공정 개선에 따른 사고저항성 CrAl 코팅 피복관의 내마모성 향상 (Improved Coating Process for Enhanced Wear Resistance of CrAl Coated Claddings for Accident Tolerant Fuel)

  • This paper investigates the enhanced wear performance of a CrAl coated accident tolerant fuel (ATF) cladding. In the wake of the Fukushima accident, extensive research on ATF with respect to improving the oxidation resistance of cladding materials is ongoing. Since coated Zr claddings can be applied without major changes to the criteria for reactor core design, many researchers are studying coatings for claddings. To improve the quality of the CrAl coating layer, optimization of the manufacturing process is imperative. This study employs arc ion plating to obtain improved CrAl coated claddings using CrAl binary alloy targets through an improved coating method. Surface roughness and adhesion are improved, and droplets are reduced. Furthermore, the coated layer has a dense and fine microstructure. In scratch tests, all the tested CrAl coated claddings exhibit a superior resistance compared to the Zr cladding. In a fretting wear test, the wear volume of the CrAl coated claddings is smaller compared to the Zr cladding. Furthermore, the coated cladding manufactured through the improved process exhibits better wear resistance than other CrAl coated claddings. Based on these results, we suggest that fine microstructure is attributed to a mechanically and microstructurally robust CrAl coating layer, which enhances wear resistance.

  • CoCrTa/Cr 자성박막의 Cr 하지층에 Mo와 Si을 첨가하여 제조한 박막의 자기적 성질에 미치는 Mo와 Si의 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 증착시 사용된 장비는 DC magnetron sputtering system이었고, CoCrTa 자성층의 두께는 30.0$\AA$으로 Cr 하지층의 두께는 700$\AA$으로 고정하였으며 기판의 가열온도는 26$0^{\circ}C$이었다. CrMo 하지층의 박막이 순수한 Cr 하지층에 비하여 약 200 Oe의 보자력 증가를 나타내었다. 하지만 Si을 첨가하였을 경우엔 첨가량의 증가에 따라 보자력이 점차 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. CrMo 하지층에서는Mo를 첨가함에 따라 Cr 하지츠의 (200)면의 결정배향성이 증가하였고, Mo를 첨가한 Cr(200)과 CoCrTa(110)의lattice misfit가 Si을 첨가한 경우보다 작았고, 이것이 보자력 증가의 원인이었다.

$Cr_2O_3$ 플라스마 용사 코팅된 유리의 입자충격에 의한 손상기구 (Damage Mechanism of Particle Impact in a $Cr_2O_3$ Plasma Coated Soda-lime Glass)

  • The damage mechanism of $Cr_2O_3$ plasma coated soda-lime glass and uncoated glass by steel ball particle impact was analyzed in this study. And the shape variation of the cracks was investigated by stereo-microscope according to the impact velocity and steel ball diameter. In order to improve the damage reduction effect by $Cr_2O_3$ coating layer, crack size was measured and surface erosion state was observed for both of two kinds of specimen after impact experiment. And the results were compared with each other. The 4-point bending test was performed according to ASTM D790 testing method to evaluate the effect of coating layer for bending strength variation. As a result, it was found that the crack size of $Cr_2O_3$ coated specimen was smaller than that of uncoated one, because of the impact absorption by interior pores in the coating layer and the load dispersion by the structural characteristic of the coating layer. For the specimens subjected to the steel ball impact, the bending strength of coated specimen was higher than that of uncoated specimen.

Corrosion of Fe-9%Cr-1%Mo Steel at 600 and 700℃ in N2/(0.5, 2.5)%H2S-mixed Gas

  • The T91 steel (Fe-9%Cr-1%Mo) was corroded at 600 and $700^{\circ}C$ for 5 - 70 h in the $N_2$/(0.5, 2.5)%$H_2$Smixed gas at one atm. It was corroded fast, forming the outer FeS layer and the inner (FeS, $FeCr_2O_4$)-mixed layer. The formation of the outer FeS layer facilitated the oxidation of Cr to $FeCr_2O_4$ in the inner layer. Since the nonprotective FeS scale was present over the whole scale, T91 steel displayed poor corrosion resistance.

액체 로켄 엔진 연소기 내벽 코팅용 무전해 Ni-P/전해 Cr 도금층의 밀착력 향상을 위한 산세 및 열처리 효과에 관한 연구 (Study on the effect of acid dipping and heat treatment on the adhesion of electroless Ni-P/electrolitic Cr deposition for liquid-fuel rocket combustor)

  • 현재 액체로켓 엔진 연소기 내벽은 bonding layer NiCrAlY과 Top layer $ZrO_2$가 플라즈마 용사 방식으로 형성 된다. 이는 뛰어난 열 차폐 특성과 작업시간이 짧은 장점이 있지만, bonding layer와 Top layer 사이의 열팽창 계수 차이로 인한 균열 발생 가능성이 내재 되어 있고, 연소실 내벽에 균일한 두께의 코팅층을 형성하기 어렵고 설비가 비싸다는 단점으로 인하여 세라믹 코팅 층을 금속 코팅 층으로 대체 하고자 한다. 금속 코팅층은 모재와의 밀착성이 높고, 우수한 산화 및 부식방지 기능을 가지며 저렴하다는 장점이 있다. 또한 코팅 후 연마 작업이 가능해 연소실 내부형상을 설계조건 대로 유지 할 수 있는 특징이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 연소실 내벽에 적용할 모재, 무전해 Ni-P 도금과 전해 Cr 도금층 사이의 밀착력 향상을 위한 방법에 대한 연구를 하였다. 밀착력 향상을 위한 요소로 전처리 용액과 열처리 시간에 따른 영향을 알아보고자 하였으며, 이를 위해서 5가지의 산세 용액으로 각 시편을 산세 한 후, 6시간, 12시간, 18시간 열처리 하여 단면을 비교하여 열처리에 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 결과 산세 용액의 영향은 크게 나타나지 않았으며, 열처리 시간이 길수록 Ni-P/Cr의 확산이 더 잘 일어나 확산층이 더 넓어지면서 밀착력이 더 좋아 진 것으로 판단되어 진다.

LiCl-Li2O 용융염에서 Inconel 합금 및 Incoloy 800H의 고온 부식거동 (Hot Corrosion Behavior of Inconel Alloys and Incoloy 800H in Molten LiCl-Li2O Salt)

  • A study on the corrosion behavior of Inconel alloys and Incoloy 800H in molten salt of LiCl-$Li_2O$ was investigated at $650^{\circ}C$ for 24-312 hours in an oxidation atmosphere. The order of the corrosion rate was Inconel 600 < Inconel 601 < Incoloy 800H < Inconel 690. Inconel 600 showed the best performance suggesting that the content of Fe, Cr and Ni are the important factor for corrosion resistance in hot molten salt oxidation conditions. The corrosion products of Inconel 600 and Inconel 601 were $Cr_2O_3$ and $NiFe_2O_4$, In case of Inconel 690, a single layer of $Cr_2O_3$ was formed in the early stage of corrosion and an outer layer of $NiFe_2O_4$ and inner layer of $Cr_2O_3$ were formed with an increase of corrosion time. In the case of Incoloy 800H, $Cr_2O_3$ and $FeCr_2O_4$ were observed. Most of the outer scale of the alloys was observed to be spalled from the results of the SEM analysis and the unspalled scale which adhered to the substrate was composed of three layers. The outer layer, the middle one, and the inner one were Fe, Cr, and Ni-rich, respectively. Inconel 600 showed localized corrosion behavior and Inconel 601, 690 and Incoloy 800H showed uniform corrosion behavior. Ni improves the corrosion resistance and too much Cr and/or Fe content deteriorates the corrosion resistance.

Laser Surface Cladding 고탄소 9CrSi 합금강의 마모 특성 (Wear characteristics of High Carbon 9CrSi Alloy Steel of Laser Surface Cladding)

  • The microstructure and the distribution of hardness of Co and A1 alloy powder cladding layer in high carbon 9CrSi alloy steel for roll materials cladded by laser surface cladding were investigated. And, for the evaluation of soundness as the roll materials, we examined the wear resistance of the cladding materials with the wear appratus of pin on disc type. The experimental results showed that the microstructure of laser cladding layer was constituted with the clad surface layer, the alloy layer, the heat treatment layer with base metal. The wear resistance of Ni alloy Powder cladding material was superior to that of Co alloy powder cladding material both at the low speed (0.46m/s) and the high speed(0.92m/s). It seemed that the behavior of wear showed the abrasive wear at the early stage and the adhesive wear at the late stage.

가스용사에 의한 Ni-Cr 기 자용성합금 용사 의 특성에 미치는 용사조건의 영향 (Effect of Spraying Conditions in Flame Spraying of Ni-Cr Base Self Fluxing Alloy on Mild Steel)

  • It has between investigated that the optimum spaying conditions, such as, spraying distance, fusing temperature and fusing time, ect, in a Ni-cr base self fluxing alloy sprayed on the mild steel substrate by oxygen-acetylenc flame spraying. Sprayed specimens on various conditions were fuused in a vacuum furnace and the results were as follows. The optimum spraying condition for excellent coating layer are obtained under spraying distances, fusing temperature and fusing and time ; 180~240mm,1050~110$0^{\circ}C$and 15~30min, respectively. The adhesive strength and surface hurface hardness of the as sprayed specimens were very low by mechanical bonding becaus of the diffusion layer during process. The carbides and borides and formed in the sprayed coating layer and densification of the layer was resulted from the elimination of pores and oxides. The hardness of sprayed coating layer, particularly in the high temperature, was superior to ordinary tool steels.

  • Composites layer of Al-Cr-Ni-O system was prepared on a steel plate by hydro-thermal process at $700^{\circ}C$ for 12 hours, which phase identification and thermal conductivity were determined. The composites layer consisted of aluminum nitride, alumina, chromium carbide and aluminium, which density was $3.7kg/m^3$. The thermal conductivity of the coating layer determined by thermal data acquisition system was about 98.0 W/m/ which depended on the AlN content. Numerical modelling of the heat transfer behavior of the coating layer was well agreement with the empirical data.
