국내 부순모래의 물리적 성질과 입자 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Physical and Particle Properties of Crushed Sand in Korea)

  • Crushed sand is made by crushing the rocks artificially. With a wide shortage of natural river sand all over the region in Korea, demand for crushed sand are becoming increased. However, Informations as to crushed sand are insufficient. In this paper, the actual conditions of crushed sand related to producing and quality variation are investigated. 29 manufacturing company of crushed sand are reviewed. According to results, density of most crushed sand tested exceeded 2.5g/cm3, and absorption ratio meet the requirement of KS except one sample. For grain properties, passing amount of 0.08mm sieve satisfied the requirement of KS except one sample. Grain distribution of most crushed sand is estimated $54.26\%$. But 6 crushed sand sample did not meet the requirement of KS. Fineness modulus and grading are varied from manufacturing region. 18 samples of crushed sand among 29 samples deviated the minimum level of standard grading range by KS. Therefore, improvement of grain properties of crushed sand is urgently needed to manufacture better crushed sand.

수도권 부순모래의 품질현황 및 부순모래 대체율에 따른 콘크리트의 특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Properties of Crushed Sand in Capital Region and Concrete according to the Replacement Ratio of Crushed Sand)

  • Generally, aggregate may limit the workability, strength and durability of concrete, and good concrete cannot be made with aggregate of bad property including low strength, bad shape and grading. But recently, it has been insufficient in quantity to collect good natural aggregate because of exhaustion of aggregate resources. In case of Korea, the using ratio of crushed stone occupies about 97 percent of total coarse aggregate, and ratio of crushed sand occupies about 18.3 percent of total fine aggregate. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the properties of crushed sand for concrete in capital region and concrete according to the replacement ratio of crushed sand to improve quality and mix design of concrete using crushed sand. According to test results, it was found that nearly all the properties of crushed sand satisfied with the value recommended by KS. And it is recommended that FM of crushed sand should be lowered by improvement of manufacture system or grading adjustment should be used because FM of crushed sand was a bit higher.

  • Generally, aggregate may limit the strength of concrete, and aggregate with undesirable properties including strength, shape and grading etc. cannot produce good concrete. Also, the properties of aggregate greatly affect the durability and structural performance of concrete. Recently, it has increased the using of crushed aggregate for concrete due to the exhaustion of good natural aggregate. In case of Korea, the using ratio of crushed stone occupies about 97% of whole coarse aggregate, and ratio of crushed sand occupies about 18.3% of whole fine aggregate. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the properties of crushed sand for concrete in capital region and concrete according to the replacement ratio of crushed sand to do suitable mix design and improve the concrete quality. According to results, it was found that nearly all the properties of crushed sand satisfied with the value recommended by KS.

Study on the Fluidity and Strength Properties of High Performance Concrete Utilizing Crushed Sand

  • Recently, it has been difficult to get natural sand for concrete due to an insufficient supply in Korea. Crushed sand was thought as a substitute and previous research has been focused on low fluidity and normal compressive strength (24-30 MPa). Study on high performance concrete using crushed sand is hardly found in Korea. In this study it was investigated that the effect of the crushed sand on fluidity and compressive strength properties of high performance concrete. Blending crushed sand (FM: 3.98) produced in Namyangju, Kyunggido and sea sand (FM: 2.80) produced in Asan bay in Chungnam. The final FMs of fine aggregate were 3.50, 3.23, and 3.08. W/B was set as 0.25 to get high performance. With the test results an analysis of relationship was performed using a statistical program. It was shown that strength property of concrete using crushed aggregate at the very early age or after specific time was mainly affected by strength development properties of binders instead of the crushed sand.

  • Recently, Trouble of sand supply is occurred according to exhaustion of natural sand resources. therefore, various measures are proposed for solution of trouble of sand supply and crushed sand among measures is used as one of most universal measures. but because crushed sand have poor particle shape and plenty of makes micro particle, the quality of concrete using crushed sand deteriorated. Therefore, this study evaluated engineering property of concrete with replacement ratio of crushed sand and applied evaluation result to fundamental data for quality control of concrete using crushed sand. The result of this study have shown that quality of concrete using crushed sand independently is poor against general concrete. but, the concrete mixing crushed sand with general sand can be similar in workability of concrete used general sand and increase compressive strength of concrete as against concrete using general sand.

효율관점에서 흙/토목섬유 접촉면에서의 마찰특성 (Friction Behavior at the Soil/Geosynthetic Interface in Respect of Efficiency)

  • 본 연구에서는 효율의 관점에서 흙 자체의 전단강도 및 흙/토목섬유 상호간의 접촉면 마찰특성을 조사하기 위하여 대형직접전단시험을 수행하였다. 모래와 쇄석, 3종류의 지오텍스타일(즉, 2종류의 부직포와 1종류의 직포)을 시험에 사용하였다. 접촉면에서의 전단강도를 산정하는데 고려한 접촉면은 모래/모래, 쇄석/쇄석, 모래/직포, 쇄석/직포, 쇄석/부직포-A 그리고 쇄석/부직포-B 등이다. 연구결과, 모래/직포의 접촉면에서는 모래자체의 전단강도(즉, 모래/모래 접촉면)와 비교하여 84%의 효율을 얻었다. 쇄석/부직포-A, 쇄석/부직포-B, 쇄석/직포의 접촉면에서는 쇄석자체의 전단강도(즉, 쇄석/쇄석 접촉면)와 비교하여 각각 74%, 83%, 72%의 효율을 얻었다.

건식공정으로 생산한 부순 모래의 품질 및 콘크리트 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Quality of Crushed Sand by Dry Production Process and Its Influence on Properties of Concrete)

  • 콘크리트용 골재로 양질의 골재가 부족함에 따라 대체 골재의 개발이 요구되어, 현재에는 대체 골재로서 부순모래가 가장 많이 사용되고 있으며, 그 사용량은 더욱 늘어날 전망이다. 국내에서는 대부분의 회사가 습식공정으로 부순모래를 생산하지만, 지역적인 조건과 부지의 제약에 의해서 건식 공정으로 부순모래를 생산하는 회사도 있다. 본 연구에서는 건식 공정 부순모래의 콘크리트의 적용성을 평가하기 위한 기초적인 연구로서, 건식공정으로 부순모래를 생산하고 있는 회사의 제조 설비를 분석하고, 부순모래를 대상으로 한국산업규격에 의거하여 품질특성 시험을 실시하였으며, 그 결과를 바탕으로 부순모래를 바다모래에 대체하여 콘크리트 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 결과, 건식 부순모래 품질 특성 중에서 0.08mm 체 통과량이 KS 규정을 초과하였으며, 조립률도 천연모래에 비하여 다소 높게 나타났고, 다른 물리적 특성은 바다 모래와 유사하였다. 콘크리트 실험에서는 부순모래의 대체율이 증가함에 따라 슬럼프와 공기량이 미립분량 증가에 의해서 감소하였으며, 단위용적질량, 압축강도, 인장강도는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 건식 부순모래의 미립분 함유량을 감소시키면 콘크리트용 골재로서 사용하는 데에는 큰 문제가 없을 것으로 판단되며, 향후 건식공정으로 생산한 부순모래의 사용량도 증대될 것으로 전망된다.

화학법에 따른 쇄석골재의 알카리 반응성 분석 (A Study on the Alkali-Aggregate Reactivity in Crushed Stone by Chemical Method)

  • Since the first report on the damage of concrete structures due to alkali-aggregate reaction by T.E Stanton in 1940, cases of the damage are being reported in many countries. in the country, it is necessary to research the alkali-aggregate reaction of the crushed stone because of the short comings of natural aggregate and increasing needs of crushed stones. In this research, crushed stones from 63 local sites are collected and tested by ASTM C 289 chemical method.. The results show that most of the crushed stones are innocuous. However, the crushed stones from three sites are deleterious to the reaction by JIS A 5308. Petrographic and Mortar-Bar test will be carried out to find out any possibility of deleteriousness of the crushed stones

  • Recently, Trouble of sand supply is occurred according to exhaustion of natural sand resources. therefore, various measures are proposed for solution of trouble of sand supply. also the government settled trouble of sand supply through application of EEZ sand and crushed sand. but because both EEZ sand and crushed sand are poor against general sand, they lead to lowering of quality of ready-mixed concrete. Therefore, this study evaluated physical properties of mortar using EEZ sand and crushed sand and applied evaluation result to fundamental data The result of this study have shown that quality of mortar using EEZ sand and crushed sand independently is poor against general mortar. but, mortar flow and compressive strength is increased in case of mixing 222 sand and crushed sand properly.

부순모래 혼입률 변화에 따른 수중불분리성 콘크리트의 특성 연구 (Study on the Properties of Antiwashout Underwater Concrete with Variation of Blend Ratio of Crushed Sand)

  • In this study, crushed sand is blended with river sand and sea sand, to investigate the quality change of antiwashout underwater concrete with variation of blend ratio of crushed sand(0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%). To see experiment conclusion, the more blend ratio of crushed sand increases, the more unit weight increases. Because the for that specific gravity of crushed sand is higher comparatively than that of river sand and sea sand. Higher compressive strength is measured following the order of river sand, crushed sand, sea sand regardless of age and casting-curing condition. Except for case of using river sand, blend ratio of 40% is appeared on most compressive strength. So the optimum blend ratio of crushed sand is 40% from the view point of compressive strength.
