Sound Absorption Rate and Sound Transmission Loss of CLT Wall Panels Composed of Larch Square Timber Core and Plywood Cross Band

  • The square timbers of larch having cross section of $90mm{\times}90mm$ were glued laterally to be formed $1,200mm{\times}2,400mm$ panels which were used as cores for CLT wall panels. Then, structural plywood panels having size of $1,200mm{\times}2,400mm$ were used as cross band covering the small square timber cores to manufacture CLT wall panels. The sound absorption rate of CLT wall panels and polyester board attached CLT wall panels were investigated. The mean sound absorption coefficients of the former and the latter in the frequency range of 100-6400 Hz were 0.21 and 0.74, respectively. The noise reduction coefficients (NRC) of those were 0.21 and 0.40, respectively. Also, the mean sound transmission loss of CLT wood panel in the frequency range of 50-1600 Hz was 45.12 dB and that value at the frequency of 500 Hz was 42.49 dB. It was suggested that the polyester board attached CLT wall panels could be used as housing wall because of its high sound absorption rate and high sound transmission loss.

복합재료로 만들어진 단순지지 샌드위치 슬래브 교량의 파괴강도해석 (Failure Strength Analysis of Simply Supported Sandwich Slab Bridges made by Composite Materials)

  • 본 논문에서는 복합재료로 만들어진 단순지지된 샌드위치 슬래브 교량의 설계 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 거더나 가로보를 포함한 대부분의 교량시스템에서 교량 상판은 특별직교이방성판으로 거동한다. 이러한 단면을 갖는 시스템은 Navier 해법이나 Levy 해법 형태와는 다른 경계조건 또는 불규칙한 단면을 갖게 되어 해석적 해법을 얻기가 쉽지 않다. 이러한 문제를 해석하기 위하여 유한차분법이 이용되었다. 복합재료로 이루어진 교량을 설계하기위하여, 단면은 가장 경제적이면서 응력에 유리한 폼코어 형태를 채택하였고, 응력을 산출함에 있어서는 유한차분법 프로그램을 이용하였다. 복합신소재 특수기술자의 실험을 기초로 질량이 증가에 따른 파이버의 인장강도 감소를 나타내는 공식을 도출하였다. 이 공식으로부터 치수 증가에 따른 인장강도 감소량을 구 할 수 있다. 파괴강도는 Tasi-Wu의 파괴강도이론을 이용하였다. 파괴강도해석은 본 논문에서 제시하고 있는 인장강도의 감소를 고려하여 제시하였다.

소성 분위기에 따른 인공골재의 미세구조 관찰 (Microstructural observation of artificial aggregates at various sintering atmospheres)

  • 소성 분위기를 변화시켜 골재를 제조할 때 골재의 중앙에 만들어지는 블랙코어(black core) 형성정도의 차이와 골재 물성의 차이점을 알아보기 위해 적점토, 탄소(carbon), 산화철($Fe_2O_3$)이 혼합된 직경 10mm 구형골재를 조성별로 산화분위기, 중성분위기, 환원분위기에서 각각 소성시키고 각각의 비중, 흡수율, 블랙코어 면적비(%)를 측정하고 비교하였다. 산화분위기에서 소성시킨 골재는 껍질(shell)과 블랙코어가 뚜렷하게 구분되는 반면 중성 및 환원분위기에서 소성한 시편에서는 시편의 단면전체에 블랙코어가 형성되었다. 산화분위기와 중성분위기와는 달리 환원분위기에서 소성된 시편에서는 탄소첨가량이 증가할수록 비중이 증가했으며, 전반적인 비중은 가장 낮았다. 흡수율은 모든 분위기에서 탄소첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

  • 일반적인 슬래브대신에 중공슬래브를 사용함으로 콘크리트의 무게를 줄일 수 있으며 비용도 절감시킬 수 있다. 하지만 중공슬래브는 복부에서 콘크리트단면의 감소와 전단철근을 배근할 수 없기 때문에 전단에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 프리캐스트-프리스트레스트 중공슬래브를 실험을 기반으로 전단강도 평가를 수행하였다. 전단강도실험은 6개의 실험체를 제작하고 수행하였으며, 전단강도는 현행기준인 EC2, ACI, EN1168, AASHTO로 평가하여 비교분석하였다.

Shear behavior of short square tubed steel reinforced concrete columns with high-strength concrete

  • Six shear-critical square tubed steel reinforced concrete (TSRC) columns using the high-strength concrete ($f_{cu,150}=86.6MPa$) were tested under constant axial and lateral cyclic loads. The height-to-depth ratio of the short column specimens was specified as 2.6, and the axial load ratio and the number of shear studs on the steel shape were considered as two main parameters. The shear failure mode of short square TSRC columns was observed from the test. The steel tube with diagonal stiffener plates provided effective confinement to the concrete core, while welding shear studs on the steel section appeared not significantly enhancing the seismic behavior of short square TRSC columns. Specimens with higher axial load ratio showed higher lateral stiffness and shear strength but worse ductility. A modified ACI design method is proposed to calculate the nominal shear strength, which agrees well with the test database containing ten short square TSRC columns with shear failure mode from this study and other related literature.

Seismic behavior of reinforced concrete interior beam-column joints with beams of different depths

  • Current Design Codes for Reinforced Concrete (RC) interior beam-column joints are based on limited experimental studies on the seismic behavior of eccentric joints. To supplement existing information, an experimental study was conducted that focused on the effect of eccentricity of the deeper beams with respect to the shallow beams. A total of eight one-third scale interior joints with beams of different depths were subjected to reverse cyclic loading. The primary variables in the test specimens were the amount of joint transverse reinforcement and the cross section of the shallow beams. The overall performance of each test assembly was found to be unsatisfactory in terms of joint shear strength, stiffness, energy dissipation and shear deformation. The results indicated that the vertical eccentricity of spandrel beams in this type of joint led to lower capacity in joint shear strength and severe damage of concrete in the joint core. Increasing the joint shear reinforcement was not effective to alter the failure mode from joint shear failure to beam yielding which is favorable for earthquake resistance design, whereas it was effective to reduce the crack width at the small loading stages. Based on the observed behavior, the shear stress of the joint core was suggested to be kept as low as possible for a safe and practical design of this type of joint.

폐유리를 재활용한 인공경량골재의 발포기구 (Bloating Mechanism of Artificial Lightweight Aggregate for Recycling the Waste Glass)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve recycling rate of the waste glasses by investigating bloating mechanism. In this study, we use waste glass(W/G) and hard clay(H/C) as raw materials. The artificial lightweight aggregates were formed by plastic forming($\phi$=10 mm) and sintered by fast firing method at different temperatures(between 700 and $1250^{\circ}C$). The physical properties of the aggregates such as bulk specific gravity, adsorption and microstructure of surface and cross-section are investigated with the sintering temperature and rate of W/G-H/C contents. As the result of the bulk specific gravity graphs, we can found out the inflection point at content of W/G 60 wt%. From the microstructure images, we considered the artificial lightweight aggregates content of W/ G over 60wt% are distributed numerous micro-pores by organic oxidation without Black Core and the artificial lightweight aggregates of W/G below 60 wt% are distributed macro-pores with Black Core.

철심 변류기의 2차 전류 보상 알고리즘의 실시간 구현 및 오차 분석 (Hardware implementation and error analysis of an algorithm for compensating the secondary current of iron-cored current transformers)

  • The conventional method to deal with current transformer (CT) Saturation is over dimensioning of the core so that CTs can carry up to 20 times the rated current without exceeding 10% ratio correction. However, this not only reduces the sensitivity of relays as some errors may still be present in the secondary current when a severe fault occurs, but also increases the CT size. This paper presents an algorithm for compensating the distorted secondary current of iron-cored CTs under CT saturation using the magnetization (flux-current : .lambda.-i) curve and its performance is examined for fault currents encountered on a typical 345[kV] Korean transmission system, under a variety of different system and fault conditions. In addition, the results of hardware implementation of the algorithm using a TMS320C10 digital signal processor are also presented. The proposed algorithm can improve the sensitivity of relays to low level internal faults, maximize the stability of relays for external faults, and reduce the required CT core cross-section significantly. 티타늄 자전거의 다중 조인트 접합을 위한 초소성 하이드로포밍과 확산 접합 기술 (Joining of Multi Nodes of a Titanium Bicycle by the Superplastic Hydroforming and Diffusion Bonding Technology)

  • The superplastic forming/diffusion bonding process has been developed to fabricate a core frame structure with joint nodes out of tubes, for the development of a titanium high performance bicycle. The hydroforming process has been applied for bulging of a tube in the superplastic condition before, and during the diffusion bonding process. In this experiment, a commercial Ti-3Al-2.5V tube was selected as raw material for the study. The forming experiment has been performed using a servo-hydraulic press with a capacity of 200 ton. Next, nitrogen gas was used to acquire necessary pressure for the bulging and bonding of the tubes to fabricate the joint nodes. The pertinent processing temperature was $870^{\circ}C$ for the superplastic hydroforming/diffusion bonding (SHF/DB) process, using the Ti-3Al-2.5V tube. The bonding quality and the progress of bulging and diffusion bonding have been observed by the investigation of the joining interfaces at the cross section of the joint structure. The control of the nitrogen pressure throughout the SHF/DB process, was an important factor to avoid any significant defects in the joint structure. The whole progress stage of the diffusion bonding could be observed at a joint interface. A core structure with 5 joint nodes to manufacture a titanium bicycle could be obtained in a SHF/DB process.

A Study on Reusable Metal Component as Burnable Absorber Through Monte Carlo Depletion Analysis

  • After nuclear power plants are permanently shut down and decommissioned, the remaining irradiated metal components such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and Inconel can be used as neutron absorber. This study investigates the possibility of reusing these metal components as neutron absorber materials, that is burnable poison. The absorption cross section of the irradiated metals did not lose their chemical properties and performance even if they were irradiated over 40-50 years in the NPPs. To examine the absorption capability of the waste metals, the lattice calculations of WH 17×17 fuel assembly were analyzed. From the results, Inconel-718 significantly hold-down fuel assembly excess reactivity compared to stainless steel 304 and carbon steel because Inconel-718 contains a small amount of boron nuclide. From the results, a 20wt% impurity of boron in irradiated Inconel-718 enhances the excess reactivity suppression. The application of irradiated Inconel-718 as a burnable absorber for SMR core was investigated. The irradiated Inconel-718 impurity with 20wt% of boron content can maintain and suppress the whole core reactivity. We emphasize that the irradiated metal components can be used as burnable absorber materials to control the reactivity of commercial reactor power and small modular reactors.
