Although Jeju is the best cruise Secondary port in Northeast Asia, currently there are no dedicated cruise terminals. The port international passenger terminal opened in 2015 has a ferry terminal for offshore passengers and a cruise passenger function. Jeju Island is therefore constructing a cruise only terminal with the aim of opening in 2018 to meet the growing passenger demand at the Seoguipo civilian and public ports along with construction of a naval base at Gangjeong Port in Seogwipo City. It also plans to build cruise docks and cruise terminals in the Jeju New Port according to the Jeju port construction basic plan. However, during the construction and planning process of cruise terminals in Jeju, the adequacy of the terminal size is being debated and the immigration facilities are being operated. Therefore, the study analyzed the size of terminals and operation of immigration facilities appropriate for cruise passenger demand by investigating the status of cruise related facilities and operation in Jeju area. Based on this, the Commission hopes to explore the rational direction of the cruise terminal plan to revive the cruise industry in Jeju and provide high quality service to cruise passengers.
Despite the remarkable continual growth of the world cruise industry, studies have yet to be attempted on many revenue management problems in cruise operations. This paper suggests two schemes that can be easily applied to cruise revenue management: optimal dual pricing and passenger safety level. In optimal dual pricing, a pair of higher and lower prices is applied to cabin reservation through market segmentation. This scheme can be executed with a linear price-response function for the current unreserved cabins. A cruise line could benefit from this scheme to maximize reservation revenue while attaining full occupancy. The dual pricing scheme is also devised to produce only integer demands to suit real management practices. The life boat capacity is an additional service capacity unique to the cruise industry, catering to passengers' safety. The concept of passenger safety level is defined and computed for any passenger life boat capacity of a cruise ship. It can be used to evaluate the passenger safety of a cruise ship in operation, as well as to determine the number of life boat seats required for a new cruise ship. Hypothetical examples are used to illustrate the operation of these two schemes.
This paper presents a decision making model for the cruise ship management. A network based optimization model has been developed for a single cruise ship operation. It gives optimal itinerary patterns over the planning period for the cruise ship managers wanting to maximize profit from the cruise ship operation. A network solution method to find the optimal solution is also developed. This network model can be equivalently transformed into a linear programming model, which makes the implementation of the model quite practical however complicated the given set of possible itineraries may be. The ship scheduling network developed in this study can also be used as a general framework to describe all possible cruise ship itineraries the cruise ship manager can figure out.

These days, the cruise tourist industry is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing components of the leisure industry in the world. Therefore, the cruise ship with ubiquitous technology is expected to enhance the operation efficiency of the ship. It can also provide valuable addition to the ship's service as well as high quality of life to crews and passengers. Since a large number of passengers are dwelling in cruise ship, all passengers are not easy to use ship's facilities, such as restaurants, fitness center, swimming pool and spa at anytime they want. In this paper, passenger service system in ship environment is tested in similar environment and under ship operation condition. We have proposed three applications of ubiquitous technology using Zigbee communication and LabView program.
In the paper, a cruise control system developed for the automobile with automated mechanical transmission (AMT) is introduced. After the AMT is concisely depicted, the paper details the functions, the points of the work, the principle of operation and the design course of the cruise control system.
This study developed an optimization model, defined as the IPS (Itinerary for Passenger Satisfaction), for a cruise ship to identify an itinerary that maximizes passenger satisfaction. A 0-1 integer programming model was developed to provide an optimal sequence of ports of call, assigning a destination to each day of the cruise. The concepts of the destination access network and the neighborhood of a destination were designed and manipulated to organize the complex network of destinations so that each next destination is selected within a practical overnight sail. The developed model can also be viewed as a reduced variant of the traveling salesperson problem with less constraints. A set of example tests shows that practical scenarios of the IPS with moderate cruise duration can be easily solved with light computation loads. Considering cruise ship passengers usually make their decisions not relying on only one destination but on an itinerary in its entirety, the purpose of this study was to identify itinerary alternatives to attract potential cruise passengers for attaining maximum occupancy level.

Recently, the number of tourists using cruise ships in Korea is increasing. and an big cruise ship with an gross tonnage of 160,000 tons or more has entered the domestic ports. Therefore, the government has been making a lot of efforts to confirm the cruise infrastructure for revitalization of the domestic cruise industry. However, there are no standards for cruise ship specifications and water facilities in the domestic port and fishery design standards. Currently, construction of dedicated cruise facilities is under way in major domestic ports. However, due to lack of specifications and domestic standards for cruise ships, it is difficult to design and license special facilities. Therefore, in this study, PIANC rule and domestic harbor and designing standard of fishing port were compared and analyzed in order to present the standard specification of cruise ships. And analyzed the representative linearity of cruises currently being operated. As a result of the ship characteristics analysis, There was a difference in coastal passenger ship in specifications and ship maneuverability. Therefore, in order to design facilities dedicated to cruising, the specifications of the target ship must be included in the domestic design standard. In addition, in order to calculate the scope of the target ship, I applied the coverage rate of 75% to the average specification value of the cruise ship and presented the standards of the cruise ship and the standard of the water area facilities.
Tropical Atmosphere Ocean/Triangle Trans-Ocean Buoy Network (TAO/TRITON) Array is the series of buoys for the international ocean research project, which is mostly supported by National Ocean and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) and Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). We can determine the effect of the equatorial and Pacific Ocean conditions on global climate change from buoy array measurement data. The TAO/TRITON array comprises around 70 measurement buoys from $10^{\circ}$ north to $10^{\circ}$ south in the tropics and between Galpagos and New Guinea. NOAA maintains ATLAS buoys in the central and eastern Pacific between $165^{\circ}E$ and $95^{\circ}W$, and JAMSTEC maintains the 12 buoys in the western Pacific along $137^{\circ}E$, $147^{\circ}E$, and $156^{\circ}E$. The KA-10-03 cruise excursion provided us with a good opportunity to obtain knowledge on oceanic buoy operation and maintenance. Further, we learned advanced techniques and know-how on buoy operation and maintenance. Once we are confident with our buoy management and maintenance techniques, both KORDI and NOAA technicians may be able to help each other when needed and share available resources.

Stow-net is originally spreaded with a lifting beam and a depressing beam. The net is improved by using canvas-made spreading devices by Mr. Han and his colleagues in the beginning of 1980's. The net is improved again by changing the partial shape of netting and arrangement of net pendants so as to be fitting with the actual performance of the net by Dr. Lee and his colleagues since 1988. The author studied to compare the fishing efficiency of those two kinds of nets(The former which was improve by Mr. Han is expressed as a traditional net and the latter improved again by Dr. Lee is expressed as an improved net in the present study). Twenty-one stow-netters concerned with the present study were selected among those based on the Port of Inchon, and were classified into two groups-eleven of them are a traditional net used group and ten are an improved net used group. The data on the fishing operation from August 1992 to March 1993, including the catch, the price of sell, the fishing operated times in every cruise and the fished position noticed by every stow-netter were offered by concerned stow-netters. From the data the times of operation, catch and value in every cruise were extracted and analyzed. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. The times of operation in cruise were 13.7 by the traditional net used group and 12.7 by the improved net used group. 2. The mean catch per cruise showed 10.1M/T in the traditional net used group and 12.2M/T in the improved net used group, so the latter showed 21% better. 3. The mean catch per operation showed 0.7M/T in the traditional net used group and 0.9M/T in the improved net used group, so the latter showed 28% better. 4. The rate of three important species(starks, hair tail and croakers) in the total catch showed 83%, and the catch showed greater by the improved net used group at the rate of starks 141%, hair tail 110%, croakers 107%. 5. The rate of three important species in the total price showed 82%, but the price of starks which occupied the biggest in catch showed merely 5%, then the economical efficiency appeared low. 6. The mean price per stow-netter and per operation showed about 20%, greater respectively by the improved net used group and the mean price per operation by two important species(hair tail and croakers) showed greater about 30% by the improved net used group.

The energy management of an HEV using optimal control and global optimization is thought to be closest to the best operation of the system. However, there are some controversies on the ways of defining the optimization problems and constituting the optimal control simulators. Here, we presented a simulator which adopts the concept of equivalent fuel economy and leads the vehicle to run in a more efficient way. In order to realize the optimal operation of the HEV and check the validity of the control logics, we also developed a forward-facing simulator. The simulator was developed with the Cruise and MATLAB co-simulation interface. Especially, neural network controller was used for the hybrid control module in the simulator. With the simulator, the optimal operation could be converted into hybrid control rules and the validity of the operation was verified.
