Artists system is about to be brought to effect, the ability required for Teaching Artists to design educational contents, develop and manage education programs is not much different from that of a museum Educator. This system is necessary for resolving problems in existing Arts and Culture Education, such as overlapping programs and adjusting difficulty levels by age to meet the demand of educatee. It also deals with drawbacks in production-oriented curriculum originating from the preference in some subject. In addition, as progress in science and technology makes rapid changes in digital media and its subculture, increasing need for novel and interdisciplinary curriculum in the field of Arts and Culture Education puts further emphasis on the importance of this system. In this study, we focus on clarifying the significance of Educator as a professional and proposing curriculum for the system, trying to avoid restricting our discussion to current Arts Instructor Supporting Project which are merely aimed at supporting children and adolescents to grow up to enjoy culture and arts. Capacity for designing curriculum for culture and arts, the kernel of qualification for the first class Teaching Artists, requires a variety of comprehensive expertise and qualification such as doing preliminary research on contents related to animation, curating, determining potential of educational contents, organizing educational contents for appropriate educatee, understanding esthetic property and its role in education, and appreciating and enjoying cultural contents. Therefore, Teaching Artists plays roles not only in developing and running educational programs but also in supporting and cooperating with culture and arts institutions, designing and managing creative programs, combining and communicating with different social groups, and emphasizing mutual interchange in culture.

  • The interactions of the societal-industrial system with the environment form one of the most critical issues in today's world. The inadequacy of current environmental regulatory structures and of traditional ways of analyzing environmental issues, together with the continuing need to mitigate the environmental perturbations arising from this complex relationship, have led to the development of a new conceptual framework termed industrial ecology. Industrial ecology (IE), defined by Graedel and Allenby, is the means by which humanity can deliberately and rationally approach and maintain a desirable carrying capacity, given continued economic, cultural and technological evolution. The concept requires that an industrial system be viewed not in isolation from its surrounding systems, but in concert with them. IE is a systems view in which one seeks to optimize the total materials cycle from virgin material, to finished material, to component, to product, to obsolete product, and to ultimate disposal. Factors to be optimized include resources, energy, and capital. In the present paper, the concept of Industrial Ecology and its application through efficient and practical Design for Environment (DFE) methodologies and tools will be introduced to Korea. This paper will also emphasis on the industrial environment within which DFE methodologies must be used, including the fundamentals of industrial design activities, concurrent engineering, constraints on design choices and existing technological infrastructure.

  • The purpose of this research is to provide the indication on policy for the SME that are going through the Growing Pains by analyzing the cause of the Growing Pains and the effect that it causes to the company performance. By measured the extent of the growing pains in entrepreneurial companies, 8 of the 20 companies surveyed companies indicate that some very significant problems exist within the organization and the other 12 companies indicate some organizational problems require attention. As a result of correlation between company performance and Growing Pains that analyzed by using CAGR(Compound Annual Growth Rate), we have arrived at the conclusion that they are oppositely related. We have conducted the regression coefficient in order to analyze the factors that are affecting the Growing Pains and we have discovered that Leadership and work performance capability of CEO, Company's structure capability and Company's cultural strength have a meaningful relation out of 7 Factors that were used for regression coefficient. Only, CEO's work performance is analyzed to worsen the Growing Pains that, for enterprises at the certain growing stage it is needed to establish an administrative system instead of relying on CEO. Also CEO's strong leadership play which relate to administrative capacity, forming reasonable organizational structure, customer oriented mind and Company's culture that are developed with sense of responsibility reduce Growing Pains according to a research.

  • This study was conducted in order to empirically analyze factors affecting the quality of life in the elder resulting from the use of elderly leisure facilities in the community. For this purpose, we surveyed the elder using the senior health town of Gwang-ju Metropolitan City to see whether the quality of life in the elder is influenced by factors such as facilities' environment within the health town, the capacity for the staff and instructors, and the elders' satisfaction with programs. The results of this study are expected to provide practical solutions for enhancing the quality of life in senior users. The survey was performed with 1,038 elders aged over 60 who were using the senior health town of Gwang-ju Metropolitan City by using a self-administered questionnaire and being interviewed with surveyors. The period of the survey was from the 10th to 15th of December, 2010. According to the results of this study, variables affecting the elders' quality of life were academic qualification (B= .074, p<0.05), instructors satisfaction (B=.172, p<0.001), staff satisfaction (B=.104, p<0.01), and facilities and environment satisfaction (B=.217, p<0.001). That is, the lower academic background they have, the higher instructors', staff's, facilities and environment's satisfaction are, the quality of life in the elder was positively affected. In particular, facilities and environment's satisfaction show a relatively high effect and this suggests the necessity to modernize cultural and leisurely facilities in community for senior citizens and create pleasant environment in order to improve the quality of life in the elder.

  • When historical or cultural buildings need to be repaired or reinforced, the changes of original features should be minimized, and the strengths of structures should be improved. Among the existing methods to reinforce historical wood structures, the carbon fiber reinforcement polymer (CFRP) installation method is one of the best ones to achieve the afore-mentioned requirements. Therefore, this study aims at investigating the reinforcing effects and failure modes of timber beams reinforced with the inserted CFRP, a part of roof trusses in modern wood structures, and at providing the fundamental test data to estimate the CFRP rein-forced timber beam in the application of this reinforcing method. The primary parameters in this study were the layout and amount of CFRP. It was observed that, when $0.3{\sim}0.7%$ of CFRP were installed, the strengths of reinforced timber beams increased up to 173% compared to its original strength, but their strengthening effects were heavily influenced by the characteristics of timber such as burls. In order to improve the applicability of this strengthening method, fundamental understandings on the characteristics of wood would be necessary, and there would be in need of researches on the non-destructive test for wood structures as well.

  • The quality characteristics of soy yogurt prepared with different proteolytic enzymes and starter culture were evaluated. In order to facilitate the growth of lactic acid bacteria and subsequent production of lactic acid, soy protein isolate(SPI) was hydrolyzed using three kinds of proteases; one extracted from Aspergillus oryzae, bromelain and ${\alpha}-chymotrypsin$. The cultural systems employed thereafter for lactic fermentations were: 1) Bifidobacterium bifidum, 2) B. bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus, 3) B. bifidum and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. In soy yogurt, pH was more decreased by mixed culture method than single culture method with the accumulation of lactic acid. Viable cells of lactic acid bacteria in soy yogurts were measured $10^8$ CFU/g by the single culture method while $10^9$ CFU/g by the mixed culture method except ${\alpha}-chymotrypsin$ treatment. The amount of free amino acids in soy yogurts were substaintially increased by enzyme treatment. Viscosity was decreased by enzyme treatment, resulting in higher viscosity by ${\alpha}-chymotrypsin$ treatment. Water holding capacity was found to be higher in the single culture method in case of enzyme treatment. Among the various volatile flavor components isolated and identified after enzyme hydrolysis, acetaldehyde, ethanol, diacetyl, butyl alcohol contents tended to increase by lactic fermentation.

  • In our days, we live in the world of image and imagination. Now we think that the images and imaginations are no more selective but indispensable elements in our life. The status of imagination is dramatically changed since 20 century. Many philosophers like G. Bachelard, G. Durand, Paul Ricoeur, H. Corbin, G. Deleuze made great contributions and we think that the studies of imagination began since 20 century. But the change of the status of imagination was not made in one day. In the long history of human life, the imagination kept his own value, and never stopped to give his influence to the human mentalities. The concept of imagination was born from the Plato's notion of phantasia. Plato thinks that the phantasia is a kind of drawing capacity in mind in the process of recognition. But the image which phantasia makes is not real one but pseudo one. So it is necessary to banish those false images from our recognition. Aristotle thought phantasia as an afterimage of object of sense. The sense is always true, but the phantasia is very possible to be an error. After Plato and Aristotle, the notion of phantasia developed into that of imagination, but it was always a problem full of contradictions. According to G. Durand, we can say, in some sense, the history of western philosophy is a kind of struggle against the image and imagination. In Middle Age, the iconoclasm tried to exclude image from their religion. Thomas Aquinas tried to explain the image by the rationalistic christianisme. In 16-17C Galilei and Descartes solidified the exclusion of imagination from the philosophy in the name of science and reason. The empiricism and positivism was the final and the most conclusive philosophies which exclude the imagination definitively from the field of philosophy. But the imagination continued his influence in the field of art. In the age of Renaissance, the imagination found his way of liberal expression, and this trend was inherited to Baroque. From the middle of 17c many philosophical theories supported the imagination by many philosophers like J.-B. Dubos, Baumgarten, A. Becq, J.-J. Rousseau etc. The Romanticism was the first significant wave which made the imagination come forward in front the art. The romanticism broke the narrow frame of rationalism and expand human's view of the world to the cosmos. From the romanticism, the imagination became a faculty which expresses the unity of human and nature. That was impossible by the rational thinking of rationalism. The concept of new imagination made a new future of human, 'the imagining conscious' and this imagining conscious provided a solid base of next generation's symbolism and surrealism.
