  • Dance, as an art which expresses thoughts and emotions by movement human, is included in work that its copyright has to be protected, choreographers who are creators and dancers who are performing can exercise their rights included in copyright laws. However, artists who work in the dancing scene have lack of awareness about copyrights and the application level is low. The purpose of this thesis is to look into the current status and issues about dance copyright and to discuss activation plans and effectiveness plans for dance copyrights. The main point is to check into the level of awareness for dance copyrights with choreographers, dancers and students majoring in dance who are in charge of the art of dancing, to present issues about the necessity of the dance copyrights protection plans by analyzing interviews-in-depth and to prepare the dance copyrights protection plans which are concretely realistic. For the research methods, first, I looked into ideas and contents about copyrights through a document research and then, wanted to prepare theoretical background by reviewing actual cases of performing art copyrights related to dance. Next, I carried out surveys about awareness of copyrights with students majoring in dance, choreographers and dancers then carried out analysis of actual proof. Also, I chose three famous dancers who are actively performing in the current dancing scene and did interviews-in-depth about dance copyrights then carried out a recording analysis. I tried to complement the analysis by discussing deeper which I couldn't deal with in the previous surveys and to contemplate awareness activation of dance copyrights and plans. As a result of the research, the level of the awareness about dance copyrights through age, major, education and career was very low. The level of awareness was almost same compared to the previous research 10 years ago. 'Music', which can be an element of copyright issue in dance, was the highest in rate, and dance was recognized as an art which is combined with various elements as a combination work. The way of protection for works of choreography and performance only used data preservation and contracts and didn't register copyrights or record in dace notation. Majority of responders answered that they couldn't have any education about copyrights while they were recognizing the necessity of education and management for copyrights. The analysis of interviews-in-depth was also matched to the result of the previous surveys and a deeper discussion about the status of dance copyrights and issues was carried out. The plans of effectiveness for dance copyrights through the result of previous research are as followings. First, an advanced education is necessary above all to increase the awareness and application of copyrights in dancing scene. Long-term education like study curriculums and short-term education like special courses and seminars should be combined, and education about copyrights for dance groups, choreographers, dancers and students majoring in dance should keep on going. Second, revision of performing art works is necessary for the activation of dance copyrights, and establishing a dance copyright association to manage copyrights systematically and training dance copyright experts are necessary as well. Third, as the way of copyright protection for choreographers and dancers, an establishment for relation gain and loss about copyrights is necessary when creating dance works and performing, and registration of dance works should be activated. Also, the dancing scene should sign contracts for choreography and performance and this contract culture should be activated, and it should systematically preserve and manage choreography and performance records through basic ways. Hereby, it is considered to prepare a foundation to foster the awareness of dance copyrights and activate dance copyrights.

  • Meaningful logos or random sequences have been used in the current digital watermarking techniques of 2D bar code. The meaningful logos can not only be created by copyright holders based on their unique information, but are also very effective when representing their copyrights. The random sequences enhance the security of the watermark for verifying one's copyrights against intentional or unintentional attacks. In this paper, we propose a new watermarking technique taking advantage of Data Matrix as well as encryption keys. The Data Matrix not only recovers the original data by an error checking and correction algorithm, even when its high-density data storage and barcode are damaged, but also encrypts the copyright verification information by randomization of the barcode, including ownership keys. Furthermore, the encryption keys and the patterns are used to localize the watermark, and make the watermark robust against attacks, respectively. Through the comparison experiments of the copyright information extracted from the watermark, we can verify that the proposed method has good quality and is robust to various attacks, such as JPEG compression, filtering and resizing.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the antecedent factors to the piracy of the digital copyrights in order to provide basic data for piracy prevention policy. The findings of study revealed that most respondents had experiences to copy MP3 files illegally. And many respondents answered they didn't copy pirated material by themselves but others did piracy a lot. The feeling of quilt and anxiety against piracy is shown very low level. Low copy cost and regulation level significantly impact upon the cognitive level of other's piracy. Updated contents, the higher price of authenticated materal, piracy regulation are the significant antecedent factors to the level of piracy. The level of piracy activity and anxiety against piracy are significantly different by age. The cognitive level of other's piracy, piracy activity and anxiety are significantly different by gender.

  • Short message service (SMS) is a Popular mobile data service in cellular networks. One SMS message can carry 50 Korean alphabets. Cellular operators standard and develop multimedia message service (MMS) based on P2P as color phones having multimedia solutions such as MIDI, MP3, JPG, PNG, and MPEG have been developed. MMS can be a key cash flow in the non-voice mobile revenue together with SMS. Copyrights protection of contents in a MMS message can be issued as MMS can be the popular P2P service such as MMS. In this paper, we propose MMS DRM system to protect copyrights of contents in MMS with the minimum change of MMS system. The proposed MMS DRM system protect copyrights of contents using DRM Packager, DRM Server, and DRM Agent and support various use cases to activates MMS in mobile networks.

  • Today, Digital Right Management (DRM) is used to protect copyrights of digital contents from illegal reproduction and redistribution. Unfortunately, current DRM systems are causing user's discomfort because of lack of mutual compatibility. In order to overcome this drawback, technologies for interoperability of heterogeneous DRM systems are developing. In this paper, we study the protection profile for conversion technologies of heterogeneous DRM systems, using the Common Criteria. Especially, this paper is written by reuse of the existing protection profile. Therefore, performance analysis reveals that efficiency of time and cost is significantly improved. This protection profile can be used by contents provider and administrator who manage user's copyrights to reference data for copyright protection.

  • With the spread of computer and development of internet service, the varied contents and digital data has been produced, then provided. The digital contents are more efficiently able to be created, produced, provided as well as distributed, on the other hand, its own copyrights seem to be more easily broken than analogue contents due to the convenience to make copies of original contents. Therefore, protecting copyrights recently become the key issue. DRM(Digital Rights Management) is the current technology to protect digital contents from duplication but it sometimes causes problems in the key-management. In this thesis, we would first like to analyze DRM and find out some trouble in the key-management of it. Finally, we will show CDMS(CEK Distributed Management System) to improve DRM out of the key-management problem and continue to study for better key-management system with it.

  • DRM(Digital Rights Management) is a technology that manages secure distributions and copyrights of digital contents on the Internet. It is general giving the rights to use the encrypted contents that are downloaded by a simple authorization process in the existing DRM system. Once this is done you are allowed to access. In this paper, we use RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) for end-to-end real-time data transmission. And the system is designed to make it Possible to Protect copyrights and to distribute contents with safety through periodic authentication. We implemented DRM system to stand this basis. The proposed system vests only authorized users with authority to access the license. Hence it prevents contents to be distributed and copied illegally on networks.

  • Building Information Modeling, and its associated work practices, requires project participants to share not only 3D geometric data, but also information in the model that may be considered proprietary and even trade secrets. Thus protection of intellectual property, or BIM copyrights, must be in place for participants to share proprietary information among project stakeholders. Currently Korea does not have adequate copyright laws or mechanisms to provide such protection. This research examined three BIM copyright legal documents, namely U.S.' ConsensusDOCS 301, AIA Document E203/G202, and U.K.'s CIC BIM Protocol to determine how copyright protection is realized, and to formulate appropriate stipulations within the Korean construction context. The resultant requirements include stipulating ownership at to the BIM originator, adopting a license-sublicense scheme, employing a federated model, and use of a formal model delivey table to allocate responsibilities. Given Korea's adoption stage, liability should be minimal, and license revocation should be allowed if payments are not met. The three BIM legal documents focus on practical measures that allow participants to customize requirements for individual projects, and such conventions should be emulated in Korea.

  • Author outlines briefly developments of policies relating to telecommunication infrastructure and databases since latter half of 1970′s. There exist three phases. The first phase was from later 1970′s to 1985, which was an initial stage of electronic information service in Japan. In the second phase, 1985~1990, basic policy change made possible the privatization of telecommunication services and proliferation of database products and vendors, The third phase began in early 1990′s with downsizing in computer usage, wide-spreading information networks and rapid dissemination of personal computers. Then author describes offers on policy formation for "novel information infrastructure" and current situation concerning the "Internet" in Japan. Finally, tasks and problems for implementing new generation program for information infrastructure and database usage are pointed out, These are knowledge resource, cost, copyrights and cultural problems including language.
