  • R-410A, R-407C, and four refrigerant mixtures composed of R-32, R-l34a, R-l43a, R-l52a, R-600(butane), and R-600a(isobutane) were tested in an attempt to replace R-22 used in most of the residential air conditioners. The performance evaluation was carried out in a psychrometric calorimeter test facility using a residential spilt type air conditioner under the KS rating conditions. Except for the lubricant and hand-operated expansion valve, the other parts of the air conditioner were the same with the commercial system. Performance characteristics were measured; COP, capacity, compressor power, and VCR. R-410A was shown to have 5.5% higher COP and 3.5% lower capacity than R-22. R-32/134a/600a (42.8/ 46.0/11.2 wt%) mixture have the best performance among the four refrigerant mixtures composed of hydrofluorocarbon and hydrocarbon. This inixture have 3.0% lower COP and 1.6% lower capacity than R-22.

이젝터가 부착된 냉동시스템의 성능실험

  • Experimental investigation on the performance of dual-evaporator refrigeration system with an ejector has been carried out. In this study, a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant R134a is chosen as a working fluid. The condenser and two-evaporators are made as concentric double pipes with counter-flow type heat exchangers. Experiments were performed by changing the inlet and outlet temperatures of secondary fluids entering condenser, high-pressure evaporator and low-pressure evaporator at test conditions keeping a constant compressor speed. When the external conditions (inlet temperatures of secondary fluid entering condenser and one evaporator) are fixed, results show that coefficient of performance (COP) increases as the inlet temperature of the other evaporator rises. It is also shown that the COP decreases as the mass flaw rate ratio of suction fluid to motive fluid increases. The COP of dual-evaporator refrigeration system with an ejector is superior to that of a single-evaporator vapor compression system by 3 to 6%.

지열원 멀티열펌프 시스템의 용량가변 특성 연구 (Capacity Modulation of a Ground Source Multi-Heat Pump in the Part Load Condtions)

  • 에너지 절약적 차원에서 한 대의 실외기에 다수의 실내기가 접속되는 개별공조형 멀티 열펌프에 관한 연구 및 개발과 보급이 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 복수의 실내기를 갖고 가변속 압축기를 채용한 지열원 물대공기 멀티열펌프시스템을 학교 현장에 설치하여 제조사의 운전 제어 알고리즘에 따라 일일 냉난방 실증 성능 특성을 분석하였다. 2008년 9월 30일의 냉방부하가 낮은 일자에 대하여 시간에 따른 부하 변동에 따라 압축기의 용량가변으로 실내기 냉방용량은 정격용량 대비 17.1%에서 111.3%의 범위에서 변이되었으나, 열펌프 유닛의 일일 최대 COP는 6.2를 나타냈으며, 일일 평균 열펌프 유닛 COP는 4.5로 열펌프 유닛 인증 기준 이상의 성능을 나타냈다. 2008년 11월 10일 대비 2008년 12월 15일에는 시스템 가동 중의 평균 외기온도가 $9.6^{\circ}C$ 감소하였으나, 각 재실공간의 용도별 부분 부하특성으로 11월 10일 보다 난방 부하량이 작게 나타났다. 하지만, 12월 15일에는 부하량이 매우 작아서 11월 10일보다 잦은 압축기 가변에 따른 손실로 일일 평균 COP가 낮게 나타났다. 2009년 1월 12일에는 정격 용량대비 94%의 부하율로 11월 10일과 12월 15일 대비 4배 이상의 부하량으로 압축기 용량 가변율이 작아서 난방용량과 COP 변화율이 작게 나타났다. 2009년 1월 12일에는 지중순환수의 실외열교환기 유입온도가 2008년 12월 15일보다 감소하고, 시스템의 난방용량 증가로 상대적으로 응축기와 증발기 크기가 감소한 효과로 히트펌프 유닛 COP가 감소하였으나, 본 지열원 열펌프 제조사에서 생산하고 있는 본 지열원 시스템과 동일한 압축기 등을 채용한 동일 용량의 공기열원 열펌프의 1월 12일 외기온도 $-10^{\circ}C$에서의 열펌프 유닛 COP 대비 70% 우수한 성능을 나타냈다. 본 지열원 히트펌프의 2008년 11월 10일의 일일 평균 히트펌프 유닛 COP는 외기온도가 낮고 일일 부하량이 크게 나타난 1월 12일의 일일 평균 히트펌프 유닛 COP 대비 37% 높게 나타났으나, 지중순환펌프의 정속운전으로 시스템 요구 지중순환수 유량 증가에 따른 성능 향상보다 소비전력 증가 영향이 커서 1월 12일의 시스템 COP 보다 33.3% 작은 값을 나타냈다. 본 연구의 용량 가변형 압축기를 채용한 지열원 멀티 히트펌프 유닛을 지열원 냉난방 시스템의 히트펌프 유닛으로 사용할 경우 시스템 최적화를 통한 시스템 COP 향상과 연간에너지 절감을 이루기 위해서는 히트펌프의 용량 변화 시에 지중순환펌프의 순환 유량 최적화를 위한 효율적 운전 제어 알고리즘 개발이 요구된다.

SMOOTHING APPROXIMATION TO l1 EXACT PENALTY FUNCTION FOR CONSTRAINED OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS

  • In this paper, a new smoothing approximation to the l1 exact penalty function for constrained optimization problems (COP) is presented. It is shown that an optimal solution to the smoothing penalty optimization problem is an approximate optimal solution to the original optimization problem. Based on the smoothing penalty function, an algorithm is presented to solve COP, with its convergence under some conditions proved. Numerical examples illustrate that this algorithm is efficient in solving COP.

물-물 수온차 히트펌프 시스템의 원수온도에 따른 성능 특성 분석 (Analysis on Cooling and Heating Performance of Water-to-Water Heat Pump System for Water Source Temperature)

  • The research assesses the performance of the water-to-water heat pump system installed in Cheongju water treatment plant for cooling and heating ventilation. In summer season monthly averaged COP is ranged from 3.85 to 4.56 according to the water source temperature, and the performance is increased as the raw water temperature is dropped. While, heating performance is increased for the high temperature water source, and the monthly averaged COP is changed from 2.92 to 3.82. The correlation of the water source temperature and the heat pump performance shows a linear tendency by the simple regression of average data. In heating, the COP of heat pump system linearly rises according to the water source temperature. In comparison, the COP in cooling linearly reduces as the raw water temperature is raised. The goodness of fit at the simple regression shows the coefficient of determination 82% in cooling, 46% in heating. The electric cost of water-to-water heat pump is reduced by 40% compared to that of air source heat pump.

전동 스크롤압축기의 운전rpm에 따른 냉동사이클의 성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Performance of Refrigeration Cycle for various RPM of Inverter Scroll Compressor)

  • An experimental study was performed estimating COP(Coefficient of Performance) of air-conditioning cycle with inverter scroll compressor. All experiments were done for various compressor speeds from 1000~4000 rpm and used the inverter controller called CANDy to change the compressor rpm. The air-conditioning cycle components in the apparatus were used as same with components of YF hybrid car. To estimate the COP, this study measured the temperature and pressure at inlets and outlets of compressor, condenser, and evaporator. And also measured the compressor input power using Powermeter. Through the experiments, the maximum error to estimate COP was shown about ${\pm}6.09%$ at 3500rpm. This study revealed that the condenser temperature and pressure were increased and the evaporator temperature and pressure were decreased with the increased compressor speed. And also, the COP was decreased with increased compressor speed. Those results can be used the basic and fundamental data to design the air-conditioning cycle with inverter scroll compressor.

  • This paper deals with the optimum high pressure control algorithm for a transcritical $CO_2$ mobile air-conditioning system with belt-driven compressor to achieve the maximum COP. The experiments were performed to find out the maximum COP conditions with various operating conditions. The experimental results showed that the COP was increased and then decreased with increase of the refrigerant high pressure for the system. Therefore the value of high pressure which has maximum COP could be selected. Furthermore, the strong (linear) relation between the optimum high pressure and the gas cooler outlet temperature was revealed, which suggests the use of a simple controller with only one parameter for the transcritical $CO_2$ cycle.

The Relationship between Dynamic Balance Measures and Center of Pressure Displacement Time in Older Adults during an Obstacle Crossing

  • Purpose: This study examined the relationship between the center of pressure (COP) displacement time during the stance phase and dynamic balance ability when older adults cross a 10 cm obstacle. Methods: Fifteen older adults were enrolled in this study (all ${\geq}65$ years of age). The F-scan was used to measure the COP displacement time when subjects cross a 10 cm obstacle, and the Dynamic gait index. Berg's balance scale and the Four square step test were used to measure dynamic balance ability. Results: The Dynamic gait index, Berg's balance scale and the Four square step test were correlated with each other. Dynamic balance ability was correlated with COP displacement time during the stance phase at an obstacle crossing in older adults. Conclusion: People with higher dynamic balance ability show a smaller COP displacement time during the stance phase at an obstacle crossing. Therefore, dynamic balance ability can be predicted by measuring the center of pressure displacement time.

태양열 구동 흡수식 냉동기의 기본설계 및 성능분석 (Basic Design and Performance Analysis of an Solar Absorption Chiller)

  • Basic design of a solar driven absorption cooling machine(SDACM) with a cooling capacity of 5 USRT was carried out. The SDACM is a single effect cycle driven by low temperature hot water from solar collectors. The SDACM design data were calculated by the steady state simulation program which was developed in this study The variation of COP and cooling capacity of the SDACM were investigated at different off-design conditions. Both the cooling capacity and the system COP were improved with decreasing cooling water temperature. If hot water temperature was increased, the cooling capacity was improved but the system COP was found to be decreased. The decrease of the system COP were basically caused by increased thermal loads in the system components.
