플라스틱 판형 열교환기의 성능에 영향을 미치는 인자에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the Performance of Plastic Plate Heat Exchanger)

  • Plastic plate heat exchangers have many advantages over the conventional heat exchangers such as aluminum plate heat exchangers, rotary wheel heat exchangers and heat pipe heat exchangers which have been used for ventilation heat recovery in the air-conditioning systems. In the present study, pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics of plastic plate heat exchangers are investigated for various design parameters and operating conditions which affect the performance of the plastic plate heat exchangers. In flat plate type heat exchanger, material thickness and channel height of heat exchanger are considered, and corrugate size and heat transfer area are considered in case of corrugate type heat exchanger. Pressure drop and effectiveness of the corrugate type heat exchanger increase as the corrugate size decreases.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop high efficiency plastic plate heat exchangers which can be substituted for conventional aluminum plate heat exchangers. Four simulation models of plastic plate heat exchangers are designed and simulated: that is, flat plate type, turbulent promoter type, corrugate type and dimple type heat exchanger. The flat plate type is designed as the reference model in order to evaluate how much thermal performance increases. The turbulent promoter type is fabricated with cylindrical-type vortex generators and rib-type turbulent promoters. The corrugate type is obtained from the conventional stainless steel compact heat exchangers, which are called the herringbone-type compact heat exchangers. The dimple type has a number of dimples on its surface. In this study, the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the plastic plate heat exchanger are investigated using numerical simulation and compared with experimental results. Numerical simulation is carried out using the FLUENT code. The flows are assumed as a three-dimensional, incompressible and turbulent model. The computational analysis and experimental results both show that the friction coefficient and Nu number is highest in the corrugate type. The tendency of numerical simulation results is in good agreement with that of the experimental results.

  • Four simulation models of plastic plate heat exchangers are designed and simulated. The turbulence promoter type heat exchanger is fabricated with cylindrical-type vortex generators and rib-type turbulence promoters. The corrugate type is obtained from the conventional stainless steel compact heat exchangers, which are called the herringbone-type compact heat exchangers. The dimple type heat exchanger has a number of dimples on its surface. In this study, the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the plastic plate heat exchanger are investigated using numerical simulation and compared with experimental results. The flows are assumed as a three-dimensional, incompressible and turbulent model. The standard k-$\varepsilon$ model is used as the turbulent flow modeling, the SIMPLE algorithm is used to treat the coupling between pressure and velocity, and first order upwind scheme is used for discretization of momentum, turbulent and energy. The computational analysis and experimental results both show that the friction coefficient and Nu number is highest in the corrugate type.

질소산화물 제거를 위한 $TiO_2$계 촉매 제조 및 특성 시험 (Characterization of $TiO_2$ base catalyst for de-NOx)

  • One of main catalysts for De-NOx in SCR is a $V_2O_5/TiO_2$, and this work formulated powdery catalysts focusing ultimately on corrugate catalytic support. The prepared catalyst consisted of anatase $TiO_2$. Amount of the added vanadium oxide determined the viscosity of catalyst slurry, which is important for washcoat for a final corrugate type catalytic reactor. The test showed a proportional relation between adsorption amount of ammonia and specific surface area. De-NOx efficiency could be obtained up to 96.3 % at $400^{\circ}C$ with a spacial velocity of $4,000hr^{-1}$.

  • Aluminum plate heat exchanger, rotary wheel heat exchanger, and heat pipe heat exchanger have been used (or ventilation heat recovery in the air-conditioning system. The purpose of this research is to develop high efficiency plastic plate heat exchanger which can substitute aluminum plate heat exchanger. Because thermal conductivity of plastic is quite small compared to that of aluminum, various heat transfer enhancement techniques are applied in the design of plastic plates. Five types of heat exchanger model are designed and manufactured, which are plate type, plate-fin type, turbulent promoter type, corrugate type, and dimple type. Thermal performance and pressure loss of each heat exchangers are measured in various operating conditions, and compared each other. Test results show that heat transfer performance of corrugate type, turbulent promoter type, and dimple type are increases about $43\%$, $14\%$, and $33\%$ at the equivalent fan power compared to those of plate type, respectively. On the other hand, the heat transfer performance of plate-fin type decreases $9\%$ because fins can not play their own role.

운전조건 변화에 따른 루버휜 열교환기 성능변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance of the Louver Fin Type Heat Exchanger by the Change of the Driving Condition)

  • The present study was investigated the effect of the driving condition on the performance of a louver fin and tube type heat exchanger under frosting condition. Heat transfer rate and pressure drop by frost were experimentally investigated. Effects of the wet blub temperature and the shape of a fin on heat transfer performances has been also investigated. The key parameters were fin type(louver and corrugate fin) and the wet blub temperature of air (0.5, 1.0, $1.5^{\circ}C$). The heat transfer performance of the louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was higher by 0.89% than the corrugate fin type. As the wet blub temperature of air were increased, the heat transfer rate, pressure drop and mass of frost of three test models(Type A, B, C) were increased. Especially, the maximum heat transfer rate and maximum pressure drop were shown for the louver fin and tube type heat exchanger. As a experimental result, the enhancement factor(EF) of louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was $0.2{\sim}0.4$ due to the high pressure drop.

  • 본 논문은 강관과 콘크리트가 함께 축력에 저항하는 합리적인 콘크리트 강관구조형식에 대해 무피복상태에서 내화성능을 높이는 연구이다. 콘크리트 강관구조는 내부 콘크리트로 인한 열저항 성능이 매우 우수하지만, 국내에서는 일정시간 동안 내화성능을 확보하도록 규정하고 있는 내화구조시스템으로 피복처리가 되지 않는 상태에서는 활발하게 적용되지 못하고 있다. 따라서 콘크리트충전 강관구조 기둥의 구조성능을 향상시키기 위하여 강관 내측면에 부착하는 리브요소를 개발하고 그것의 효과적인 형상을 개발하는 연구로서 콘크리트 강관기둥 내측면에 Corrugated Rib를 부착하여 구조적압축 및 좌굴 저항능력을 향상시키는 CFT 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 이에 대한 연구 결과, 강관 내면 부착 리브의 적용으로 내화시 CFT 기둥의 내력상승에 의한 좌굴방지를 확인하였고, 내화성능기준 또한 만족하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 개발된 강재리브(Corrugate rib)구조 보강재를 활용한 CFT의 공법은 내화피복 없이 구조 및 내화성능을 만족시키는 것으로 판단된다. 향후 rib의 다양한 형태를 변수로 하는 연구와 공장생산에서 공정을 효율화 시키고, 경제성 있는 시스템으로 활용할 수 있도록 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

착상에 의한 휜관형 열교환기의 성능변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Performance Change of the Fin and Tube Type Heat Exchanger by the Frosting)

  • The present study was investigates the effect of the parameters on the frost formation and heat transfer performance such as fin shape, air temperature and air velocity. Heat transfer rate and pressure drop by frost were experimentally investigated. Effect of the wet blub temperature and air velocity on the heat transfer performance has been also investigated. The heat transfer performance of the louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was higher by maximum of 0.85% than the corrugate fin type at the air temperature of $2.0/1.5^{\circ}C$. As the wet blub temperature of air were increased, the heat transfer rate, pressure drop and mass of frost of three test models were increased. Especially, the maximum heat transfer rate and maximum pressure drop were shown for the Type B louver fin heat exchanger. As an experimental result, the enhancement factor(EF) of louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was only $0.2{\sim}0.4$ due to the high pressure drop.

파형강관 내부 구속 중공 철근 콘크리트 기둥의 내진 성능 (Seismic Performance of Internally Confined Hollow RC Column with Corrugated Steel Tube)

  • 파형강관으로 내부 구속된 중공 철근콘크리트 기둥(파형강관 내부 구속 중공 RC 기둥, ICH RC-CT column ; Internally Confined Hollow RC column with a Corrugated Steel Tube)의 내진 성능 평가 실험을 수행하였다. 준정적 실험을 통하여 ICH RC-CT 기둥과 일반 중실 RC 기둥의 내진 성능을 비교 평가 하였다. 각각의 기둥 시험체에 대해 하중과 변위의 관계를 측정하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 연성도, 소산에너지, 등가 감쇠비, 손상 지수가 계산되었다. 실험 결과 ICH RC-CT 기둥은 중실 RC 기둥에 비해 작은 에너지 소산능력을 보여주었으나, 에너지 연성도와 등가 점성 감쇠비 측면에서는 거의 대등한 성능을 보여주었다.
