A Study on the Decomposition of Amygdalin Using an In Vitro Assay (Amygdalin의 in Vitro 분해에 관한 연구)

  • Amygdalin is a cyanogenic glycoside which is commonly found in almonds, bamboo shoots, and apri-cot kernels, and peach kernels. Amygdalin was first hydrolysed into prunasin, then degraded into cyanohydrin by sequential two-stage mechanism. The objective of this study was to examine the amygdalin decomposition and cyanide formation at various in vitro conditions, including acid, enzyme and anaerobic microbes (AM) in human feces (HF). In acid hydrolysis mimicking gastric environment, amygdalin was degraded to cyanide up to 0.2% in specific pH. In contrast, enzyme assay showed higher cyanide generation either by ${\beta}$-glucosidase, or by incubation with microbe. In conclusion, we are convinced of cyanide generation are occurred mainly by microbiological activities of the gut flora up to 41.53%. After ingestion with some staff, the degree and site of degradation in an organism is a key parst of regulatory decision making of that staff.

A clinical study on the changes of serum enzymes after open heart operation under the cardiopulmonary bypases (개심술후 혈청효소 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The changes of serum creatine phosphokinase [CPK], serum lactic dehydrogenase [LDH], serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase [GOT] and serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase [GPT] were studied in a total of 82 cases who underwent open heart operation under the cardiopulmonary bypass at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Chungnam National University Hospital. The results were as follows 1. The average values of CPK and COT after the operation were reached to the maximal values on the first postoperative day, which were returned to the normal range until the fifth postoperative day. The average values of LDH and CPT after the operation were reached to the maximal values on the first and second postoperative day respectively, which were significantly increased until the seventh postoperative day. 2. In the relationship of the serum enzymes and duration of the extracorporeal circulation, the values on the group over 90 minute of the extracorporeal circulation were more increased than on the group below 90 minute of the extracorporeal circulation. 3. In the relationship of the changes of the serum enzymes and congenital heart diseases and acquired heart diseases, there were no significantly differences in the values between the two groups.

  • The fouling around the surface of hull and propeller caused by marine organism and sea water occur in the vessel which is taken up mooring in a quay for a quite long time. Moreover, those are able to give rise to the loss of speed performance. The purpose of underwater cleaning is to improve the performance of vessel and customer satisfaction through management for fouling condition of propeller and hull. Therefore, systematic approach in connection with underwater cleaning is required so as to obtain the stable speed performance. As a result, we evaluate the effect of propeller polishing to speed performance from the case of 115K COT and 4,250 TEU Container Ship. In addition, we issue the importance of underwater cleaning through comparison of speed results depending on conditions of hull surface painted by silicon.

  • 컴포넌트 기반 개발 방법은 조립 가능한 컴포넌트들을 이용하여 소프트웨어를 구현하는 기술로써, 소프트웨어의 생산성 및 품질을 높이는 효과적인 방법으로 알려져 있다. 향후 성장이 예상되는 컴포넌트 시장에서는 여러 컴포넌트 공급자들에 의해 COTS나 Web Services의 형태로 동일 내지는 유사 기능을 수행하는 대체 가능한 컴포넌트들이 나타나게 될 것이다. 개발되는 컴포넌트 기반 소프트웨어의 품질을 위해서는 여러 경쟁 컴포넌트들 중에서 우수한 성능을 가진 컴포넌트를 선택하는 기술이 중요한 요소의 하나라고 할 수 있다. 일반적으로 컴포넌트는 컴포넌트 모델에 종속적이기 때문에 컴포넌트의 성능 측정기도 측정 대상 컴포넌트뿐만 아니라 컴포넌트 모델에 종속적으로 구현된다. 본 논문은 컴포넌트 모델과 미들웨어 프레임워크에 중립적인 분산 컴포넌트의 성능 측정 모델에 대하여 설명한다. 이 모델을 이용하여 컴포넌트 모델에 중립 적인 성능측정기를 개발할 수 있으며 컴포넌트의 비교와 검증에 필요한 객관적인 성능 측정 결과를 얻을 수 있다.

  • Radiative transfer modeling of ice clouds is developed. Ice clouds located near tropopause reflect most of sunlight, thus atmospheric and surface effects can be minimized. Cloud properties such as cloud optical thickness (COT) and effective radius are important parameters to determine the magnitude of reflectance, while atmospheric and surface parameters rarely affect reflectance value. For selected homogeneous cloud pixels of MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) observation, reflectances are calculated using MODIS cloud products as inputs of radiative transfer model (RTM). For three types of phase function (Henyey-Greenstein, Garcia-Siewert, Baum) calculated reflectances are compared with observations for validation. All cases show linear relationship between simulated values and measured values, however each represent different bias and slope. The result shows that phase function determine angular distribution of reflectance.

  • The vulnerability of privacy in the Identity Management System (IMS) is the most pressing concern of ordinary users. Uncertainty about privacy keeps many users away from utilization of IMS. Therefore, this paper proposes an access-control oriented privacy model for IMS. The proposed model protects privacy using access control techniques with privacy policies in a single circle of trust. We address characteristics of the components of for the proposed model and describe access control procedures. After that, we show the architecture of privacy enforcement and XML-based schema for privacy policies.

  • This paper describes the NC simulator system for Wire-cut electrodischarge machining. Electrodischarge Wire-cut machining is applicable to all materials including metals, alloys, and most carbides. Although CAM system generate the NC code considering electrodischarge conditions, incorrect Wire-cut tool path bring about fatal results. The simplest way of simulating a EDM process is to display the trajectory of Wire-cutter location by line segments. With this kind of simulation, the programmer can get a general idea about whether the wire is moving as planned but cannot locate gouging or excess material because only the wire location will be seen, not the changes in the workpiece as it is machined. The ideal way of simulating the EDM process is to display the solid model of the workpiece as it is machined. Therefore we propose the ideal NC simulator system for Wire-cut EDM.

  • Based on equal number of cells, supplementation of 10$^{-6}$ M cadimium highly simulated the intracellular amylase. GCT, LDH as well as the glucose and erea content of E carotovora var, carotovaro cells. This was coupled with initiation of highly active GOT, CPK as well as accumulation of cholesterol in the cells. Lanthanum was less active and unable to initiate COT or CPK. Nickel was almost without effect though reduced LDH activity without initiating either enzyme or cholesterol production. Similar stiulations and/or initiations were observed, though to variable extents, when the same concentration of the three elements were supplied to E. carotovora var, citullis or E. toxica. The highest yield of amylase, GPT, GGT or glucose was obtained when E. carotovora var. carotovora was supplemented with Cd + Ni. The highest urea level was recorded in Erwinia carotovara var, cirullis, amended with Cd + La.

  • In this paper, we propose two novel blind LMS algorithms, called exponential step sire LMS algorithms (ES-LMS), for adaptive array antennas whose convergence speed is increased, hence they are much more capable of tracking the desired signal than the conventional LMS algorithms. Both of the algorithms require neither spatial knowledge nor reference signals since they use the finite symbol property of digital signal. Computer simulations were carried cot in CDMA environment affected by multi-path Rayleigh fading to verify the performance of the two proposed algorithms.
