  • This paper aims to develop a system for converting web contents to mobile contents that can be used on mobile devices. Since web contents generally consist of pop-up ad windows, a bunch of unnecessary images and useless links, it is difficult to efficiently display them on common mobile devices that have lower bandwidth and memory, as well as much smaller screen, than the online environment. It is also troublesome for mobile device users to directly access contents. Thus, there has been a great demand for a new method for extracting useful and adequate contents from web documents, and optimizing them for use on mobile phones, In the paper, a system based on WAP 2,0 and XHTML Basic, which is a content creation language adopted for WAP 2,0, has been suggested. The system is designed to convert web contents by using the conversion rules of the existing filtering method after making the size of web documents smaller. The adopted conversion rules use the XHTML Basic's module units so that modification and deletion can be carried out with ease. In addition, it has been defined in a XSL document written in XSLT to maintain the extensibility of conversion and the validity of documents, In order to allow it to efficiently work together with WAP l.X's legacy services, the system has been built in a way that can have modules, which analyze information about CC/PP profiles and mobile device headers.

  • More than a few existing studies on popular narratives that pay attention to 'place' tend to adopt as their theoretical framework the celebrated distinction between space and place. According to this distinction, to put it simply, space is allegedly mobile, whereas place is static. Given this distinction, and in this age of high-mobility, where the spaces of mobilities seem to rapidly and extensively undermine the places of immobilities, would studies on popular narratives focusing on 'place' still remain convincing? Referring to David Seamon's recent book Life Takes Place: Phenomenology, Lifeworlds, and Place Making, this article aims to consider the possibility of studies on popular narratives in the era of high-mobility. To explore the concept of 'place' through phenomenological methodology, Seamon's book uses a theoretical framework called the 'progressive approximation,' which is attentive to synergistic relationality. According to this approach, the place should first be put under scrutiny as a whole, i.e. as the monad of place. Phenomenological studies on the monad of place as a whole identify places as the fundamental condition for human beings. Then, in accordance with the 'progressive' order of research, places are studied as dyads, i.e. as binary oppositions. Through these analyses, movement/rest, insideness/outsideness, the ordinary/the extra-ordinary, the within/the without, homeworld/alienworld are identified as the five dyads of place. To make a detour around these binary oppositions and confrontations, however, phenomenological studies on place now advance to the higher order of six place triads including place interaction, place identity, place release, place realization, place intensification, and place creation, whereby the study of place progressively approaches the 'approximate' essence of place. Reflectively asking himself about the idea of 'place' in the high-mobility era, the author of this informative and insightful book submits an answer that place is still the fundamental sine qua non of human beings. However, this answer is more likely to be bounded by the binary opposition of space/place, and movement/rest accordingly. In this article, I suggest as an alternative and hopefully more promising answer a perspective of transcending this kind of a dead-end dichotomy and of performing 'place-making' through the mobilities themselves, while presenting a noticeable example of the manner in which research on popular narratives could begin from this perspective.

  • Records may furnish proof of a particular action, contain information that protects the rights of individuals or government, and document decisions made during the course of government business. As business in and between government agencies will increasingly be conducted through electronic messaging service, the need to manage e-mail messages and systems is the same as for other record management systems concerning the creation of, retention of, and access to public records. Therefore government agencies that use electronic mail(e-mail) have an obligation to make employee aware that e-mail messages, like paper records, must be managed according to established record management procedures. The purpose of this paper is to suggest guidelines and/or strategies on managing e-mail messages as records for agencies which must take steps in order to make, capture, maintain, dispose, store, protect, and provide access to e-mail messages. This paper discusses on the definition of e-mail messages, principles on managing e-mail message, and how to manage e-mail messages as records.

  • It is widely known that knowledge management plays a facilitating role that contributes to upgrading organizational performance. Knowledge management systems (KMS), especially, support the knowledge management process including the sharing, creating, and using of knowledge within a company, and maximize the value of knowledge resources within an organization. Despite this widely held belief, there are few studies that describe how companies actually develop, share, and practice their knowledge. Companies in the domestic small franchise sector, which are in the early stages in terms of knowledge management, need to improve their KMS to manage their franchisees effectively. From this perspective, this study uses a qualitative approach to explore the actual process of knowledge management implementation. This article presents a case study of PB (Paris Baguette) company, which is the first to build a KMS in the franchise industry. The study was able to confirm the following facts through the analysis of target companies. First, the chief executive's support is a critical success factor and this support can increase the participation of organization members. Second, it is important to build a process and culture that actively creates and leverages information in knowledge management activities. The organizational learning culture should be one where the creation, learning, and sharing of new knowledge is developed continuously. Third, a horizontal network organization is needed in order to make relationships within the organization more close-knit. Fourth, in order to connect the diverse processes such as knowledge acquisition, storage, and utilization of knowledge management activities, information technology (IT) capabilities are essential. Indeed, IT can be a powerful tool for improving the quality of work and maximizing the spread and use of knowledge. However, during the construction of an intranet based KMS, research is required to ensure that the most efficient system is implemented. Finally, proper evaluation and compensation are important success factors. In order to develop knowledge workers, an appropriate program of promotion and compensation should be established. Also, building members' confidence in the benefits of knowledge management should be an ongoing activity. The company developed its original KMS to achieve a flexible and proactive organization, and a new KMS to improve organizational and personal capabilities. The PB case shows that there are differences between participants perceptions and actual performance in managing knowledge; that knowledge management is not a matter of formality but a paradigm that assures the sharing of knowledge; and that IT boosts communication skills, thus creating a mutual relationship to enhance the flow of knowledge and information between people. Knowledge management for building organizational capabilities can be successful when considering its focus and ways to increase its acceptance. This study suggests guidelines for major factors that corporate executives of domestic franchises should consider to improve knowledge management and the higher operating activities that can be used.

  • With development of mobile communications terminal and expansion of mobile Internet, a large number of users can use mobile web contents at anytime and anywhere and will demand service of greater contents. Due to such demand, many studies are being carried out on transcoding contents so that wired web contents can be used in mobile web. However, transcoding and creation of mobile web contents involve difficulties because specifications available from telecommunications companies and mobile terminals have not been standardized. Especially, in order for serving dynamic object of wired web page contents to dynamically change according to time or user, it is required not only to program scripts to suit each terminal, but also to transcode the resources used in advance. For solution to this problem, this study uses the hierarchy structure of DOM (document object model) to display structural characteristics of wired web page. In other words, this study proposes the following technique Wired web pages are analyzed and the results are established as data structure. Then, dynamic object is extracted and the domain is indexed so that, when serving mobile web page, information can be extracted at the indexed position to create mobile web contents for service on real-time basis.

  • A relative important analysis was conducted to determine what factors are required for port selection in Mokpo New Port and what needs to be addressed first in order to expand automobile and steel cargo handling. The port selection factors of Mokpo New Port were classified into 4 major and 13 intermediate categories, and AHP analysis was used. As a result, items such as 'port facilities', 'accessibility to international ports', 'port facility usage fees', and 'connectivity with neighboring cities/ports' were evaluated as important. The respondent groups were divided into shipowner and shipper, port operator and stevedore, and public official, and an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was conducted to verify if there was a difference in perception between the groups. As a result, shipowner and shipper, port operator and stevedore were similar, but there was a difference from public official group. Shipowner and shipper, port operator and stevedore with similar response characteristics were classified into the 'port practitioner' group, and public official were classified into the 'port policy maker' group, and the difference in perception between the group was tested. Therefore, there were differences in some major category items, and even in the intermediate category items such as 'possession of adjacent hinterland industrial complex', 'cargo equipment', '24-hour port operation', 'inland transportation cost', 'accessibility to international ports', 'marketing and incentives' with statistical. In other words, the 'port practitioner' group evaluated items that can increase cargo creation and handling productivity as important whereas the 'port policy maker' group considers port development and policies such as port infrastructure, connectivity with other ports, and incentive support items are more important.

  • Xamarin is a representative cross-platform development framework that allows developers to write mobile apps in C# for multiple mobile platforms, such as Android, iOS, or Windows Phone. Using Xamarin, mobile app developers can reuse existing C# code and share significant code across multiple platforms, reducing development time and maintenance costs. Meanwhile, malware authors can also use Xamarin to spread malicious apps on more platforms, minimizing the time and cost of malicious app creation. In order to cope with this problem, it is necessary to analyze and detect malware written with Xamarin. However, little studies have been conducted on static analysis methods of the apps written in Xamarin. In this paper, we examine the structure of Android apps written with Xamarin and propose a static analysis technique for the apps. We also demonstrate how to statically reverse-engineer apps that have been transformed using code obfuscation. Because the Android apps written with Xamarin consists of Java bytecode, C# based DLL libraries, and C/C++ based native libraries, we have studied static reverse engineering techniques for these different types of code.

  • Texture imaging, which means texture image creation by co-occurrence relation, has been known as one of the useful image analysis methodologies. For this purpose, most commercial remote sensing software provides texture analysis function named GLCM (Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix). In this study, texture-imaging program based on GLCM algorithm is newly implemented. As well, texture imaging modules for GLDV (Grey Level Difference Vector) are contained in this program. As for GLCM/GLDV Texture imaging parameters, it composed of six types of second order texture functions such as Homogeneity, Dissimilarity, Energy, Entropy, Angular Second Moment, and Contrast. As for co-occurrence directionality in GLCM/GLDV, two direction modes such as Omni-mode and Circular mode newly implemented in this program are provided with basic eight-direction mode. Omni-mode is to compute all direction to avoid directionality complexity in the practical level, and circular direction is to compute texture parameters by circular direction surrounding a target pixel in a kernel. At the second phase of this study, some case studies with artificial image and actual satellite imagery are carried out to analyze texture images in different parameters and modes by correlation matrix analysis. It is concluded that selection of texture parameters and modes is the critical issues in an application based on texture image fusion.

  • Immersive content overcomes spatial limitations through convergence with extended reality, artificial intelligence, and photogrammetry technology along with interest due to the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting a new paradigm in the content market such as entertainment, media, performances, and exhibitions. However, it can be seen that in order for realistic content to have sustained public interest, it is necessary to study storytelling method that can increase immersion in content rather than technological freshness. Therefore, in this study, we propose a immersive content storytelling method using artificial intelligence and photogrammetry technology. The proposed storytelling method is to create a content story through interaction between interactive virtual beings and participants. In this way, participation can increase content immersion. This study is expected to help content creators in the accelerating immersive content market with a storytelling methodology through virtual existence that utilizes artificial intelligence technology proposed to content creators to help in efficient content creation. In addition, I think that it will contribute to the establishment of a immersive content production pipeline using artificial intelligence and photogrammetry technology in content production.
