대향류와 평행류형 판형 증발기에서 운전방식에 따른 성능특성 분석 (Analysis of Performance Characteristics in the Counter and Parallel Type Plate Evaporator with Operating Methods)

  • The analysis of performance characteristics was carried out in the plate type evaporator with counter and parallel flow. To investigate performance of evaporator with water inlet temperature and refrigerant mass flow rate were changed. As a result, when the inlet temperature of water is $8^{\circ}C$, capacity of parallel flow evaporator higher than counter flow is 0.35%. But as the inlet temperature of water rises from $8^{\circ}C$ to $16^{\circ}C$, capacity of counter flow type evaporator higher than parallel flow type is 0.12%, 0.27%, 1.1%, 1.6%, respectively. The findings showed that counter flow type evaporator has a larger capacity than those that were parallel flow type evaporator. As the refrigerant mass flow rate rises, capacity and pressure drop increases in the counter and parallel flow type evaporator.

  • An experimental study on the Hybrid Cooling Tower has been done having a rated capacity of 3RT. Counter flow type fill, cross flow type fill and hybrid-type fill which is combined with two type fills as previously stated having a height of 0.3m have been used in the 0.8m${\times}$0.4m${\times}$1.9m dimensional tower respectively. The heat exchanger is consisting of 2 or 3 rows. The relevant temperatures and the velocities were selected based on the typical Korean weather for the year round operation of the tower. The cooling capacity of the tower is explained with respect to varying air inlet velocities, wet-bulb temperatures, and air to cooling water volume flow rate ratio (L/G ratio). The capacity of the hybrid-type fill was much superior to other fills, but hybrid-type fill shows higher pressure drop.

U형 직교 대향류 플라스틱/종이 재질 간접증발소자 (U-type Cross-Counter Indirect Evaporative Cooler made of Plastic/Paper)

  • 여름철이 무더운 대한민국에서는 냉방에 많은 전력을 소비한다. 이 경우 간접증발냉각을 동시에 적용하면 전기 사용을 줄일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 플라스틱/종이 재질의 U형 직교대향류 간접증발소자를 개발하고 그 성능을 기존의 직교류소자와 비교하였다. 시료의 크기는 $500mm{\times}500mm{\times}1000mm$이었다. 직교대향류 소자의 간접증발효율은 직교류 소자의 간접증발효율보다 6~21% 크고 그 차이는 전방 풍속이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 이는 직교대향류 소자의 크기가 크고 (대향류의 2배) 직교 대향류의 유용도가 직교류의 유용도보다 크기 때문이다. 직교대향류 소자의 압력손실은 직교류 소자의 압력손실보다 2배 가량 컸다. 습채널의 압력손실도 건채널보다 51~66% 컸다. ${\epsilon}$-NTU 방식의 해석 모델은 실험 데이터를 ${\pm}10%$ 이내에서 예측하였다. 직교대향류 소자를 사용하였을 때 절약되는 전기에너지는 직교류 소자의 값보다 크고 그 차이는 풍속이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 하지만 직교대향류 소자의 크기가 직교류 소자에 비하여 2배 크므로 원가의 상승과 분무수 사용량의 증가가 예상된다.

충진재(Filler)가 대향류형(Counter Flow Type) 냉각탑 유동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (Effect of Filler on the Flow of Counter Flow Type Cooling Tower)

  • The white plume from the cooling tower can be generated by mixing between discharging hot and humid air and cold air outside. This causes various problems such as icing, traffic disturbances, and fire factors in the vicinity, moreover it can also damage the image of a company. Various methods can be used to prevent white plume, one of them is to install a heat exchanger at the outlet of the cooling tower so that the heat exchanger transfers as much heat as possible to lower the temperature. Therefore the air flow path in the cooling tower should be optimized. Installation of the filler can be used to make the air flow better, thus we investigate the effect of filler on the air flow using CFD method. The pressure and velocity profile in the cooling tower could be acquired by the calculations. The filler made the velocity of the air entering the heat exchanger uniform this was because high flow resistance of the filler suppresses the generation of eddy in the cooling tower. But the total air pressure drop increased about 2 times with filler because the pressure drop by the filler accounted for about 60% of the total pressure drop.

  • 축류식 인라인 덕트팬의 개밥을 위해 엇회전식 측류팬의 공력 특성에 관한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 기존의 동익과 정익으로 구성된 축류팬의 설계기법을 확장하여, 서로 반대방향으로 회전하는 전단 동익과 후단 동익의 블레이드 형상을 설계하였다. 그리고, 압축기나 터빈 등의 터보기계 관통 유동 해석 기법인 행렬법을 엇회전식 축류팬에 적용하였고, 주파수영역 패널법을 확장하여 엇회전식 축류팬의 공력 해석 및 성능 예측을 수행하였다. 엇회전식 축 류팬의 관통 유동 해석 결과, 전단 동익과 후단 동익의 허브 부분에서 많은 유통 손실이 발생했다. 그리고, 주파수 영역 패널법을 이용한 공력 해석을 통해 블레이드의 유동손실이 주로 블레이드 전연에서 나타남을 알 수 있었고 성능 특성이 약간 과도하게 예측되었다.

  • Plate-fin type recuperators for the gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system were designed using commercial design software, MUSE. Heat transfer efficiency and total pressure drop in the recuperator were calculated to confirm required recuperator performance. Both counter flow and cross flow type plate-fin recuperators were designed. Results show that the counter flow type has higher efficiency and short core length, but the cross flow type is simpler to construct because the cross flow type does not need additional distributors. Two or three headers for the each recuperator core will be designed and tested to evaluate best header design. The designed recuperators and headers which will be designed later will be constructed, tested, and used in gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system.

강제통풍식 냉각탑 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Forced Draft Cooling Tower)

  • This paper presents design conditions due to the NTU of counter and cross flow type cooling tower. In the calculation of optimum design conditions for above two types which are widely used in our country, standard water-air ratio, ambient wet bulb temperature and bulk water temperature were adopted by domestic wheather conditions. The important result of this study is obtained as follows : Under the constant value of Ka and L, the number of transfer unit of cross flow type cooling tower Is about 1.1 times as large as that of counter, so the volume of cross flow type is about $10\%$ greater than that of counter.

Counter Flow 방식의 랙 다이를 이용한 고정 밀도 Worm 전조기술 개발 (Development of Form Rolling Technology for High Precision Worm Using the Rack Dies of Counter Flow Type)

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the form rolling technology to produce high precision worm on the base of three dimensional finite element simulation and experiment. It is important to determine the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of tooth profile. The calculation method of the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by finite element simulation. The form rolling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using both the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated with the same numerical model as actual process by the commercial finite element code, BEFORM-3D. Deformation modes of workpiece between the form rolling by the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are investigated from the result of simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm are measured precisely using the worm shafts obtained from experiment. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the form rolling process of worn shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using roll dies from the aspect of the precision of worm such as the surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the form rolling technology to produce high precision worm. Rack dies and roll dies are usually used to roll parts with worm teeth. The form roiling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated by the commercial finite element code, DEFORM-3D. It is also important to determine the initial blank diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of thread. The calculation method of the initial blank diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by FE-simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the from rolling process of worm shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using rolling dies from the aspect of the surface roughness and the profile of worm.

  • A numerical model which simulates the heat and mass transfer processes within a counter-current plate type generator for ammonia/water absorption refrigerators was developed. Ammonia/water solution flows downward under gravity and ammonia/water vapor generated by flow boiling flows upward. The flow pattern within the generator was assumed to be a bubbly flow, and the liquid and vapor phase were assumed to be saturated. It was shown that the boiling of ammonia occurred mainly in the upper part of the generator. The effects of the generator length, the wall temperature and the mass flow rate of ammonia/water solution into the generator on the generation of ammonia/water vapor were investigated.
