  • Time-frequency analysis (TFA) method was applied to identify the integrity of the internal local surface of a pipe where some chemical corrosions are likely to occur by acid mixed in the coolant of nuclear power plants. The spalling out of internal material pieces by corrosion induces some transient signals and the change of structural vibration of a local point in the pipe. It is therefore possible to detect the corrosion detachment through the measurement of the transient acoustic signals or the vibration signals. In this presentation, the TFA was configured on the vibrational signal data of the pipe and it is identified that the TFA can Provide an important information, i.e., the amplitude fluctuations in the instantaneous frequency of each characteristic frequency.

  • We carried out to measure the variations of potential with current density polymers. The results were particularly examined to identify the influences on corrosion potential and corrosion rate of various factors including temperature and pH. The Tafel slope for anodic dissolution was determined by the polarization effect depending on these conditions. The optimum conditions were established for each case. The second anodic current density peak and maximum passive current density were designated as the relative corrosion sensitivity($I_{r}I_{f}$). The mass transfer coefficient value (${\alpha}$) was determined with the Tafel slope for anodic dissolution based on the polarization effect with optimum conditions.

  • The fuel of light water reactor used far several years at high temperature and pressure, so it needs to clad with high corrosion resistance material. The cladding materials need low absorption of a neutron and high corrosion resistance. Cladding materials used Zircaloy-2 in Boiling Water Reactor, Zircaloy-4 in Pressurized Water Reactor and Zirlo has good for long term corrosion. If fracture of cladding tube occured during operation, it caused disaster. So it is needed to estimate of integrity fur cladding materials. In this paper, tension characteristics of cladding materials are investigate which is basic research far fracture characteristic. Also analysis of residual stress effect between tube type(original type) specimen and flattened type specimen.

  • Stainless steels have been widely considered as metallic separators, due to their passive surface film, which is good for corrosion resistance. However, the high resistivity of the passive film increases interfacial contact resistance between the separators and electrodes. Stainless steels thermal spray coated with a mixture of tungsten carbide and stainless steel powders showed that the coated layer safely combined with the matrix but they suffered many internal defects including voids and cracks. Many cracks were formed in the coated layer and the interface of the matrix and the coated layer during the rolling process. The coated and rolled stainless steels showed lower interfacial contact resistance and corrosion resistance than bare stainless steel because of low resistivity of tungsten carbide and numerous defects, which caused crevice corrosion, in the coated layer.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze their status of underground storage tank(UST) facilities and level of soil contamination, and to establish its management criteria. DB program was developed to analyze the correlation between specific characteristic of UST and level of soil contamination. For a suitable management of UST, leakage monitoring and inspection method of UST was investigated. Inspection period was established based on the leakage rate. The most dominant factor for leakage seemed to be caused by the corrosion. Therefore, main factor, construction method and installation year of UST, and corrosion protection system were suggested for optimal protection of UST. Considering the present management status of UST in Korea, inspection and management criteria of UST should be accomplished in term of contamination protection of leakage, and flexible regulation act should be introduced for each specific site.

  • Arc ion plating (AIP), laser cladding, and nitriding are methods that can prevent mold damage or repair and create cracks and breakages on the die surface. The dissolution and soldering behavior of coated SKD61 by using arc ion plating, laser cladding, and nitriding was investigated. The structure of the coating was investigated as a function of deposition conditions by X-ray diffraction and the crystallographic orientation was determined using the texture factor. The TiAlN film deposited with AIP showed excellent corrosion resistance in the molten aluminum alloy at 680℃. In this paper, we have detailed the corrosion and mass loss phenomena associated with these steel-cast metal interactions.

자동차 알루미늄 필라튜브의 특성평가 (Characteristic Evaluation of Aluminium Filler Tube of Automotive)

  • The characteristic evaluation of an aluminium filler tube for automotive is presented in this paper. The material of filler tube was used AL3003 aluminium. In characteristic evaluation of an aluminium filler, we measured the corrosion, chemical resistance, weight, leak, welding strength, exciting endurance, and the solt spray test etc.. It has been shown that the weight decreased approximately 61% in aluminum filler tube developed comparing with steel filler tube. As the characteristic evaluation on the manufactured aluminium filler it was enough satisfied to use at the automotive filler tube.

  • 각종 환경 조건에서 진동 캐비테이션 침식-부식 시험 장치에 의해 연강(SS41)의 캐비테이션 침식-부식 손상 거동에 관한 연구를 한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 해수 중에서 캐비테이션 침식-부식 손상 거동은 중앙부와 테두리 부에서 거의 비슷한 정도로 발생하여 성장되지만, 증류수 중에서는 테두리부에서 손상이 먼저 발생한 다음 중앙부에도 손상이 점차 일어난다. 2) 비저항이 낮은 수도수 중의 캐비테이션 침식-부식 손상은 초기에는 비저항이 높은 증류수중에서의 것보다 증가하지만 시간이 경과하면서 CaCO 하(3)의 피막 형성에 의해 둔화된다. 3) 케비테이션 침식-부식 손상 특성은 잠복기, 증가기, 감소기 및 안정기의 4단계로 구분된다.

어류 전처리 가공기계용 재료 SUS420J2강의 침지부식 특성 (Immersion Corrosion Characteristic of SUS420J2 Steel with a Material for Fish Pre-Processing Machinery)

  • SUS420J2강은 내식성이 우수하고 강도가 커서 어류가공용 기계의 재료로써 사용되어지고 있다. 그러나 이 역시 환경의 영향에 의하여 열화되고 있으며, 특히 후처리의 조건에 따라 그 정도가 심해질 수도 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 열처리 후 전해연마한 경우에 있어서는 부식의 정도가 미약하였으나 단일 후처리방법을 사용하였을 때에는 입계부식 및 공식의 영향이 커지고 부식생성물의 생성이 용이해졌다. 실험의 결과로부터 열처리후 전해연마한 SUS420J2강의 부식정도가 가장 덜 민감하게 나타났으므로, 어류 전처리 가공기계용 재료로서 SUS420J2강의 사용에 있어서는 열처리 후 전해연마의 방법으로 후처리를 하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각된다. 금후, 경도 및 표면상태의 파라미터(parameter)를 고려한 부식시험과 현장에서의 외력의 작용을 고려한 응력부식 실험이 결과도 병행되어져야만 한다고 생각한다

CA2 혼입 페이스트의 부식저항성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Corrosion Resistance of CA2-Mixed Paste)

  • Deterioration in durability of structures due to the steel corrosion is difficult to determine whether or not corrosion is initiated and how much propagated, and moreover, repair and maintenance are not easy to deal with. Therefore, preventive treatments can be the best option to avoid the deterioration. Various methods for preventing corrosion of steel, such as electrochemical treatments, anti-corrosion agents and steel surface coatings, are being developed, but economic and environmental aspects make it difficult to apply them to in-situ field. Thus, the purpose of this study was to improve corrosion resistance by using CA-based clinker that are relatively simple and expected to be economically profitable Existing CA-based clinkers had problems such as flash setting and low strength development during the initial hydration process, but in order to solve this problem, CA clinker with low initial reactivity were used as binder in this study. The cement paste used in the experiments was replaced with CA2 clinker for 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% in OPC. And the mixture used in the chloride binding test for the extraction of water-soluble chloride was intermixed with Cl- 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 3% by weight of binder content. To evaluate characteristic of hydration heat evolution, calorimetry analysis was performed and simultaneously chloride binding capacity and acid neutralization capacity were carried out. The identification of hydration products with curing ages was verified by X-ray diffraction analysis. The free chloride extraction test showed that the chlorine ion holding ability improved in order OC 10 > OC 30 > OC 20 > OC 0 and the pH drop resistance test showed that the resistance capability in pH 12 was OC 0 > OA 10 > OA 20 > OA 30. The XRD analyses showed that AFm phase, which can affect the ability to hold chlorine ions, tended to increase when CA2 was mixed, and that in pH12 the content of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), which indicates pH-low resistance, decreased as CA2 was mixed
