  • Empirical evidence on the maintainability of object-oriented systems is far from conclusive, partly due to lack of representativeness of the subjects and systems used in the study. The present research empirically examined this issue with the systems that are mission-critical. currently operational and maintained by professionals. It was found that the 00 group appeared to consume less time while maintaining more amount of software artifacts than the NOO counterpart. This economical utilization of time appeared evident regardless of software development life cycle. This was due to the usefulness of UML for impact analysis which contributed to effective comprehension and communication. Insufficient design specifications led to ambiguity and costly defects in transferring design solutions to development. Also. the encapsulation of 00 seemed to reduce mental loads at maintenance tasks and improved code reuse. However, the number of files to manage increased and thus. dependency management is required for the 00 systems.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of chest physiotherapies on intensive care unit patients mechanical ventilated. Methods: Good lung down position, chest percussion, postural drainage was applied to patients who admitted to ICU. Each patients divided into four groups and each group received different treatments. Sputum amount, lung compliance, tidal volume and oxygen saturation were measured before treatment and immediately, and time flowing. Data was analyzed with frequency, percentage, ANOVA and paired t-test using via SPSSWIN 12.0 program. Results: There were significant differences in variables each characteristics of subjects. Chest percussion increased tidal volume, static lung compliance for the mean time. Desaturation related to suction. Conclusion: Chest percussion influences on lung compliance. Based on this study results and limitation, this study suggests repeated studies in various groups

  • Positive and negative coronas in point-to-plane short gap have been investigated with the variations of point radius and gap length. Mainly the onset potentials and current pulses under various conditions were measured with a 70 MHz C.R.O. and a precise-controllable D.C. power supply. In the case of negative corona, the Trichel pulse corona, glow corona and spark regions were distinguished apparently and the critical gap lengths between them were also found clearly. In the case of positive corona, there are streamer corona, spark regions and the critical gap length between them, too. The current pulse forms of Trichel pulse corona of negative and streamer pulse corona of positive are similar in rising time, peak-to-peak time and pulse width. The glow corona current shows D.C. component in form.

  • This paper presents an application of Kohonen neural networks to assess the dynamic security of power systems. The dynamic security assessment(DSA) is an important factor in power system operation, but conventional techniques have not achieved the desired speed and accuracy. The critical clearing time(CCT) is an attribute which provides significant information about the quality of the post-fault system behaviour. The function of Kohonen networks is a mapping of the pre-fault system conditions into the neurons based on the CCTs. The power flow on each line is used as the input data, and an activated output neuron has information of the CCT of each contingency. The trajectory of the activated neurons during load changes can be used in on-line DSA efficiently. The applicability of the proposed method is demonstrated using a 9-bus example.

  • This paper focuses on automated generation of the knowledge base for a fuzzy network performance manager in order to satisfy delay constraints imposed on time-critical messages while maintaining as much network capacity as possible for non-time-critical messages. Therefore, the bowlegs base is formulated to minimize a certain penalty function by using a type of genetic algorithm. The efficacy of the formulation method has been demonstrated by a series of simulation experiments.

  • This paper focuses on development and implementation of a performance management algorithm for IEEE802.4 token bus networks to serve large-scale integrated manufacturing systems. Such factory automation networks have to satisgy delay constraints imposed on time-critical messages while maintaining as much network capacity as possible for non-time-critical messages. This paper presents a network perfomance manager that adjusts queue apacity as well as timers by using a set of fuzzy rules and fuzzy inference mechanism. The efficacy of the performance management has been demonstrated by a series of simulation experiments.

  • This study were predicted the corrosion threshold reached at steel reinforcement in latex modified concrete(LMC) which were applied the agricultural hydraulic concrete structures. Accelerated testing was accomplished to the evaluate the diffusion coefficient of LMC mix, and the time dependent constants of diffusion. Also, the average chloride diffusion coefficient was estimated. From the average chloride ion diffusion coefficient, the time which critical chloride contents at depth of reinforcement steel was estimated. Test results indicated that the corrosion threshold reached at reinforcement in LMC were effected on the mix proportion factor including cement contents, latex content, and water-cement ratio. Especially, the average chloride diffusion coefficient, the corrosion threshold reached at reinforcement in LMC were affected by the all mix proportion factor.

  • In this paper, BLC adder/subtractor and MTG adder which can be used as a fundamental operation block in VLSI processors are designed, and their structural and electrical characteristics are analyzed and compared. Also, two circuits are fabricated usign 2\ulcorner CMOS process and their time delays for critical paths are measured. For 8 bit binary addition, the measured critical delays for MSB sum of the BLC adder/subtractor are 26 nsec for rising delay and 32nsec for falling. Those for MSB carry out of the MTG adder are 28nsed and 38nsec, respectively. The BLC adder/subtractor has a layout area which is 4 times larger than the MTG adder, and a fast operation speed. On the contrary, the MTG adder has a small layout area and a large time delay.

  • The volume and depth of the craters produced on silicon samples during high power laser ablation show a strong nonlinear change as the laser irradiance increases across a threshold value, approximately 2.2$\times$10$\^$10/ W/㎠. Time-resolved shadowgraph images of the ablation plume reveal the ejection of large particulates from the sample for laser irradiance above the threshold, with a time delay of about 300-400 ㎱. The numerically estimated thickness of the superheated liquid layer, considering the transformation of liquid metal into liquid dielectric near the critical state, agrees with the measured agrees with crater depths. It is suggested that a phase explosion of the deep superheated liquid layer near the critical state is responsible for the measured sudden increase of crater volume and the ejection of large particulates.

  • In the paper, we described a new visual telephone system to solve the unsatisfactory items of existing systems based on H.320. The system has a differential task interrupt transfer feature for real time video phone service. Owing to the result of interrupt transfer of different speed according to the time critical degree of tasks, the flow of audio and video data stream can be kept as constant speed.
