유기감광체의 감광특성에 미치는 고분자의 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Polymer on the Photosensitive properties of organic Photoconductor)

  • The photosensitive properties and spectroscopic characteristics in the organic photoconductor(OPC) with carrier generation layer(CGL) of poly(vinylbutyral)(PVB) and polycarbonate(PC) doped with titanyl phthalocyanine(TiOPc) were investigated. The change of crystal structure of TiOPc dispersed with PVB and PC was shown by UV-visible reflective spectrum and FT-IR spectrum and mainly caused by the difference of solubility of solvent and the interaction between TiOPc and binder. The particle size of TiOPc dispersed with PVB measured by SEM was smaller than in PC. The crystal structure of TiOPc dispersed with PVB was amorphous type and in PC was $\alpha$type. It was found that the photosensitive properties of OPC were dependent on the change of absorbance and ionization potential of TiOPc occurred from the difference of crystal structure. In this work, the photosensitivity of OPC of TiOPc dispersed with PVB was better than PC due to the crystal type and the smaller particle size.

결정 소성 시뮬레이션을 이용한 프레팅 접촉에서의 마이크로 구조 영향에 관한 연구 (The Study of Microstructure Influence at Fretting Contacts using Crystal Plasticity Simulation)

  • The role of microstructure is quite significant in fretting of Ti-6Al-4V since its material properties depend strongly on crystallographic texture. In this study, we adopt crystal plasticity theory with a 2-D planar triple slip idealization to account fur microstructure effects such as grain orientation distribution, grain geometry, as well as $\alpha$ colony size. Crystal plasticity simulations suggest strong implications of microstructure effects at fretting contacts.

괴산지역 대야산 화강암체 주변 접촉변성대(황강리층)에서의 투휘석 결정 크기분포 (Diopside DSD (crystal size distribution) in the Contact Metamorphic Aureole (Hwanggangni Formation) near the Daeyasan Granite Goesan, Korea)

  • The CSD (crystal size distribution) of diopside crystals in the calc-silicate hornfels of the Hwanggangni Formation intruded by the Cretaceous Daeyasan granite shows the patterns of continuous nucleation and growth. There is correlation between the distance from the intrusion contact and the slopes from the linear part of log(population density) vs. size diagrams. In the log(population density) vs. size diagrams of the samples systematically collected from the intrusion contact, two different groups are recognized; the slopes for the samples near the intrusion contact (horizontal distance from the contact less than 50m) are gentler (1500$cm^{-1}$) than those for the samples away from the intrusion contact (2500$cm^{-1}$, distance from the contact greater than 100 m). These differences may reflect the differences in growth rates and crystallization time, or the differences in diopside-forming reactions. All of the log(population density) vs. size diagrams show depletion of smaller crystals. The observed depletion may be due to Ostwald ripening or the changes in nucleation rates as the reactant phases diminishes. Similar grouping is also possible for the observed degree of depletion of smaller crystals; the depletion decreases with increasing distance from the intrusion contact, suggesting temperature-dependent rates of Ostwald ripening.

  • So far, the design methods of quartz crystal resonator have been developed. Recently, as the electronic package and semiconductor modules become smaller, the need to minimize the sizes of crystal components grows larger. but Minimizing crystal plate sizes has limitations because its temperature-frequency characteristics is worse and unwanted resonances occur. so appropriate design of electrode size and crystal plates is necessary. In this palter, Two-dimensional governing equations for electroded piezoelectric crystal plates with general symmetry have been solved from deduced equations from three-dimensional equations of linear piezoelectricity in most cases. In practice, electroded piezoelectric crystal plates have three-dimensional geometry, so simplified 2-dimensional equations and 2-D modeling are insufficient for explaining its resonance modes and characteristics. So, three-dimensional FEM(finite element method) analysis is done and its effectiveness is verified from analyzing practical crystal resonator model.

Progress in Si crystal and wafer technologies

  • Progress in Si crystal and wafer technologies is discussed on single crystal growth, wafer fabrication, epitaxial growth, gettering, 300 mm and SOI. As for bulk crystal growth, the mechanism of grown-in defects (voids) formation, the succes of grown-in defect free crystal growth technology and nitrogen doped crystal are shown. New wafer fabrication technologies such as both-side mirror polishing and etchingless process have been developed. The epitaxial growth of SiGe/Si heterostructure for high speed bipolar device is treated. Gettering technology under low temperature process such as RTP is important, and also it is shown that IG effect for Ni could be predicted using computer simulation of precipitate density and size. The development of 300 mm wafer and SOI has made progress steadily.

Optimization of Emulsion Polymerization for Submicron-Sized Polymer Colloids towards Tunable Synthetic Opals

  • Submicron-sized polymeric colloidal particles can self assemble into 3-dimensional (3D) opal structure which is a useful template for photonic crystal. Narrowly dispersed polymer microspheres can be synthesized by emulsion polymerization in water using water-soluble radical initiator. In this report, we demonstrate a facile and reproducible emulsion polymerization method to prepare various polymeric microspheres within 200 - 400 nm size ranges which can be utilized as colloidal photonic crystal template. By controlling the amount of monomer and surfactant, monodisperse polymer colloids of polystyrene (PS) and acrylates with various sizes were successfully prepared without complicated synthetic procedures. Such polymer colloids self-assembled into 3D opal structure exhibiting bright colors by reflection of visible light. The colloidal particles and the resulting opal structures were rigorously characterized, and the wavelength of the structural color from the colloidal crystal was confirmed to have quantitative relationship with the size of constituting colloidal particles as predicted by Bragg equation. The tunability of the structural color was achieved not only by varying the particle size but also by infiltration of the colloidal crystal with liquids having different refractive indices.

탄산칼슘결정 생성에서 온도와 PAA 영향 (Influence of Temperature and PAA(PolyAcrylic Acid) Solution in the Formation of Calcium Carbonate Crystal)

  • 소다 공정에서 탄산칼슘 결정의 평균입경과 형상 변화를 온도변화와 PAA 용액의 첨가에 대하여 연구하였다. 낮은온도($30^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$)에서는 Calcite 결정을, 높은 온도($80^{\circ}C$)에서는 Aragonite 결정을 얻었다. $30^{\circ}C$$80^{\circ}C$에서 용액에 PAA 용액을 첨가하여도 결정의 형상변화는 없었다. 중간온도($60^{\circ}C$)에서 PAA 용액을 첨가하여 Aragonite 결정을 얻었다. 결정의 형상변화가 PAA 분자 첨가로 인하여 일어났다. PAA 용액의 농도가 높을수록, 더 많은 Aragonite 결정을 얻었다. PAA 수용액의 농도가 높고 분자량이 클수록 탄산칼슘 결정의 평균입경은 증대하였으며, 형상변화가 일어나는 영역에서는 PAA의 분자량이 평균입경변화에 중요한 변수가 된다.

  • Gradient enhanced theories of crystal plasticity enjoy great research interest. The focus of this work is on thermodynamically consistent modeling of grain size dependent hardening effects. In this contribution, we develop a model framework for damage coupled to gradient enhanced crystal thermoplasticity. The damage initiation is directly linked to the accumulated plastic slip. The theoretical setting is that of finite strains. Numerical results on single-crystalline metal showing the development of damage conclude the paper.
