This study aims to explore improvement measures for the linkage system between the police and social welfare agencies in responding to domestic violence and child abuse issues in South Korea by comparing and analyzing the current systems in South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Despite the legal and institutional foundations for victim protection and perpetrator correction in each country, the effectiveness of actual cooperation faces several limitations. In South Korea, the level of cooperation is insufficient due to the lack of information sharing, role conflicts, and ambiguity of cooperation procedures. The United States and the United Kingdom operate more systematic cooperation programs, showing notable achievements in mental health crisis intervention and domestic violence response. To improve the linkage system in South Korea, this study proposes the following measures: (1) developing a clear cooperation protocol, (2) conducting regular education and training programs, (3) establishing an integrated information system, and (4) strengthening the victim-centered approach. Implementing these measures will contribute to more effective responses to domestic violence and child abuse issues, ultimately leading to a healthier and safer society by reducing social costs through victim protection and perpetrator correction.

This study conducts an analysis to verify an existence of co-movement among the exchange rates of Yuan-Dollar, Yen-Dollar and Won-Dollar by using time series data. An analysis period is divided into two periods. Therefore the first analysis period is from Dec. 17, 1997 to Jul. 21th. 20, 2005 and the second analysis period is from Jul. 25th, 2005 to Nov. 20th. 2009. This paper uses VAR model and daily data of exchange rates during the period. According to the result of an empirical analysis, yuan-dollar exchange rate has affected by th other variables ; yen-dollar exchange rate. It can be proved by result of an impulse response test and variance decomposition test in the second period. Therefore the won-dollar, yen-dollar, and Yen-dollar exchange rate has been influenced each other and the relationship will be maintained.

In the pandemic crisis, many governments implemented harsh interventions that might contradict democratic values and civil liberties. In Taiwan, the debate over whether or not to reveal personal information of infected persons to limit the coronavirus's spread poses the democratic dilemma between public health and civil liberties. This study examines whether and explains how Taiwan's people respond to the choice between individual privacy and collective security. We used survey data gathered in May 2020 to show that, first, the democratic values did not deter the pursuit of collective safety at the cost of civil liberty; rather, people with higher social trust were more likely to give up their civil liberties in exchange for public safety. Second, people who support democratic values and pursue collective security tend to avoid violating privacy by opposing the release of personal information. This study proves that democratic values do not necessarily threaten collective safety and that the pursuit of common good can co-exist with personal privacy.

안보, 재난, 국가핵심기반 분야에 위기발생시 즉각적인 조치를 위한 '위기대응 실무매뉴얼'이 정부기관별로 작성되어 있지만 조치사항에 대한 정량적 검증이 부족하다. 오류가 내포된 조치절차는 피해를 확대 시킬 수 있으므로 위기대응절차에 대한 검증이 요구되며 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 Statemate의 구조적, 기능적, 행위적 관점의 언어를 활용해서 정형기법(formal methods)을 수행함으로써 위기 대응 실무매뉴얼의 모델링 방법을 제안하고 매뉴얼에 기술되어 있는 조치절차의 검증결과를 제시하였다.

With the rapid urbanization and growing energy use intensity in the built environment, the glazed curtainwall has become ever more important in the architectural practice and environmental stewardship. Besides its energy efficiency roles, window has been an important transparent component for daylight penetration and a view-out for occupant satisfaction. In response to the climate crisis caused by the built environment, this research focuses on the study of net-zero energy retrofitting by using a new building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) curtainwall as a sustainable alternative to conventional window systems. Design variables such as building orientations, climate zones, energy attributes of BIPV curtainwalls, and glazed area were studied, to minimize energy consumption and discomfort hours for three cities representing hot (Miami, FL), mixed (Charlotte, NC), and cold (Minneapolis, MN). Parametric analysis and Pareto solutions are presented to provide a comprehensive explanation of the correlation between design variables and performance objectives for net-zero energy retrofitting applications.

"In the United States, you almost never say that virtue is beautiful," Alexis de Tocqueville reports in Democracy in America. Yet Ralph Waldo Emerson, arguably the most prominent American moralist in the nineteenth century, stands as an exception to Tocqueville's generalization. This article explores Emerson's perspective on beauty in the moral education of democratic citizens. His interest in this aesthetic category partly stemmed from his deep concern about both the moral inaction and interest politics in commercial culture. As a response to the crisis, Emerson conceived ethical beauty as a key promoter of public-minded democratic citizenship as exemplified by the American abolitionists, and his own practice as a poetic moralist further illustrates this belief. Emerson's aesthetic approach to the cultivation of public virtue in liberal democracy offers a meaningful comparison to contemporary neo-Tocquevillian emphasis on the language of interest or duty.

위기대응 매뉴얼은 지진, 태풍 등 상황에 적절하게 적용되며 신뢰성 있게 작동한다는 것이 보장되어야 한다. 따라서 위기대응 매뉴얼의 검증은 필수적이며, 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 정형기법 도구인 Statemate를 이용한 명세, 검증 및 신뢰성 개선방안을 제시한다. 모델체킹을 통해서 매뉴얼 사용자들의 임의적인 판단을 일의킬 수 있는 Non-Determinism과 대응 매뉴얼이 달성하고자 하는 목표의 도달여부에 대해 검증을 수행할 수 있으며, 이외에도 사용자가 원하는 검증 속성을 Temporal Logic으로 작성해서 검증할 수 있다. 또한 도구에서 지원하는 시뮬레이션을 통해 제한적이지만 조치내용의 적절성 여부와 추가적으로 발생 가능한 트리거를 찾음으로써 위기대응 매뉴얼의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다.

해상교통혼잡도와 선박사고는 연관성이 높다. 이에 본 논문은 자본 등의 이유로 위기상황 대응에 취약한 소형 선박에 특정된 위험을 인식하고, 유사시 일부 선착장으로 선박이 집중되는 것을 방지하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 안드로이드 APP과 클라우드 서비스, 알고리즘을 통해 최적의 정박지 및 경로를 제공함으로써 소형 선박이 향후 위기상황에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The importance of ecosystem service such as green spaces has risen due to restrictions on outdoor activities amid the climate crisis and COVID-19. While gardens significantly impact economic development, quality of life, and social well-being, comprehensive studies on their multidimensional values are lacking. This research categorizes garden values into social, cultural, environmental, and health dimensions and proposes an integrated assessment framework that introduces detailed elements and evaluation methods. An empirical assessment of carbon storage index in two Korean gardens, Semiwon and Juknokwon, reveals Semiwon's higher carbon storage per unit area. The proposed framework, emphasizing a quantitative approach, enables cross-national and regional comparisons, contributing to a broader understanding and evaluation of garden values beyond specific facilities.

Climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions has become a climate crisis that actually threatens us and is making global efforts to solve it. In response, Korea is carrying out a "Green remodeling" project to reduce carbon emissions generated in the building maintenance stage, which has the highest percentage of all carbon emissions. However, Green remodeling is carried out under emergency supervision at the construction stage, but construction supervisors are often non-professionals, and even experienced site directors have difficulty in implementing actual designs if they do not have experience in Green remodeling construction. Therefore, this study aims to derive priorities between construction and construction focus points for each construction in order to standardize the construction of Green remodeling construction works and derive objective guidelines.
