Target signal detection using MUSIC spectrum in noise environments (MUSIC 스펙트럼을 이용한 잡음환경에서의 목표 신호 구간 검출)

  • In this paper, a target signal detection method using multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm is proposed. The MUSIC algorithm is a subspace-based direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method. Using the inverse of the eigenvalue-weighted eigen spectra, the algorithm detects the DOAs of multiple sources. To apply the algorithm in target signal detection for GSC-based beamforming, we utilize its spectral response for the DOA of the target source in noisy conditions. The performance of the proposed target signal detection method is compared with those of the normalized cross-correlation (NCC), the fixed beamforming, and the power ratio method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the conventional ones in receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves.

  • 본 논문에서는 출력만의 측정에 의해 실험적 모우드 해석을 하기 위한 구체적 인 절차를 제시하고 선반의 오무드 해석에 적용하였다. 먼저 이 방법의 타당성을 조 사하기 위해 가진기로 가진력을 가하면서 입출력을 모두 기록한 후 출력만에 의한 해 석결과와 입출력을 모두 이용하는 주파수 응답함수법에 의한 결과들을 비교하였으며, 엄밀한 의미에서 가진력을 측정하기 하기 어려운 상황인 실제선삭작업중에 출력인 가 속도 신호만을 측정하여 본 방법을 적용하였다.

  • A Dual Sensor Wiener Filter technique was used to improve the image quality of the scanning type digital radiographic system (resolution and SNR). In this method, two images were acquried simultaneously using two sensors with high and low resolution and SNR values. Using the cross Power spectrum between dual sensor outputs of the same chest radiographic image. we design a new type of Wiener Filter and implement it with fast algorithm. We compared the performance of this new dual sensor filter with conventional single sensor filters (Wiener Filter and Parametric Projec- tion Filter) . In simulation studies, it is shown that this new method has SNR improvement of 1-3 dB better than conventional filters.

한일상관센터 현황

  • 한국천문연구원과 일본국립천문대는 2006년부터 한일공동으로 한일공동VLBI상관기(KJJVC)를 개발하였다. 한일상관센터(KJCC)에 각 구성시스템을 설치한 후 최근까지 시험운영을 수행하였으나 한일공동VLBI상관기의 핵심인 VLBI상관서브시스템(VCS)에서 프린지회전 모듈이 정상적으로 동작하지 않는 것을 발견하여, 일본국립천문대 및 제작사와 함께 이 문제를 해결하였다. 프린지 회전모듈의 문제점은 상관결과를 AIPS 등에서 분석하면, Fringe fitting후에 Cross-power spectrum의 진폭과 위상성분이 고주파 영역에서 감쇠하는 현상이다. 본 발표에서는 VCS 프린지 회전모듈의 문제점 해결과 KJJVC를 구성하는 각 구성시스템의 현황, 그리고 운영에 대해 간략히 기술한다.

Performance Improvement of Sound Direction of Arrival Estimation by Applying Threshold to CPSP (CPSP 문턱값 설정을 통한 음원도달 방향 추정 성능 개선)

  • To estimate sound direction of arrival with a pair of microphones, a method based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) estimation using the Cross Power Spectrum Phase (CPSP) function is largely used due to its simplicity and good performance. In this paper, we investigate CPSP maximum values for various SNRs and adverse environments, and propose a novel method to improve the estimation performance of sound direction of arrival. The proposed method applies a threshold to the CPSP values and increases the reliability of the estimated sound direction. Through computer simulation for various SNRs, we validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. When the threshold was set to 0.1, more than 90% of success rate of sound direction of arrival estimation has been achieved for directions of $10^{\circ}$, $40^{\circ}$, $70^{\circ}$ from the source location even with reverberation times of 0.1s.

  • The performance of MTI signal processors against composite clutter depends not only on the power density functions of the clutter spectrum, but also on the average radar cross sections and the average doppler frequencies of each clutter. In this paper the effect of composite clutter composed of different kinds of clutter such as ground and weather on the MTI signal processors, is compared in terms of MTI improvement factors and the method of comparison is provided.

  • Intracavity second harmonic generation of diode pumped solid state lasers in the visible and ultraviolet regions provide efficient, compact and robust light sources for various applications, such as optical data storage, material processing, spectroscopy and bioanalysis. Advantages of neodymium vanadate (Nd:$YVO_4$) as a gain medium for intracavity-doubled lasers over Nd:YAG lie in the facts that the gain spectrum consists of a single line with short absorption depth, and that the stimulated emission cross sections are larger.   • Two-photon fluorescence microscopy was performed on the enamel-dentin junction area of a human tooth using a femtosecond pulsed laser. We obtained a clear image contrast between the bright dentin and dark tubules with the autofluorescence generated from the endogenous fluorophores in dentin. The autofluorescence shows a broad spectrum due to complex cross links between dentinal collagens, which extend from blue to orange wavelengths (470-590 nm), but a gradual autofluorescence loss in photobleaching was observed for a long-term exposure under strong excitation. For increasing excitation power, we found that two-step decay becomes significant in the spectrally integrated autofluorescence.

An Abnormal Breakpoint Data Positioning Method of Wireless Sensor Network Based on Signal Reconstruction

  • The existence of abnormal breakpoint data leads to poor channel balance in wireless sensor networks (WSN). To enhance the communication quality of WSNs, a method for positioning abnormal breakpoint data in WSNs on the basis of signal reconstruction is studied. The WSN signal is collected using compressed sensing theory; the common part of the associated data set is mined by exchanging common information among the cluster head nodes, and the independent parts are updated within each cluster head node. To solve the non-convergence problem in the distributed computing, the approximate term is introduced into the optimization objective function to make the sub-optimization problem strictly convex. And the decompressed sensing signal reconstruction problem is addressed by the alternating direction multiplier method to realize the distributed signal reconstruction of WSNs. Based on the reconstructed WSN signal, the abnormal breakpoint data is located according to the characteristic information of the cross-power spectrum. The proposed method can accurately acquire and reconstruct the signal, reduce the bit error rate during signal transmission, and enhance the communication quality of the experimental object.

Effects of Number of Sides on Aerodynamic Characteristics of Super-Tall Buildings (단면의 변의 수가 초고층 건물의 공력특성에 미치는 영향)

  • A series of wind tunnel tests were conducted on 7 super-tall buildings with various polygon cross-sections, including triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, dodecagon, and circular. The primary purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of increasing number of sides on aerodynamic characteristics for super-tall buildings. Wind tunnel tests were conducted under the turbulent boundary layers whose power-law exponent is 0.27. Fluctuating wind pressures from more than 200 pressure taps were recorded simultaneously, and time series of overturning moments were calculated considering tributary area of each pressure tap. The results show that the overturning moment coefficients and the spectral values decrease with increasing number of sides, and the largest mean and fluctuating overturning moments were found for the triangular super-tall building, and the largest spectral values were found for the square super-tall building. The analysis should be conducted more in detail, but currently it can be roughly said that there seems to be a little differences in the aerodynamic characteristics for the super-tall buildings whose number of sides is larger than 5 or 6.
