  • The current study tests the effect of fashion product knowledge and confidence in fashion coordination on innovative fashion product acceptance, mediated by creative fashion consumer efficacy. Creative fashion consumer efficacy refers to a consumers' belief in the ability to consume fashion products in a creative way. The survey was conducted on 474 people between 20 and 40 years of age in a panel of online survey firms. Data was analyzed using reliability analysis and frequency analysis by SPSS 20.0 along with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling done by AMOS 20.0. The results reveal that creative fashion consumer efficacy consists of original thinking efficacy, usage expansion efficacy, problem solving efficacy, and method variation efficacy that is consistent with the original structure of creative consumption efficacy. In addition, fashion product knowledge and confidence in fashion coordination do not affect innovative fashion product acceptance. The effects of fashion product knowledge and confidence in fashion coordination on innovative fashion product acceptance are fully mediated through creative fashion consumer efficacy. The results of this study demonstrate that people who are knowledgeable, confident and associated with fashion product consumption can have a high level of creative fashion consumer efficacy that increases innovative fashion product acceptance.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a writing program and the type of picture book used on the early stages of writing and creative writing in young children. The different stages of writing amongst young children was divided into an early stage of writing for pre-schoolers and creative writing for spontaneous expression and problem solving. The subjects comprised 36 children aged 5 from a child daycare center in Seoul. Among the KISE-BAAT and Creative tests, the writing test and creative writing test were used. The early stage of writing and creative writing were both analyzed by means of both ANCOVA and T-test. Firstly, in the subscale of the early stage of writing(ability to mark, use vocabulary, create sentences and text construction), the early stage writing of the experiment group scored higher than that of the comparison group. Secondly, in terms of the type of picture books, the group using informational picture books had greater effects on the early stage of writing than the group using narrative picture books. Thirdly, the writing program itself had a positive effect on creative writing. In the subscale of creative writing (fluency, flexibility, novelty), the group using informational picture books made greater progress in fluency and novelty than the group using narrative picture books.

  • This research is a case study of the changes of students's problem solving ability and affective characteristics when we apply to general students MG-CPS model which is creative problem solving model for gifted students. MG-CPS model which was developed by Kim and Lee(2008) is a problem solving model with 7-steps. For this study, we selected 7 first grade students from girl's high school in Seoul. They consisted of three high level students, two middle level students, and two low level students and then we applied MG-CPS model to these 7 students for 5 weeks. From the study results, we found that most students's describing ability in problem understanding and problem solving process were improved. Also we observed that high level students had improvements in overall problem solving ability, middle level students in problem understanding ability and guideline planning ability, and that low level students had improvements in the problem understanding ability. In affective characteristics, there were no significant changes in high and middle level classes but in low level class students showed some progress in all 6 factors of affective characteristics. In particular, we knew that the cause of such positive changes comes from the effects of information collection step and presenting step of MG-CPS model.

  • The objective of this study is to find a educational method that is able to increase creativity using both left and right directed thinking with complementary cooperation. The premise of experimental study is that analogical inference is a great help to make a creative design, and design tasks of commercial space, fashion shop and herb cafe are given to 25 students, voluntary participants in experimental tests. Tests make a clear distinction between a case using verbal analogy from many keywords and another case using verbal visual analogy from keywords and visual images. Consequently, when students use both verbal and visual analogy in solving design tasks their creative ability qualitatively as well as quantitatively is higher than in using verbal analogy. However, when students are classified with high and low sketching group verbal visual analogy is effective for students with high sketching ability to enhance both practicality and originality. Even students with low sketching ability can improve originality remarkably by using verbal visual analogy. In experiment there is time limit, a hour, but in actual studio class it is desirable that an educator guides the latter to make up for the weak points in practicality of their design taking time. Further study will be progressed with the design tasks of residential space to compare with the findings of this study.
