This study provides a systematic investigation about objective personal image consulting, tool development and image-making research by analyzing the status of the Korean image-consulting industry and education. For the research, we carried out literature surveys of books on image consulting and previous research reports. In particular, we surveyed image consulting businesses that have internet web sites, and educational institutes. The results of the survey are as follows: First, domestic image consulting businesses in Korea are investigated about 93 private companies and 4 associations. They do the image making, color consulting, and education for individuals and business. Second, professional image consulting education is carried out not only in the 93 private companies, but also in the continuing and professional studies for adults of 10 universities. Furthermore, more then 90 universities have specific academic programs related to the image consulting such as facial management, beauty coordination, cosmetology, stylists, fashion events, broadcasting stylists, and so on. Third, a typical image consulting job is the personal shoppers who assists VIP customers in department stores. Professionals and politicians have personal fashion stylists for their image making. Today, the job has expanded to public fashion therapist. Fourth, the contents of an image consulting education have appeared in similar industries and educations. These contents include fashion styles, personal color analysis, make-up, facial expressions, gestures, perfumes, accessories, etc. This study is based on research on the current Korean image-consulting industry, and will enable follow-up details to be implemented. using the basis of this study for a strategic self-image formation system.

Objectives: This study aimed to survey and report on the international programs for Chinese Medicine in China. Methods: Online research was conducted based on a survey of official websites of 25 universities of Chinese medicine. In certain situations, we used e-mail or phone calls to get more detailed information. Results: Among 25 universities of Chinese medicine, 22 operate international programs for Chinese medicine. The main contents of the programs are acupuncture, moxibustion, tuina, Chinese materia medica, cosmetology or qigong, and an average 400 foreign students finish each program yearly. China has maintained the lead in international education of traditional Oriental medicine, and has already established a systematic and remarkable infrastructure for globalization of Chinese medicine. Conclusions: This study can inform the development of strategy in the process of raising the competitiveness of Korean medicine in the world market.

Activity guided phytochemical examination of the rhizome of Phragmites communis has led to the isolation of two phenolic acids and two lignans. Structures of these compounds were elucidated as methyl gallate (1), ${\rho}$ -hydroxy cinnamic acid (2), (+) -lyoniresinol (3), (+)-lyoniresinol-9'-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (4) by comparisons with previously reported spectral data. To investigate the melanogenesis inhibitory effects of these compounds, the melanin level and tyrosinase activity were examined in B16F10 melanoma cell. Each compound inhibited both tyrosinase activity and melanin synthesis compared with positive control, kojic acid and arbutin. These results suggest that the phenolic compounds from Phragmites communis might be developed as a potent skin whitenting cosmeceuticals.

Diarylheptanoids, (5S)-1,7-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxyheptane-3-one-5-O-${\beta}$-D-xylopyranoside (1, Oregonin), 1,7-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-4-heptene-3-one (2, Hirsutenone), (5S)-7-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-heptanone-5-O-${\beta}$-D-xylopyranoside (3, Alnuside A), (5S)-1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-7-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-heptanone-5-O-${\beta}$-D-xylopyranoside (4, Alnuside B), (5S)-1,7-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxyheptane-3-on-5-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (5) and 1,7-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxyheptane-3-on-5-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (6, Platyphylloside) were isolated from the bark of Alnus pendula Matsumura. The structures of these compounds were identified based on the spectral and physicochemical data.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the ethical climate affects the job satisfaction of the clinical dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 207 dental hygienists. The data were analyzed by t-test or one-way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis, and Pearson's correlation analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 program. Results: The factors affecting the job satisfaction of the general and ethical climate were the work experiences, the completion of vocational ethics education, the self interest type, the friendship type, the rule and the procedure type. When working experience and vocational ethics education are completed, self interest type and friend type have improved job satisfaction as the score increases, while job satisfaction is lowered as the rule and procedure type are increased. Conclusions: Since healthy ethical climate correlates with job satisfaction, it is necessary to establish an ethical climate in order to improve the job satisfaction of clinical dental hygienists. Efficient and stable management of ethical climate within dental clinics can be achieved when mutual interests are emphasized and respected rather than obedience is empathized to hospital regulations, procedures and policies.

본 연구에서는 삼칠화 에탄올 추출물의 항산화 및 피부 세포 독성, 항염증을 확인하고, 삼칠화 함유 화장품을 여드름 피부에 적용하여 수분, 홍반, 모공, 블랙헤드에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 삼칠화 에탄올 추출물의 DPPH radicial 소거능을 확인하였고, 높은 폴리페놀 함량과 플라보노이드 함량을 나타내었다. 삼칠화 에탄올 추출물은 RAW 264.7 세포에 대한 독성이 적었고, LPS에 의해 유도된 NO 생성을 유의하게 억제하는 것을 확인하였다. 4주간 삼칠화 에탄올 추출물이 3% 함유된 스킨 토너와 스팟 솔루션을 여드름 피부에 적용한 결과, 수분 증가와 홍반지수, 눈에 띄는 모공수, 블랙헤드 감소가 유의하게 나타났고, 사용 후 만족도 조사에서 피지량 감소, 붉음증 완화에 대한 만족도가 높은 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 삼칠화는 항산화 및 항염증 효과가 있으며, 여드름 관리용 화장품 소재로서 활용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

본 연구는 메이크업 분야별 특성을 고려한 메이크업 교육 방향성에 초점을 두었다. 우선, 메이크업 교육의 이론적 근거가 되는 메이크업의 학문적 범주와 속성을 분석하였다. 유사한 메이크업 기술이 필요한 실무 분야를 5가지로 구분하여 각 특성과 핵심자질을 분석하였고, 전문가 심층인터뷰를 통해 그 연구결과를 검증하였다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 메이크업의 학문적 범주는 예술, 기술, 디자인, 보건, 과학, 의학 인문학 등과 관련되어 있다. 5가지 분야에 대한 분석은 대개 실무와 일치함을 알 수 있었지만, 무대 공연과 패션쇼 분야의 핵심자질은 많은 차이가 있었다. 공통적으로 가장 중요한 핵심자질은 기본 뷰티 메이크업, 기본 무대 분장, 기본 영상 분장 기술이었으며 특히, 헤어스타일링 기술에 대한 요구가 높았음을 알 수 있었다.

본 연구는 전문대학이 직업교육 훈련 기관으로써 더욱 효과적으로 활성화될 수 있도록 현재 운영 과정에 대해 살펴보고 개선점을 제안하기 위하여 시도되었다. 연구 대상자는 서울과 경기 지역의 전문대에서 미용계열 직업교육 훈련과정을 수료하였거나 재학 중인 250명을 대상으로 자료 수집을 실시하여 부적절한 응답을 제외한 총 230부를 분석하였다. 자료 분석은 설문조사에서 회수된 설문지 응답 결과를 통계 패키지 프로그램인 SPSS Statistics (Ver. 24: IBM, USA)를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 자료의 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 빈도 분석을 실시하였고, 범주 형 자료 간의 연관성을 살펴보기 위하여 교차분석을 주로 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 고등학교 1학년 학기 초 일반고 전교생들에게 직업교육 훈련과정에 대한 정보를 일률적으로 제공하고, 이후 2학년 1학기부터 충분한 직업교육 훈련시간을 통해 본인의 적성에 부합한 진로를 결정할 수 있게 하는 것이다. 둘째, 미용계열 훈련과정에 네 개의 전공과목을 동시에 개설하는 것이다. 훈련생들이 네 개의 미용 과목에 따른 자격증을 훈련기관에서 훈련기간 중 취득할 수 있게 하며. 피부, 헤어, 메이크업, 네일아트의 모든 전공과목을 교육 받고 자격증을 취득하는 과정에 본인의 적성에 부합한 전공 진로를 신중히 결정할 수 있게 기회를 갖는 것이다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 전문대가 미용을 전공으로 하는 일반고 비진학 학생들에게 효율적인 직업교육 훈련기관으로 더욱 활성화될 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.

As part of an investigation to identify microorganisms that are biotechnologically interesting for industrial application, we isolated a bacterial strain from Chungkookjang that produces extracellular neutral lipase. In addition, the crude enzyme was characterized. This isolated strain, designated as JKA-3 was identified as Bacillus subtilis JKA-3 based on morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics, as well as phylogenetic analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequence. The cells were rod-shaped and $0.6-0.8{\times}2.0-2.3\;{\mu}m$ in size. Optimal growth conditions were $35-40^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0-8.0. The isolate was able to grow in up to 0-10.0% (w/v) NaCl. Optimal activity conditions of the crude lipase fraction of B. subtilis JKA-3 were pH of 7.0 at $35^{\circ}C$. This enzyme was stable in the pH ranging 6.0-8.0.

Clove extract by methanol increased expression of the tyrosinase gene on B16 mouse melanoma cells containing tyrosinase promoter. $10{\mu}g/mL$ and $100{\mu}g/mL$ of the extract showed expression rate of the tyrosinase gene about 138% and 245%, respectively, compared with control. At $500{\mu}g/mL$, expression rate of the extract was impossible to measurement by high cytotoxicity. The solvent fraction of methylene chloride also exhibited highly expression rate as methanol extract. However, the solvent fractions of butyl alcohol and water showed repressive effect on expression of tyrosinase gene at $500{\mu}g/mL$. In MTT assay, cell survival rate of the extract exhibited similar to expression rate of tyrosinase gene. That is, $10{\mu}g/mL$ and $100{\mu}g/mL$ of the extract showed the cell survival rate about 128% and 187%, respectively.
