기판 예열 온도에 따른 Copper (II) phthalocyane의 phase 변화 및 박막의 결정 변화 (Phase transition of Copper (II) Phthalocyanine and crystal structures due to a heat treatment temperature of substrate)

  • 열증착법을 이용하여 copper(II) phthalocyane (CuPc)의 박막을 제작하였다. 기판의 예열 온도를 달리하여 제작된 CuPc의 박막은 ${\alpha}-phase$${\beta}-phase$로 구분할 수 있으며 phase에 따른 결정 구조를 관찰하기 위해 x-ray diffraction을 사용하고 peak의 위치를 관찰하였다. 또한 SEM, UV visible absorption spectra의 변화를 통해 온도에 따라 상전이가 이행해 가는 모습을 구체적으로 관측하였다. 이러한 결정 구조의 변화는 CuPc 박막의 전기전도 특성에 영향을 달리하여 유기발광 소자에 응용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • 열증착법을 이용하여 copper(II) phthalocyane (CuPc)의 박막을 제작하였다. 기판의 예열 온도를 달리하여 제작된 CuPc의 박막을 x-ray diffraction, SEM, UV visible absorption spectra의 변화를 통해 관찰한 결과 결정의 구조에 따라 ${\alpha}$-phase와 ${\beta}$-phase로 구분할 수 있었다. 이러한 결정 구조의 변화는 CuPc 박막의 전기전도 특성에 영향을 달리하여 유기발광 소자에 응용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • Emission properties of the organic light-emitting diodes were investigated with the use of a hole-injection layer of copper(II)-phthalocyanine (CuPc). The manufactured device structure is indium-tin-oxide (ITO) (180 nm)/CuPc (0~50 nm)/N,N'-Bis(3-methylphenyl)-N,N'-diphenylbenzidine (TPD) (40 nm)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (III) ($Alq_3$) (60 nm)/Al(100 nm). We investigated the luminescence properties of $Alq_3$ which is affected by the CuPc hole-injection layer. Also, we studied the influence of light-emission properties in the structure of an ITO/CuPc/TPD/$Alq_3$/Al device depending on the several thicknesses of CuPc (0~50 nm) layer. As a result, it was found that the hole injection occurs smoothly in the device with 20 nm thick CuPc layer, and the properties become significantly worse in the device with a CuPc layer thickness higher than 40 nm. We studied the topography and external quantum efficiency depending on the layer thickness of CuPc. Also, we analyzed the electroluminescent characteristics in the low and high-voltage range.

유기발광소자의 결정구조에 따른 Photocurrent 발광효율특성 연구 (Photocurrent multiplication process in OLEDs due to light irradiation and crystalline hole transporting layer)

  • We report the electric properties of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) by controlling the carrier density according to the crystalline of copper(II) phthalocyanine(CuPc) and the irradiation light intensity. OLEDs were constructed with indium tin oxaide (ITO)/CuPc/triphenyl-diamin (TPD)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq3)/Al. The transport properties of OLEDs were changedby the heat-treatments of CuPc. The irradiation of red and blue light exciting CuPc, TPD and Alq3. And then we observed the carrier density of OLEDs.

The Preparation of Polyaniline Electrode Modified by Copper Phthalocyanine on Supporting Carbon Paper

  • Cathode materials for the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell was prepared by electropoly-merization of aniline at carbon paper in the presence of copper tetrasulfonato-phthalocyanine (CuTsPc) and their electrocatalytic behavior was studied. The amount of polyaniline and CuTsPc in the carbon paper was determined by UV spectroscopy of residual solution in electrochemical cell. The redox process of the prepared electrodes was investigated with cyclic voltammetry. The highest reversible current density was observed at the electrode that contains 27.6 wt% of polyaniline and 19.7 wt% of CuTsPc. The morphology of composite electrode from SEM showed the presence of large cluster of polyaniline with CuTsPc, which should be more finely interpenetrated into macropores of carbon for the better electrocatalytic activity.

LB박막을 이용한 프탈로시아닌의 광증감 기구에 관한 연구 (A Study on Photosensitization Mechanism of Phthalocyanines with LB Films)

  • 프탈로시아닌의 광증감 기구를 연구하기 위하여 가용성 프탈로시아닌, copper(II) 4,5-dicarboxyphthalocyanine[CuPc$(COOH)_2$]와 copper(II) 4,5,4',5'-tetracarboxyphthalocyanine[CuPc$(COOH)_4$]을 합성하였다. 합성된 프탈로시아닌 유도체의 단분자층을 ITO유리기판 위에 LB방법으로 만들었다. CuPc$(COOH)_2$ 의 LB단분자층이 CuPc$(COOH)_4$의 막보다 더 규칙적인 배열구조를 가진 시료가 만들어짐을 표면압력-면적 곡선으로써 확인하였고 프탈로시아닌 유도체의 LB단분자층의 광전류를 측정하였더니 규칙적인 배열의 CuPc$(COOH)_2$[$i_{max}$=20.84nA]가 CuPc$(COOH)_4$[$i_{max}$=10.50nA]보다 전하발생효율이 거의 두배로 나타나는 결과를 얻었다.

Influence of Intermolecular Interactions on the Structure of Copper Phthalocyanine Layers on Passivated Semiconductor Surfaces

  • The surface structures of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin films deposited on sulphur-passivated and plane perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA)-covered InAs(100) surfaces have been studied by low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and van der Waals (vdW) intermolecular interaction energy calculations. The annealing to $300^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$ of $(NH_4)_2S_x$-treated InAs(100) substrates produces a ($1{\times}1$) and ($2{\times}1$) S-passivated surface respectively. The CuPc deposition onto the PTCDA-covered InAs(100) surface leads to a ring-like diffraction pattern, indicating that the 2D ordered overlayer exists and the structure is dominantly determined by the intermolecular interactions rather than substrate-molecule interactions. However, no ordered LEED patterns were observed for the CuPc on S-passivated InAs(100) surface. The intermolecular interaction energy calculations have been carried out to rationalise this structural difference. In the case of CuPc unit cells on PTCDA layer, the planar layered CuPc structure is more stable than the $\alpha$-herringbone structure, consistent with the experimental LEED results. For CuPc unit cells on a S-($1{\times}1$) layer, however, the $\alpha$-herringbone structure is more stable than the planar layered structure, consistent with the absence of diffraction pattern. The results show that the lattice structure during the initial stages of thin film growth is influenced strongly by the intermolecular interactions at the interface.

금속 프탈로시아닌 유도체의 Langumuir-Blodgett 박막 제작에 관한 연구 (Study on Preparation of Metal Phthalocyanine Derivative Langmuir-Blodgett Film)

  • It is well known that the metallo-phthalocyanine(MPcs) are sensitive to toxic gaseous molecules such as $NO_2$ and also chemically and thermally stable. Therefore, lots of MPcs have been studied for the potential chemical sensor for $NO_2$ gas using quartz crystal microbalance or electrical conductivity. In this study, 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-[octa-(dodecyloxy)] copper phthalocyanine and 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-[octa-(octyloxy)] copper phthalocyanine were synthesized and their possibility of LB film preparation were tested. It was confirmed by using FT-IR, DSC, NMR, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and Elemental Analysis that CuPc derivatives were successfully synthesized. From the ${\pi}$-A characteristics and limiting areas of two CuPc derivatives it was found that the preparation of LB films with these CuPc derivatives is possible.

  • Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) are of interest for use in widely area electronic applications. We fabricated a copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) based field-effect transistor with different metal electrode. So we need the effect of the substituent group attached to the phthalocyanine on the surface potential was investigated by Kelvin probe method with varying temperature of the substrate. We were obtained the positive shift of the surface potential for CuPc thin film. We observed the electron displacement at the interface between Au electrode and CuPc layer and we were confirmed by the surface potential measurement.
