Development of a Composite Revenue Sharing-Quantity Flexibility Contract

  • In supply chain management, the supply contract can induce collaboration and coordination among the supply chain members in order to optimize supply chain performance. Numerous supply contracts have been examined; however, some difficulties related to the application of these contracts still occur. One of the solutions is to apply the composite supply contract which can assist in the supply chain coordination. This research examines the composite contract of the revenue sharing and quantity flexibility contracts in a two-stage supply chain, which comprises a retailer and a supplier. In this research, a mathematical model of the composite contract is developed; then, the applicability of the proposed composite contract is examined by investigating its capability in terms of supply chain coordination and profit allocation. In the numerical experiments, the composite revenue sharing-quantity flexibility contract showed that it is superior to both component contracts in terms of supply chain coordination and profit allocation among supply chain members.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 공급사슬 계약 성사율 비교 (Comparison of Success Rates of Supply Chain Contract using Simulation)

  • 본 연구는 하나의 공급자와 하나의 소매자가 구성된 분산화된 공급사슬에서 도매가 계약과 수익공유 계약, 수량유연 계약, 판매환급 계약을 비교·분석한다. 선행 연구의 결과에 따라 공급사슬 조정(coordination)이 이루어지는 각 조정 계약의 모수를 설정하였다. 이들 모수의 조합에 대해 @RISK를 활용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하고 공급사슬 조정을 이루는 상태 하에서 계약의 성사율과 각 계약에 유리한 참여자를 평가한다. 결과적으로 수량 유연 계약은 소매자 쪽에 가장 유리하고 판매환급 계약은 공급자 쪽에 가장 유리하다. 수익공유 계약은 공급자와 소매자의 이익 재배분에 가장 넓은 범위에서 선택할 수 있어 더 유연하게 사용할 수 있음을 밝혔다.

Petri Nets Based Coordination Component for CSCW Environment

  • In view of the lack of efficient coordination of interdependent task in the collaborative design system, the mechanisms for temporal and resource coordination problems are established based on Petri Nets, respectively. Both of the mechanisms are encapsulated and implemented in the coordination component so as to increase the flexibility and acceptability of the system. We model the CSCW system based on Petri Nets for simulation, analysis and optimization. A case study on the overhead traveling crane is given to demonstrate and validate our theory.

  • Web services provide an effective means to carry out coordinated transactions between multiple, independent business parties. While there are several specific protocols currently being discussed to address the coordination of web services-enabled business transactions, we consider the tentative hold protocol (THP) that allows the placement of tentative holds on business resources prior to actual transactions in order to provide increased flexibility in coordination. In this paper, we present a formal coordination framework for applying THP in conjunction with 2PC to the problem in which service providers independently manage resources and clients seek to acquire the resources from multiple providers as a single atomic transaction. The proposed framework facilitates the performance optimization of THP through effective parameterization with the notion of overhold size and hold duration. The simulation results show that the proposed adaptive approach yields a significant improvement over other non-adaptive policies.

Rational Design of Coordination Polymers with Flexible Oxyethylene Side Chains

  • We rationally designed and synthesized metallopolymers with organic 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (BDC) linkers with different lengths of oxyethylene side chains in order to examine the influence of side chains on the coordination characteristics. While in a previous report the BDC linkers with alkyl side chains were found to form three-dimensional (3D) isoreticular metal-organic framework (IRMOF) structures or one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymeric structures with short $-O(CH_2)_6CH_3$ or long $-O(CH_2)_9CH_3$ side chains, respectively, new BDC linkers with oxyethylene side chains of the same lengths, $-(OCH_2CH_2)_2CH_3$ and $-(OCH_2CH_2)_3CH_3$, form only 3D IRMOF structures. This result is attributed to the higher flexibility and smaller volume of oxyethylene side chains compared to alkyl side chains.

  • In this paper, a plan-coordination architecture is proposed for multi-agent control in the fractal manufacturing system (FrMS). A fractal in FrMS is a set of distributed agents whose goal can be achieved through cooperation, coordination, and negotiation with other agents. Since each agent in the FrMS generates, achieves, and modifies its own plan fragments autonomously during the coordination process with other agents, it is necessary to develop a systematic methodology for the achievement of global plan in the manufacturing system. The heterarchical structure of the FrMS provides a compromised plan-coordination approach, it compromise a centralized plan-generation/execution (which mainly focuses on the maximization of throughput) with a distributed one (which focuses on the autonomy of each module and flexibility of the whole system). Plan-coordinators in lower level fractal independently generate plan fragments according to the global plan of higher level fractal, and plan-coordinators in higher level fractal mediate/coordinate the plan fragments to enhance the global performance of the system. This paper assumes that generation method of the plan fragments and the negotiation policy of the fractal is achieved by a simple process, and we mainly focuses on the information exchanging and distributed decision making process to coordinate the combinations of plan fragments within a limited exchange of information.

  • Apartment Housing in Korea has been developed rapidly and settled as a main housing form for short period, 40 years. In spite of increase of the apartment housing, it has pointed out that spatial organization of the apartment housing could accommodate residents 'various life style and life cycle. One of such planning methods is a flexible housing. Starting with the Gangbyoun-Siebeom apartment, flexible housing has been developed as merchandising constantly. However, flexible housing doesn't have enough understanding concerning lifestyle or life cycle of user individually, and it also means lack of comprehension and of flexibility, layout from modular coordination and planning of housing component. Therefore, according to the flexibility, the major goal of this research is to analyze the difficulty in realizing further of flexible housing in Korea and suggest implementation and alternatives or directions of flexible housing in Korea.

웹 서비스를 위한 예외 상황 기반 동적 서비스 연결 프레임워크 (Exception based Dynamic Service Coordination Framework for Web Services)

  • 인터넷상에서 접근 가능한 웹 서비스는 가용성 및 성능적 측면에서 신뢰성이 항상 보장되지는 못한다. 동적 서비스 연결 (dynamic service coordination) 기법은 웹 서비스를 호출하는 시스템이나 응용 프로그램에서 이 같이 신뢰할 수 없는 상황에 대처할 수 있는 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 웹 서비스의 신뢰적인 호출을 보장해 주기 위해서 동적 서비스 연결 기법에서는 특정 웹 서비스가 정해진 시간 내에서 응답하지 못할 경우 실행 중에 해당 웹 서비스를 다른 웹 서비스로 대체하여 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 서비스를 위한 예외 상황 기반 동적 서비스 연결 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이 프레임워크에서 동적 서비스 연결에 필요한 모든 정보들은 속성 (attributes) 집합 형태에 의해서 명시적으로 기술된다. 본 논문에서 고안된 동적서비스 연결 기법은 기술된 속성 정보를 기반으로 동적 서비스 연결이 가능한 클래스 또는 워크플로우를 자동으로 생성하고, 생성된 클래스 함수를 통해 웹 서비스를 간접적으로 호출함으로써 신뢰성 있는 웹 서비스 호출을 지원한다. 제안된 방식은 웹 서비스 호출 작업이 간접적으로 이뤄지기 때문에 이에 초래되는 약간의 성능적 손실을 피할 수는 없지만, 이 방법을 통해서 얻어지는 시스템의 유연성 (flexibility) 과 신뢰성 (reliability)를 고려할 때, 다소의 성능적 손실은 많은 경우에 있어서 허용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

다중 로봇의 네이버기준 편대제어 (Neighbor-Referenced Coordination of Multi-robot Formations)

  • This paper presents a decentralized coordination for a small-scale mobile robot teams performing a task through cooperation. Robot teams are required to generate and maintain various geometric patterns adapting to an environment and/or a task in many cooperative applications. In particular, all robots must continue to strive toward achieving the team's mission even if some members fail to perform their role. Toward this end, given the number of robots in a team, an effective coordination is investigated for decentralized formation control strategies. Specifically, all members are required first to reach agreement on their coordinate system and have an identifier (ID) for role assignment in a self-organizing way. Then, employing IDs on individual robots within a common coordinate system, a decentralized neighbor-referenced formation control is realized to generate, keep, and switch between different geometric shapes. This approach is verified using an in-house simulator and physical mobile robots. We detail and evaluate the formation control approach, whose common features include self-organization, robustness, and flexibility.

시설 노인을 위한 기능적 그룹활동 프로그램의 개발 및 운영 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Functional Group Activity Program on Institutionalized Aged)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the changes of physical function, perceptual and cognitive function, emotional function, and functional independence in the institutionalized aged according to functional group activity program (self help Tai Chi exercise plus functional task). Methods: Study subjects were 20 institutionalized aged from June to October in 2010. The subjects received functional group activity program two times a week for 15 weeks. Physical function (grip strength, coordination, lower extremity strength, balance, gait, trunk flexibility), perceptual and cognitive function, emotional function(depression, social skill), and functional independence were measured before and after the program. Results: The subjects showed significantly increased physical function (coordination, lower extremity strength, gait, trunk flexibility), perceptual and cognitive function, emotional function (depression, social skill), and functional independence. The functional group activity program may be an effective strategy for institutionalized elders to enhance their functions. Conclusion: The functional group activity program may be effective on elderly institutions which have limitation in human, material, environmental resources.
