  • Using random numbers to represent uncertainty and unpredictability is essential in many industries. This is crucial in disciplines like computer science, cryptography, and statistics where the use of randomness helps to guarantee the security and dependability of systems and procedures. In computer science, random number generation is used to generate passwords, keys, and other security tokens as well as to add randomness to algorithms and simulations. According to recent research, the hardware random number generators used in billions of Internet of Things devices do not produce enough entropy. This article describes how raw data gathered by IoT system sensors can be used to generate random numbers for cryptography systems and also examines the results of these random numbers. The results obtained have been validated by successfully passing the FIPS 140-1 and NIST 800-22 test suites.

  • Multimedia contents have been increasingly available over the Internet as wireless networks systems are continuously growing popular. Unlimited access from various users has led to unauthorized access of third parties or adversaries. This paper deals with the implementation of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) based user authentication for securing multimedia contents over the Internet. The ECC technique has been incorporated with the advanced encryption standard (AES) algorithm to ensure the complexity of the proposed authentication scheme and to guarantee authenticity of multimedia services.

  • MILP-based automatic search is the most common method in analyzing the security of cryptographic algorithms. However, this method brings many issues such as low efficiency due to the large size of the model, and the difficulty in finding the contradiction of the impossible differential distinguisher. To analyze the security of ESF algorithm, this paper introduces a simplified MILP-based search model of the differential distinguisher by reducing constrains of XOR and S-box operations, and variables by combining cyclic shift with its adjacent operations. Also, a new method to find contradictions of the impossible differential distinguisher is proposed by introducing temporary variables, which can avoid wrong and miss selection of contradictions. Based on a 9-round impossible differential distinguisher, 15-round attack of ESF can be achieved by extending forward and backward 3-round in single-key setting. Compared with existing results, the exact lower bound of differential active S-boxes in single-key setting for 10-round ESF are improved. Also, 2108 9-round impossible differential distinguishers in single-key setting and 14 12-round impossible differential distinguishers in related-key setting are obtained. Especially, the round of the discovered impossible differential distinguisher in related-key setting is the highest, and compared with the previous results, this attack achieves the highest round number in single-key setting.

  • Encryption technology is to hide information in a cyberspace built using a computer and to prevent third parties from changing it. If a malicious user accesses unauthorized device or application services on the Internet of objects, it may be exposed to various security threats such as data leakage, denial of service, and privacy violation. One way to deal with these security threats is to encrypt and deliver the data generated by a user. Encrypting data must be referred to a technique of changing data using a complicated algorithm so that no one else knows the content except for those with special knowledge. As computers process computations that can be done at a very high speed, current cryptographic techniques are vulnerable to future computer performance improvements. We designed and implemented a new encryption program that combines ancient and modern cryptography so that the user never knows about data management, and transmission. The significance of this paper is that it is the safest method to combine various kinds of encryption methods to secure the weaknesses of the used cryptographic algorithms.

  • In Asiacrypt 2003, Al-Riyami and Paterson proposed the notion of certificateless cryptography, a technique to remove key escrow from traditional identity-based cryptography as well as circumvent the certificate management problem of traditional public key cryptography. Subsequently much research has been done in the realm of certificateless encryption and signature schemes, but little to no work has been done for the identification primitive until 2013 when Chin et al. rigorously defined certificateless identification and proposed a concrete scheme. However Chin et al.'s scheme was proven in the random oracle model and Canetti et al. has shown that certain schemes provable secure in the random oracle model can be insecure when random oracles are replaced with actual hash functions. Therefore while having a proof in the random oracle model is better than having no proof at all, a scheme to be proven in the standard model would provide stronger security guarantees. In this paper, we propose the first certificateless identification scheme that is both efficient and show our proof of security in the standard model, that is without having to assume random oracles exist.

  • Recently, by the development of information technology, we can get various information from anywhere in real time. However, personal information is exposed to threats which may incur unwanted information leakage. Cryptography serves as a primary study to prevent this leakage. However, some theories of cryptography are based on complex mathematical theories which make many people confused. Therefore, in this paper, we develope a software which is helpful to understand RSA algorithm, which is widely used algorithm in digital signature to protect personal information.

  • The growth of mobile technology particularly smartphone applications such as ticketing, access control, and making payments are on the increase. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC)-based systems have also become widely available in the market offering various convenient services by bringing smartphones in proximity to ECC-enabled objects. When a system user attempts to establish a connection, the AIK sends hashes to a server that then verifies the values. ECC can be used with various operating systems in conjunction with other technologies such as biometric verification systems, smart cards, anti-virus programs, and firewalls. The use of Elliptic-curve cryptography ensures efficient verification and signing of security status verification reports which allows the system to take advantage of Trusted Computing Technologies. This paper proposes a device payment method based on ECC and Shuffling based on distributed key exchange. Our study focuses on the secure and efficient implementation of ECC in payment device. This novel approach is well secure against intruders and will prevent the unauthorized extraction of information from communication. It converts plaintext into ASCII value that leads to the point of curve, then after, it performs shuffling to encrypt and decrypt the data to generate secret shared key used by both sender and receiver.

  • The wireless sensor network (WSN) is well known for an enabling technology for the ubiquitous environment such as real-time surveillance system, habitat monitoring, home automation and healthcare applications. However, the WSN featuring wireless communication through air, a resource constraints device and irregular network topology, is threatened by malicious nodes such as eavesdropping, forgery, illegal modification or denial of services. For this reason, security in the WSN is key factor for utilizing the sensor network into the commercial way. There is a series of symmetric cryptography proposed by laboratory or industry for a long time. Among of them, recently proposed HUMMINGBIRD algorithm, motivated by the design of the well-known Enigma machine, is much more suitable to resource constrained devices, including smart card, sensor node and RFID tags in terms of computational complexity and block size. It also provides resistance to the most common attacks such as linear and differential cryptanalysis. In this paper, we implements ultra-lightweight cryptography, HUMMINGBIRD algorithm into the resource constrained device, sensor node as a perfectly customized design of sensor node.

  • This paper presents an energy-efficient (low power) prime-field hyperelliptic curve cryptography (HECC) processor with uniform power draw. The HECC processor performs divisor scalar multiplication on the Jacobian of genus 2 hyperelliptic curves defined over prime fields for arbitrary field and curve parameters. It supports the most frequent case of divisor doubling and addition. The optimized implementation, which is synthesized in a $0.13{\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology, performs an 81-bit divisor multiplication in 503 ms consuming only $6.55{\mu}J$ of energy (average power consumption is $12.76{\mu}W$). In addition, we present a technique to make the power consumption of the HECC processor more uniform and lower the peaks of its power consumption.

  • In this study, software-based countermeasures against a side-channel cryptanalysis of the Rabbit stream cipher were developed using Moteiv's Tmote Sky, a popular wireless sensor mote based on the Berkeley TelosB, as the target platform. The countermeasures build upon previous work by improving mask generation, masking and hiding other components of the algorithm, and introducing a key refreshment scheme. Our contribution brings improvements to previous countermeasures making the implementation resistant to higher-order attacks. Four functional metrics, namely resiliency, robustness, resistance, and scalability, were used for the assessment. Finally, performance costs were measured using memory usage and execution time. In this work, it was demonstrated that although attacks can be feasibly carried out on unprotected systems, the proposed countermeasures can also be feasibly developed and deployed on resource-constrained devices, such as wireless sensors.
