폐 산업용 금속산화물계 촉매를 이용한 휘발성유기화합물의 제거 (Decomposition of Volatile Organic Compounds Using Regenerated Metal Oxide Catalysts)

  • Catalytic oxidation of benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX) using regenerated metal oxide catalysts (ZnO-CuO, NiO, $Fe_2O_3$, ZnO, CrO) were investigated in a fixed bed flow reactor to evaluate their feasibility for the purpose of removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Four kinds of pre-treatment methods such as gas (air and hydrogen), acid aqueous solution, alkali aqueous solution and cleaning agent were used to find out the optimal regeneration conditions. The physico-chemical properties of the used and regenerated catalysts were characterized by BET and TPR (Temperature Programmed Reduction). The used catalysts showed high conversion ratio and the catalytic ability of toluene oxidation was in the order of ZnO-CuO>$Fe_2O_3$>NiO>ZnO>CrO. We found that the acid aqueous pre-treatment (0.1 N HNO$_3$) was the best way to enhance the catalytic activity of $Fe_2O_3$. In addition, air and hydrogen gas treatment were optimal for NiO and ZnO-CuO catalysts, respectively. Furthermore, the decomposition of BTX depends on the type of a catalyst and a gas molecule.

Fabrication and Photocatalytic Properties of Visible Light Responsive Cuprous Oxide Cubes

  • The cuprous oxide cubes with the special porous surface constructed by nano-prisms have been successfully fabricated by a solvothermal method. The template-free method is simple and facile without any surfactant. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) pattern suggests that the as-prepared product is the pure primitive cubic $Cu_2O$. The effects of the experimental parameters, such as the reaction temperature, reaction time and the concentration of sodium acetate anhydrous, on the morphologies of the products were investigated in detail by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Based on the time-dependent experiments, the possible formation mechanism was proposed. Using photocatalytic degrading reactive dyes as the model reaction and xenon lamp to simulate sunlight, the $Cu_2O$ cubes with the porous surface might possess higher photocatalytic activity than those of the commercial $Cu_2O$ powder in the visible-light region, indicating the excellent photocatalytic performance.

The Effect of Small Additions of Zr, Cr, Mg, Al, and Si on the Oxidation of 6:4 Brass

  • The oxidation behavior of 60%Cu-40%Zn brass haying small amounts of Zr, Cr, Mg, Al, and Si was studied between 873 and 1043 K in air. The alloying element of Mg was harmful, while other alloying elements were beneficial to oxidation resistance. Particularly, the simultaneous addition of Al and Si decreased the oxidation rate drastically. During oxidation, Zr formed ZrO₂, Cr formed CuCr₂O₄, Mg formed MgO, Al formed A1₂CuO₄, and Si formed amorphous SiO₂. These oxides were incorporated in the oxide scale composed predominantly of ZnO. The oxide scales formed on all the tested alloyswere prone to cracking, wrinkling, and spallation.

산화물 분산강화 동합금의 열처리에 따른 미세조직 및 기계적 특성 변화 (Effect of Annealing on Microstructural and Mechanical Property Variation of the Oxide-Dispersion-Strengthened Cu alloy)

  • The alumina dispersion-strengthened (DS) C15715 Cu alloy fabricated by a powder metallurgy route was annealed at temperatures ranging from $800^{\circ}C\;to\;1000^{\circ}C$ in the air and in vacuum. The effect of the annealing on microstructural stability and room-temperature mechanical properties of the alloy was investigated. The microstructure of the cold rolled OS alloy remained stable until the annealing at $900^{\circ}C$ in the air and in vacuum. No recrystallization of original grains occurred, but the dislocation density decreased and newly formed subgrains were observed. The alloy annealed at $1000^{\circ}C$ in the air experienced recrystallization and grain growth took place, however annealing in vacuum at $1000^{\circ}C$ did not cause the microstructural change. The mechanical property of the alloy was changed slightly with the annealing if the microstructure remained stable. However, the strength of the specimen that was recrystallized decreased drastically.

  • Coulometric titration experiments have been done for copper doped cobaltous oxide (Co1-xCux)1-$\delta$ O with various dopant concentrations. We present the obtained experimental data and compare our results to those of previous thermogravimetric investigation. The experimental data are fitted by theoretical calculations based on various defect models. For this modeling, we considered different types fo major defects like copper in substitutional and interstitial lattice sites as well as copper vacancy. We also introduced the copper evaporation effect during titration experiment into our consideration.

Fabrication of $TiO_2$ Blocking Layers for CuSCN Based Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells by Atomic Layer Deposition Method

  • For enhancement of dye-sensitized solar cell performance, TiO2 blocking layer has been used to prevent recombination between electron and hole at the conducting oxide and electrolyte interface. In solid state dye-sensitized solar cells, it is necessary to fabricate pin-hole free TiO2 blocking layer. In this work, we deposited the TiO2 blocking layer on conducting oxide by atomic layer deposition and compared the efficiency. To compare the efficiency, we fabricate solid state dye-sensitized solar cell with using CuSCN as hole transport material. We see the efficiency improve with 40nm TiO2 blocking layer and the TiO2 blocking layer morphology was characterized by SEM. Also, we used this blocking layer in TiO2/Sb2S3/ CuSCN solar cell.

  • 반도체 소자의 집적화/소형화에 따라, 낮은 비저항을 가진 구리(Cu)를 이용한 배선공정에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 구리배선 공정에 있어 전기 도금법이 다양하게 적용됨에 따라, 구리도금 박막 형성을 위해 사용되는 Cu seed 층의 상태는 배선으로 형성된 Cu박막 특성에 크게 영향을 미친다 [1-3]. 본 연구에서는 sputter 방식으로 증착된 Cu seed 층(Cu seed / Ti / Si) 위에 형성된 자연산화막을 제거하기 위하여 다양한 세정방법을 도입하여 비교 분석하였다. 계면활성제인 TS-40A를 비롯한 NH4OH 용액과 H2SO4 용액을 사용하여 Cu seed 층 위에 형성된 구리산화막을 제거함으로서 형성된 표면형상 및 표면상태를 조사분석 하였다. FE-SEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope)을 이용하여 표면 처리된 Cu seed층 표면의 형상 및 roughness 등을 측정하였고, XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy)를 이용하여 표면 처리된 Cu seed 표면의 화학구조 및 불순물 상태를 조사하였다.

  • 동을 담지한 모더나이트를 이용하여 고정층 연속흐름 반응기에서 NO 분해와 CO에 의한 NO 환원을 실시하였다. NO 분해에서는 많은 동함량에서 $Cu^{\circ}/HM$이 CuO/HM보다 높은 분해 활성을 나타내었다. 이것은 $Cu^{\circ}/HM$과 CuO/HM에 존재하는 $Cu^{2+}$이온의 양과 CuO의 환원성 등의 차이에 관련된다고 보인다. NO 환원에서는 적은 동함량에서 Cuo/HM이 CuO/HM보다 높은 환원 활성을 나타내었다. 이것은 $Cu^{\circ}/HM$과 CuO/HM에 존재하는 CuO의 환원성과 입자 크기 등의 차이에 관련된다고 보인다.

인도네시아 잠비산 동광석의 부유선별 특성 연구 (Froth Flotation of Copper Ore from Jambi Deposit, Indonesia)

  • 인도네시아 잠비산 복합 동광석을 대상으로 고품위 동 정광생산을 위한 부유선별 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 시료는 대부분 탄산염인 공작석으로 이루어져 있으나, 일부 황화동이 존재하여 자연부유도가 높은 황화동을 먼저 부유선별에 의해 회수한 다음, 침강산물로부터 산화동 회수를 위한 공정을 적용하였다. 먼저 황화동 부유선별에서는 잔세이트(xanthate) 계열의 포수제인 AP-211과 AP-242를 1 : 1의 비율로 300 g/t 첨가하고, 광액 pH 6인 조건에서 Cu 품위와 회수율이 각각 57.7%와 9.5%인 동 정광을 얻었다. 그리고 침전된 산물을 대상으로 지방산 포수제인 올레인산을 300 g/t, 기포제 첨가량 50 g/t, 광액 pH 8.0, 그리고 정선횟수 2회인 조건에서 Cu의 품위와 회수율이 각각 30.8%와 92.1%인 결과를 얻었다. 회수된 황화동 및 산화동 정광을 합산한 결과 최종적으로 Cu의 품위와 회수율이 36.1%와 92.7%인 결과를 얻었다.

  • Recent advances in technology using ultra-thin noble metal film in oxide/metal/oxide structures have attracted attention because this material is a promising alternative to meet the needs of transparent conduction electrodes (TCE). AZO/Ag/AZO multilayer films are prepared by magnetron sputtering for Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) of kesterite solar cells. It is shown that the electrical and optical properties of the AZO/Ag/AZO multilayer films can be improved by the very low resistivity and surface plasmon effects due to the deposition of different thicknesses of Ag layer between oxide layers fixed at AZO 30 nm. The AZO/Ag/AZO multilayer films of Ag 15 nm show high mobility of 26.4 ㎠/Vs and low resistivity and sheet resistance of 3.5810-5 Ωcm and 5.0 Ω/sq. Also, the AZO/Ag (15 nm)/AZO multilayer film shows relatively high transmittance of more than 65 % in the visible region. Through this, we fabricated CZTSSe thin film solar cells with 7.51 % efficiency by improving the short-circuit current density and fill factor to 27.7 mV/㎠ and 62 %, respectively.
