  • This paper deals with a simulation and a position control for linear synchronous motor with Halbach array (HA) permanent magnet mover. The results of control simulation for HA-PMLSM having air-core primary are calculated using Matlab Simulink. The prototype of HA-PMLSM is tested DSP (TMS320F240 EVM).

광디스크 드라이브의 고속 액세스를 위한 광픽업 액추에이터 메커니즘 설계 (Mechanism Design of Optical Pickup Actuator for Fast Access of Optical Disk Drive)

  • In this paper, mechanism design of optical pickup actuator for fast access is proposed. This actuator is composed of moving magnet type actuator and moving coil type actuator for tracking and fine motion, respectively. Moving magnet type tracking actuator is configurated by two permanent magnets and four air-core solenoids. Additional damper by induced current in tracking actuator can reduce the transient vibration between the coarse seeking servo and fine seeking servo. Variable stiffness can be acquired by applying current to air-core solenoid simply. This actuator can achieve fast access by these additional damper and stiffness. Performance of this actuator is predicted through the FEM, simulation and simple experiment. Settling time for transient vibration is reduced to 14.7% according to simulation result.

  • A fundamental technology of UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle) to perform a given mission with success in various environment is a path planning method which generates a safe and optimal path to the goal. In this paper, we suggest a local path-planning method of UGV based on the binary map using world model data which is gathered from terrain perception sensors. In specially, we present three core algorithms such as shortest path computation algorithm, path optimization algorithm and path smoothing algorithm those are used in the each composition module of LPP component. A simulation is conducted with M&S(Modeling & Simulation) system in order to verify the performance of each core algorithm and the performance of LPP component with scenarios.

  • This paper describes the design and the analysis of electromagnetic system of Magnetic Switch using 2D parametric finite element method(EM-Pulse). Magnetic Switch is electrical equipment, which is widely used for switching on/off motors in industrial field. The transient state is simulated in order to calculate the response time of Magnetic Switch. The simulation is based upon a step-by-step integration of the electric circuit equations and the core movement. The contactor uses a permanent magnet for maintaining the closed state. The presented solution takes account of non-linear magnetic material property and spring force controlled by core position. The dynamic response of Magnetic Switch predicted by the simulation agrees closely with the required condition.

  • Railway companies have been faced with many changes in the railway environment. To cope immediately with the influence of environment and to improve productivity, an efficient train operation system and related core technologies must be introduced. The railway system is composed of large scale infrastructures and high-cost trains. Simulation method is one of core technologies and also efficient tool for planning and analyzing these kinds of complex system. In this research, we review basic simulation programming models and present a modeling for the elements of railway system such as rail-line infrastructure, train, time table and operational route. Additionally, some considerations on the development of multi-train traffic simulator for KyongBu-line are discussed.

  • This paper describes the methodology of connecting MASTER (Multi-purpose Analyzer for Static and Transient Effects of Reactors) to simulator system, system configuration, and previous test. The actual simulator environment for Youngkwang Unit1 has been developed. It is impossible for the simulator server to execute MASTER code by limitation of computer performance. So, environment of distributed system was developed, and it had a synchronization task. As MASTER and simulator module should be synchronized in different device, the connection of communication was tested and verified.

난류 파이프 유동 내 다섯 개의 영역 (Five layers in turbulent pipe flow)

  • Five layers in mean flow are proposed by using the direct numerical simulation data of turbulent pipe flow up to Reτ = 3008. Viscous sublayer, buffer layer, mesolayer, log layer and core region are investigated. In the buffer layer, the viscous force is counterbalanced by the turbulent inertia from the streamwise mean momentum balance, and a log law occurs here. The overlap layer is composed of the mesolayer and the log layer. Above the buffer layer, the non-negligible viscous force causes the power law, and this region is the mesolayer, where it is the lower part of the overlap layer. At the upper part of the overlap layer, where the viscous force itself becomes naturally negligible, the log layer will appear due to that the acceleration force of the large-scale motions increases as the Reynolds number increases. In the core region, the velocity-defect form is satisfied with the power-law scaling.

Study on seismic behavior of fabricated beam-column bolted joint

  • To better promote the development of fabricated buildings, this paper studies the seismic behavior of precast concrete beam-column bolted joint under vertical low cyclic loading. The experimental results show that cracks appear in the beam-column joint core area. Meanwhile, the concrete and the grade 5.6 bolts are damaged and deformed, respectively. Specifically, the overall structure of the beam-column joint remains intact, and the bolts have good energy dissipation capacity. Based on the experimental study, a new method of beam-column bolted connection is proposed in simulation analysis. The simulation results show that the bolts deform in the core area of the new beam-column joint, which enhances the concrete shear capacity legitimately and protects the T-end of the beam against shear failure. To summarize, both the experimental joint and the simulated joint prolong the service life by replacing the bolts under the seismic loading. The research results provide a reference for applications of the fabricated beam-column joint.

Numerical Simulation of a Protostar Flare Loop between the Core and Disk

  • One-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling of a protostellar flare loop is presented. The model consists of thermally isolated loop connecting the central core and the accretion disk. We found that the conductive heat flux of a flare heated the accretion disk up to coronal temperature and consequently the disk is evaporated and disappeard. This effect may explain the ovserved feature of the repeated flare from the young stellar object YLW 15.

  • In Smart mobile devices embedding big.LITTLE architectures, the conventional multi-core assignment scheme for user applications may incur wasteful energy consumption and long response time. In this paper, we propose a user experience assisted energy-efficient multicore assignment scheme. Our simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves at 40% less energy consumption and at 20% less response time comparing to the legacy scheme.
