  • China's intangible cultural heritage at the national level amounts to more than 1,500 species, and it is also the country with the largest number of items on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list, so the intangible cultural heritage of the country and mankind is very much treasured and cared for. However, with the development of the times, many intangible cultural heritages are facing a dilemma due to the problem of a single form of communication. However, at the same time, the efficient and convenient way of information visualization provides innovative ideas and new opportunities for the visual communication of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. This paper examines the formal characteristics of infographic visual expression on the theoretical basis of books and related papers and analyzes the application cases and advantages of infographics in the communication of Chinese intangible cultural heritage in the context of the present era. It aims to explore a fast and novel visual presentation method for the communication of Chinese intangible cultural heritage through infographic design methods, to promote the inheritance and development of Chinese intangible cultural heritage in the new era.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the life satisfaction of adolescents in the ecological contexts of their individual, family, school, and social-cultural experiences. The participants were 1,099 middle and high school students in Chungnam-do. Instruments were the Satisfaction with Life Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory, the School Life Satisfaction Scale, and Social-Cultural Satisfaction Scale. Data analysis involved the use of descriptive statistics, t- and F-tests, Duncan's multiple range test, product-moment correlations, multiple regression, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, and factor analysis. Results were as follows: Firstly, middle school students showed the highest levels of life satisfaction, and vocational high school students reported the lowest levels. Also, life satisfaction was inversely related to school grades. Secondly, for all the students, life satisfaction was positive correlated with self-esteem, open communication with parents, school life satisfaction, and social-cultural satisfaction. Lastly, open communication with parents and overall satisfaction with life at school explained more of the variance in adolescent life satisfaction than any other factors.

The purpose of this study is to figure out ‘similarity’ and ‘dissimilarity’ on design characteristics of traditional storage furniture in interior context of Korea, China and Japan. Comparative analysis of traditional furniture was conducted in two terms, in terms of inner space, first, spatial elevation and front patterns, second, flooring materials of the interior space and types of furniture legs. Result of first comparative analysis showed that composition of windows, one of the major decorative elements of interior space, positively influenced on furniture, and reflected unique patterns of each country. Second comparative analysis showed that structures and shapes of traditional furniture vary depending on flooring materials. As a result of it, Korean furniture has the structure of ‘punghyeol’ and Chinese furniture has the structure of ‘aja’ with ‘takni’ , a combination of legs. In contrast to the two countries, Japanese furniture has rarely legs. The result of analysis is expected to act a role of establishing the cultural identity of our own country.

Data for this study was gathered through twenty-one fieldwork expeditions between September 1994 and December 2002 using interviews and participant observation of 7 families drown from two extended families. Data was analyzed using the techniques of taxonomy, value, and proxemics analysis. Findings. The socio-cultural context of caring for elderly people, their caring values, and four categories of caring were explored. Values of caring and every day life in the clan were hierarchical, reciprocal, and collective. The four categories of caring were: being with, empowering, keeping territory, and enhancing spirituality. Conclusions. The results of this study can be used to understand culture-specific care and to provide culturally congruent care for the elderly in a clinical setting.

  • In the present context of systemic global crisis, this paper focuses on a sustainable society. Throughout the World there are vast members of the unemployes. A secure job lasting a lifetime has become more and more rare. Nowadays majority of jobs are part-time or temporary. $Andr{\acute{e}}$ Gorz found a solution in a policy of the progessive reduction in labor time. This is the potential which automated production opens up for a culture society. Nevertheless, Gorz's proposal is based on utopion ideals. This paper focuses on a dynamic force for a culture society, especially art, learning and the third sector. Adrienne Goehler underlines that a culture in the broad sense of the word produces economical and social productivity. In this connection Goehler give attention to 'Cultrual Creatives' and the Creative Class. Cultural creatives are comprised of people who have participated in the process of creating a new culture with enlightened creativity. The Creative Class is a class of workers whose job is to create economic growth through innovation. Creativity is important for a sustainable society. Gore and Rifkin both come close to the ecological thinking. Gore claims that ecosystem of nature have a self-organizing capacity. In this context tried to prove this article that ecosystem is closely connected with a creative environment.

  • This paper is an art historical attempt to discuss the transfer and transmission of a certain visual idiom along the Silk Roads and to show the multi-dimensionality of the trans-regional, trans-cultural movement. The motifs of grapes and grapevines are discussed here for this purpose, including the grape-and-vine motif mixed with other animated figures and plants. A special emphasis is on China and its reception, but regional varieties within East Asia are also discussed. The motif is one of the most longstanding and versatile visual idioms, widely distributed along the regions of the Silk Roads. This deceptively familiar motif came to China, where grapes and viticulture were introduced far later than the West. The West developed various symbolisms ranging from manic revelry and heavenly unity with mystic beings, to royalty and power in different cultures. In China, this visual idiom was eagerly received in association with something exotic and re-interpreted in the context of Chinese culture. Without active viticulture, the motif transformed itself into beautiful design patterns and space fillers in China and East Asia. The natural appeal of jewel-like grapes acquired new meanings of fertility and happiness in the traditional East Asian cultural context. To see the cultural effect of viticulture on the visualization of this motif, the Islamic reception of the motif is briefly touched upon when countries to the West of China (서역 西域) were fully Islamized and heavily affected by the prohibition of alcoholic drinking.

  • As the digital economy goes global, firms are trying to find suppliers that can address their managerial goals and strategies. The alternatives are not confined to domestic firms. Firms have been trying to connect to foreign partners worldwide. Although offshore outsourcing grants firms various benefits, they present big cultural challenges. However, there is little research on the impact of cultural or country factors on outsourcing. The goal of this paper is to synthesize the outsourcing success literature and develop propositions for outsourcing success in the context of offshore outsourcing. This paper proposes that cultural effects should be included in evaluating the success of offshore outsourcing. Knowledge sharing and the scope of outsourcing are adopted in the base outsourcing success model from previous literature. In the extended model partnership quality is included as a mediator and organizational capability and outsourcing relationship type are also included as moderator. Finally, the integrated framework of offshore outsourcing success includes cultural factors as moderators of the relationships between outsourcing success antecedents and the success of offshore outsourcing. Reasoning for propositions, managerial implications, and future research directions are discussed.

  • Investigating the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and their effects on affective mathematics engagement in a cultural context is critical for determining which types of motivation promote affective mathematics engagement and the relationship with cultural affordance. The investigation in the current study is comprised of two dependent studies. The results from Phase 1 indicate that attitude and emotion are better explained by extrinsic motivation, while self-acknowledgment and value are better explained by intrinsic motivation. The results of Phase 2 indicate that the Korean sample has greater extrinsic motivation, attitude, and emotion, while the U.S. sample has greater intrinsic motivation, self-acknowledgment, and value. The key outcome for this research is that disentangling cultural affordance from the emotional and cognitive structures is impossible.
