Determination of Microamounts of Copper by Fluorescence X-Ray Analysis (형광 X-선 분석에 의한 미량 구리의 정량)

  • The analytical conditions for the fluorescence X-ray determination of small amount of cupper in solution were established. Copper in solution was extracted by diethyldithiocarbamate ethyl acetate and adsorbed by zinc powder. After drying, it was pressed to tablet under the pressure of $250Kg/cm^2.$$K_{\alpha}2(2{\theta}_{LiF} = 45.08^{\circ})$. The limit of detection was estimated to be about $10{\mu}g$ by the method of standard addition with an error of 10 %.

  • Alternating current (AC) losses of two Bi-2223 ([Bi, Pb] : Sr : Ca : Cu :O = 2:2:2:3) tapes [one untwisted (Tape I, twist-pitch of $\infty$ mm) and the other with a twist-pitch of 8mm (Tape II) ] were measured and compared. These samples, produced by the powder-in-tube (PIT) method, are multi-filamentary and have a Ag/Au and Ag matrix, respectively. Susceptibility measurements were conducted while cooling in a magnetic field. Flux loss measurements were conducted as a function of ramping rate, frequency and field direction. The AC flux loss increases as the twist-pitch of the tapes decreased, in agreement with the Norris Equation.

  • [ $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-8}$ ] (YBCO) coated conductor has been fabricated by batch-type process using oxide-precursor-based metal-organic deposition (MOD) method. The batch-type process can be scaled up more simply to Produce long-length YBCO conductor than the reel-to-reel process. Also, it has less handling problems and is adequate to the ambient gas environment. In this work, YBCO oride powder was used as a starting precursor for MOD method. After reel-to-reel dip coating process, me ter-long-buffered metal tape was wound around a cylinder and underwent calcination and annealing processes. Annealed YBCO films showed good c-axis alignment and dense surface morphology with no cracks, but exhibited very low critical current density of $10^5\;A/cm^2$.

  • It is very important to select suspension solution for forming electrophoretic deposited YBCO thick film, because it is heavily affected to its superconducting properties. In this paper, high-temperature superconductor films of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ were fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) from alcohol-based suspension such as iso-propanol, iso-butanol, and their mixture. For the formation of YBCO dense and adherent coating on a silver wire by EPD, 1% PEG(1000) 2 $m\ell$, as a additive for making their surface crack-free, was used for electrophoresis. As a results, the cracks were considerably decreased and the superconducting critical current density (J$_{c}$) without/with PEG was 1200 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 2020 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, which films deposited in mix ism-propanol and iso-butanol suspension.ion.

  • Effects of the second sintering process on the superconducting characteristics of the (Bi, Pb)SrCaCuO system have been studied. It was found that the optimal calcining temperature of mixed powder may be proper to 820$^{\circ}C$ and the optimal sintering temperture was determined on 845$^{\circ}C$. The 2212 phases transitioned the 2223 phasses during the sintring process and zero resistance was attained at 108 K for the samples sintered for 264 hr. The 2223 phases changed into the 2212 phases and nonsuperconducting phases by the second grinding process. And the 2223 phases did not recover easily by the second sintering process.

  • Light-emitting diode(LEDs), diode arrays, and phosphor display panels are finding increased use in a variety of commercial applications. Present and anticipated application of these devices include solid state indicator and display systems. In this work, Phosphor based on ZnS:Cu are used. Relation by luminance with the thickness of insulating layer and phosphor layer are discussed. Increased thickness of insulating layer are stable on voltage to 300V. By considering thickness and voltage, optimal structure and thickness are investigated. In order to maximize even surface emission, various sieving processes are introduced. 150cd/m$^2$ luminance by various wave intensity are investigated in stable voltage and frequency.

  • Spray casting of hypereutectic Al-Si based alloy has been reported to provide distinct advantages over ingot metallurgy (IM) or rapid solidification/powder metallurgy (RS/PM) process in terms of microstructure refinement. Hypereutectic Al-Si based alloys have been regarded attractive for automotive and aerospace application, due to high specific strength, good wear resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion, high thermal stability, and good creep resistance. In this study, hypereutectic Al-25Si-2.0Cu-1.0Mg alloy was prepared by OSPREY spray casting process. High temperature deformation behavior of the hypereutectic Al-Si based alloy has been investigated by applying the internal variable theory proposed by Chang et al. The change of strain rate sensitivity and Creep transition were analyzed by using the load relaxation test and constant creep test.

  • The higher the addition rate, the less difference in kneading was found. This is because most of the cases are mixed with vinyl gloves by hand when immediately mixed in the field, so there is no problem of mixing dough according to the amount of addition. The mean increase temperature for 20 minutes was 31.6℃ for Plain, 38.1℃ for Al, 33.7℃ for Cu, and 5~7℃ for Al 20% added sample, 38.1℃ for Al 20% added sample, but 36.6℃ for Al 5% added sample. This suggests that it is possible to improve its own heat transferability by adding metal powder to epoxy adhesives.

Processing of Leaflike and Powder Tea Using Sea Tangle (다시마를 이용한 엽상 및 분말차 개발)

  • To summarize our interpretation of the results, we can explain shown below. Optimum con dictions in order to soften of sea tangle leafs were treated in the solutions of 0.05% $CH_3$COOH at 9$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5 hour, 0.2% $K_2$HPO$_4$at 10$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5 hour and 0.3% NaHCO$_3$at 10$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5 hour. After sea tangle leafs were treated in the solutions of 0.05% $CH_3$COOH at 9$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5 hour and added 10% seasoning agent of 0.5% glutamic acid, 3% glycine, 5% sorbitol and 1.5% soy sauce. Contents of free amino acid in the leaflike tea were a large amount as alanine of 707.2 $\mu$mo1/100$m\ell$ and glutamic acid of 343.6 $\mu$mo1/100 $m\ell$. And contents of mineral were order Na of 49.38 ppm, Mg of 10.72 ppm, K of 10.56 ppm and Ca of 6.55 ppm. Powder tea was added 0.05% glutamic acid, 5% glycine, 5% glucose and 4% sodium chloride in sea tangle powder, and then pressure treatment at 11$0^{\circ}C$ for 1.5 hours. Contents of free amino acid in the powder tea were a large amount as glycine of 222.04 $\mu$mo1/100$m\ell$ and glutamic arid of 208.58 $\mu$mol/100$m\ell$. And contents of mineral were order Na of 104.24 ppm, Mg of 14.31 ppm, K of 9.68 ppm, Fe of 2.36 ppm, Ca of 2.00 ppm, Zn of 0.13 ppm, Cu of 0.10 ppm and Mn of 0.01 ppm.

The Recycling of Inorganic Industrial Waste in Cement Industry (시멘트산업에서 무기질 산업 폐·부산물의 재활용)

  • In this study, generation process and properties of inorganic industrial waste which can be used in cement industry were investigated. The scheme of recycling to use the selected waste as raw materials, mineralizer and flux, admixture and raw materials for special cement was decided and then various experiments were carried out. The experimental results were as follows ; In the use of industrial waste as raw materials, ferrous materials could be substituted by Cu-slag, Zn-slag, electric arc furnace or convertor furnace slag etc., and a siliceous material could be substituted by sand from cast-iron industry. By-products from sugar or fertilizer industry, which has $CaF_2$ as the main component, and jarosite from Zn refinery enabled clinker phases to be formed at lower temperature by $100{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. Adding Cu slag and STS sludge in proper proportion to cement improved properties of cement. Fly ash and limestone powder as admixture had the same effect on cement. As a raw material for special cement, aluminium waste sludge could be used in making ultra early strength cement, which had the compressive strength of $300kg/cm^2$ within 2hours. And two different ashes from municipal incinerator could be raw materials of the cement which was mainly composed of $C_3S$ and $C_{11}A_7{\cdot}CaCl_2$ as clinker phases.
