  • Understanding the crushing behaviour of aluminum honeycombs under dynamic loading is useful for crash simulations of vehicles and for design of impacting energy absorbers. In the study of honeycomb crushing under quasi-static, dynamic loading, the most important parameter is crush strength. Crush strength is indicated to energy absorption characteristic of aluminum honeycomb. In this study, Using Finite Element Analysis carried out crush strength of hexagonal aluminum honeycomb then the results was compared with Quasi-static test. Consequently, Crush strength is different in quasi-static loading and dynamic loading about 16%.

  • In this paper, the crush characteristic of the tilting train express M-car was estimated under a head-on collision scenario. The car body was divided into three parts - front, middle, and rear. For each part, crush-force relation was evaluated numerically using LS-DYNA 3-diementional shell element analysis. This result will be used for one-dimensional collision analysis of the full train rake.

  • Aircraft composite structure with honeycomb core experiences core crush problem in manufacturing. To prevent core crush additional processes are needed such as core stabilization and prepreg material tie-down and this is the cause of increasing cost. Recent study shows that high friction prepreg prevent core crush without additional process. This paper presents the analysis of high frictional material which attracts lots of interests through physical property, mechanical property and microscopic morphology and the cause of friction.

  • This paper proposed a new 2D multibody dynamic modeling technique to analyze overriding behavior taking place during train collision. This dynamic model is composed of nonlinear spring, damper and mass by considering the deformable characteristics of carbodies as well as energy absorbing structures and components. By solving this dynamic model of rollingstock, collision energy absorption capacity, acceleration of passenger sections, impact forces applied to interconnecting devices, and overriding displacements can be well estimated. For a case study, we choose KHST (Korean High Speed Train), obtained crush characteristic data of each carbody section from 3D finite element analysis, and established a 2D multibody dynamic model. This 2D dynamic model was suggested to describe the collision behavior of 3D Virtual Testing Model.

  • The ballast, one of track components, plays an essential role as intermedium in transmitting train load to subgrade safely, and the deterioration of ballast directly effects the growth of track irregularity. So far, gravel fining of ballast track was mainly related to the repetition of train loads, but was gradually increased with using MTT(Multiple Tie Tamper) recently. Therefore, in this study, an evaluation of the abrasion and crush process of ballast particles was performed with outdoor field test by MTT works. From this study, the amount of abrasion and crush of ballast particles appeared to increase linearly with MTT works, and the gradient of particle size distribution curve appeared to deviate gradually from a criterion of aggregated ballast size distribution in high-speed railroad.

기능성 골판지 포장재 KS규격표준화연구 (A Study on the KS standardization of functional corrugated fibreboard)

  • In order to keep a characteristic corrugated fibreboard of fruits and flowers, temperature and humidity change of corrugated fibreboard are analyzed. According to relative humidity rises at fixed temperature, bursting strength of corrugated fibreboard was fallen and double wall corrugated fibreboard appeared greatly the bursting strength decline rate than double faced corrugated fibreboard and edgewise compressive strength of paper more than humidity 80% in rapidly fall. A column crush test of paper became decrease in the high temperature and ordinary temperature strength did over humidity 70% rapidly fallen and strength decrease happened by low temperature 80% slowly fallen and later rapidly. According to ISO standard temperature humidity conditioning (23$\pm$2 , 50$\pm$2%) change, pulp composition difference as to the ring crush strength of a physical strength and generally compare to KS standard increased 5∼8% for the compressive strength, and wet strength reagent was increased 4% inside and out.

  • Due to environmental problem for reduction in fuel consumption, vehicle emission and etc., many automotive makers are trying to reduce the weight of the vehicle. The most effective way to reduce the weight of vehicle is to use lighter materials, aluminum, plastics. Aluminum Space Frame has many advantages in weight reduction, body stiffness, ease of model change and so on. So, most of automotive manufacturers are attempting to develope Aluminum Space Frame body. For these reasons, we have developed Aluminum Intensive Vehicle based on steel monocoque body with Hyundai Motor Company. We achieved about 30% weight reduction, the stiffness of our model was higher than that of conventional steel monocoque body. In this paper, with optimization using FEM analysis, we could get more weight reduction and body stiffness increase. In the long run, we analyzed by means of simulation using PAM-CRASH to evaluate crush and crash characteristic of Aluminum Intensive Vehicle in comparison to steel monocoque automotive.

파이로 테크닉 점화기의 노화 성능 평가 (Evaluation of the Aging Effects on the Performance of the Pyrotechnic Igniter)

  • 점화기의 성능에 미치는 노화의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 12년, 15년, 16년 경과된 활성 모타로부터 점화기를 분해하여 점화제의 특성 값을 측정하고 점화기의 연소 시험을 하였다. 점화제인 B/$KNO_3$ 펠렛의 수분 함량, 외형 치수, 분쇄 강도, 열 분해 특성, 발열량 등을 측정한 결과, 노화 기간에 비례하여 분쇄 강도는 다소 증가하였고 발열량은 감소하였으나 그 외의 특성 값들은 변화가 없었다. 밀폐 용기 시험과 비활성 모타 연소 시험 결과, 노화된 점화제의 연소 속도는 약 10% 증가하였고, P-t 곡선의 압력을 적분한 값 $P_t$는 약 15% 감소하였다. 연소 속도는 점화제에 균열이 발생할 경우 증가하고 $P_t$는 폭발 열량에 비례하여 감소함을 추론할 수 있었다.

침상 코크스의 피치 코팅에 따른 리튬 이차전지 탄소계 음극소재의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Needle Coke through a Simple Carbon Coating Process for Lithium Ion Battery)

  • 흑연 소재는 높은 구조적 안정성 및 낮은 가격으로 리튬 이차전지 음극소재로 이용되고 있다. 또한, 탄소 소재의 낮은 속도 특성을 개선하려는 탄소 코팅 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 탄소 코팅은 화학적 반응을 이용하는 CVD 코팅, 용매를 사용하는 습식 코팅, 기계적 충돌에 의한 건식 코팅으로 나뉜다. 본 논문에서는 습식 코팅 공정에서 사용 용매에 따라 탄소 전구체(피치)의 일부만 사용될 수 있는 문제와 용매 제거에 의한 환경 문제를 해결하고자 건식 공정인 고속 분쇄/코팅 공정을 이용하여 리튬 이차전지 음극용 탄소 소재를 제조하였다. 침상 코크스와 피치의 무게비는 8 : 2 wt.%으로 하고, 고속 분쇄/코팅 공정을 이용하여 침상 코크스의 분쇄와 피치의 코팅을 통한 구상화를 진행하였을 때, 침상 코크스의 모서리 면이 피치로 코팅되는 것을 확인하였다. 이 소재를 2400 ℃ 고온 열처리를 진행한 결과 피치 코팅되지 않은 소재와 비교하여 초기용량과 효율은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 10C/0.1C 속도 특성에서 41.8%의 성능이 향상되었다. 고속 분쇄/코팅 공정을 통해 제조된 소재는 고속 방전용 리튬 이차전지 음극 소재에 사용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
