A Study on Effects of the Concept Mapping for Biology Learning (생물학습에 개념도를 이용한 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study was to inquire the effectiveness of concept mapping on the learning of biology concept. In this study the achivement acquired by the students in the classes of individual concept mapping and cooperative concept mapping were compared with those of traditional lecture on "photosynthesis and plant respiration". The concept mapping teaching methods, by individuals and groups. were more effective than traditional one. The results of analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) showed that these difference were statistically significant; individual concept mapping was more effective than traditional class result(p<.008). Also the cooperative concept mapping was effective than traditional class result(p<.0001). And the cooperative concept mapping was more effective than the individual one(p<.04). So that cooperative concept mapping is the most effective method in biology class.

A Research on Meaning of Conflict Experience in Cooperative Learning Activity of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers (예비유아교사의 협동학습에서의 갈등경험 의미 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the meaning of conflict experience in cooperative learning activities of pre-service early childhood teachers. The subjects were 85 pre-service early childhood teachers in W university. The data were collected through unstructured interviews and journal writings of the participants. The study results were as follow. First, pre-service early childhood teacher's conflict experiences in cooperative activity are team meeting, fair participation and evaluation, and conflict of the personal relations. Second, pre-service early childhood teacher's conflict resolution experiences in cooperative activity are autonomy of the team meeting time, reflective thinking, sentimental support, recognition of others, and solving problems by the time spending together. Third, the meanings of conflict experience in cooperative activity are formation of felt responsibility, self-growth through consideration of others, reciprocity, and recognition of the meaning of cooperation.

The Trend and The Issues of Domestic Studies in Relation to Science Teaching-Learning Methods (과학 교수 학습 방법에 관한 국내 연구 동향 및 이슈)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of domestic studies related to science teaching-learning methods. We reviewed articles published according to year, method, subjects and topic. The methods reported commonly in science education books were extracted. Experiment, cooperative learning, and discussion were methods which had been researched widely. Experimental study of them was utilized most. And next content analysis, survey, and case study were utilized much. The most object of experimental study was middle school students. These reviewed papers showed effects which were related to science achievement, attitude, inquiry ability and self-efficacy. As a result of this study we should research to apply and develop science teaching-learning methods variously. We ought to enlarge research direction to analyze context which applies science teaching-learning methods to educational field by qualitative study. We should try to study effects of teaching-learning methods longitudinally and latitudinally.

The Effects of Jigsaw II Expert Groupings on Studentis Knowledge, Inquiry Ability and Attitudes at Elementary School Science Study (전문가집단을 활용한 Jigsaw II 협동학습이 과학지식, 탐구능력 및 학습태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, introduced open education, there are some models applied several cooperative teaming, but there is no case in applied Jigsaw Ⅱ. So this research is selected objects which are 147 students in the fifth grade in 1999' school year and 143 students in 2000's on Yongwon elementary school. It makes share a partial responsibility for planner, leader, investigator, helper, writer and reporter in the small groups, and apply the Jigsaw Ⅱ model. Qualitative and quantitative analyses show that they have effects of Jigsaw Ⅱ cooperative Learning on Student's knowledge, inquiry ability and attitudes on Elementary School Science Study. The final results are following. The significance of Knowledge has .02 in 1999 and .01 in 2000. Testification of Inquiry ability has 1.75 in 1999 and 2.25 in 2000. The significance of Attitudes has .03 in 1999 and .00 in 2000. Research that has emerged from the cooperative teaming has led us to better understandings of multi purposed roles, interactions, and communities that arise when students work together to team science. Each of students can also cooperative as co-builders, working as equal participants to create a product that is better than that while would have built by either individual alone. Upon asking their intention, cooperative loaming shows more participation.

Comparative Analysis of Machine Learning Algorithms for Healthy Management of Collaborative Robots (협동로봇의 건전성 관리를 위한 머신러닝 알고리즘의 비교 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for diagnosing overload and working load of collaborative robots through performance analysis of machine learning algorithms. To this end, an experiment was conducted to perform pick & place operation while changing the payload weight of a cooperative robot with a payload capacity of 10 kg. In this experiment, motor torque, position, and speed data generated from the robot controller were collected, and as a result of t-test and f-test, different characteristics were found for each weight based on a payload of 10 kg. In addition, to predict overload and working load from the collected data, machine learning algorithms such as Neural Network, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting models were used for experiments. As a result of the experiment, the neural network with more than 99.6% of explanatory power showed the best performance in prediction and classification. The practical contribution of the proposed study is that it suggests a method to collect data required for analysis from the robot without attaching additional sensors to the collaborative robot and the usefulness of a machine learning algorithm for diagnosing robot overload and working load.

A Study on the Cooperative Library Service Network for the Disabled Persons in Korea (도서관 장애인서비스 협력망 연구)

  • There are more than 2 million blind and partially disabled people in Korea. They need access to books and information for all the same reasons as non-disabled persons: for lifelong learning, for social activity, for leisure, and to play a full part in society. In considering these realities, this paper has suggested the various strategies and plans to build and operate a cooperative library service network for the disabled persons. In addition, author commented on the subsequent actions for implementing the cooperative service model.

  • This paper has done a study of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design education. Sino-Korean school of multimedia was set up by Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) and Korea Dongseo University in October 2002. We have created "3.5+0.5 Teaching Model". In this model, Chinese and Korea professors take courses together. Firstly, paper points our the Chinese government policy background of Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in running schools and the development of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design education in SUES. Secondly, by analyzing the multimedia design industry to understand the Chinese multi-media design education. Thirdly, paper made in-depth studies for "3.5+0.5 Teaching Model" so as to draw the experience of successes and problems. Through analysis of "Questionnaires for students' learning and living conditions in Dongseo University in 2009" by spss 16.0, paper made a research of mode of "A semester studying in Korea". Finally, paper points out the development direction of Chinese-Korean cooperative multimedia design.

A Study on Development of Experience Education Model Based on GI Cooperative Learning in the Presidential Archives (집단탐구(GI) 협동학습 모형을 활용한 대통령 기록관 체험학습 프로그램 개발)

  • The Presidential Archives is a research institute that manages presidents' historical records and archives. It provides various education programs based on the presidential records and archives for teachers and students. The Ministry of Education introduced free-learning semester and has conducted test trials in 42 schools since 2013. All of the middle schools will conduct the free-learning semester from 2016. The $7^{th}$ educational curriculum includes creative experience activities. The Ministry of Education recommended that schools should cooperate with local public organizations for experience activities. But, It is difficult to cooperate with each other. This study proposed the experience education programs using the presidential records and archives for social studies education curriculum in order to do the meaningful education in the class of the creative experience activities. To do it, this study analyzes current situation, deducts the problems caused in domestic and foreign Archives experience education program, and adopts the cooperative learning models and components suited to experience activities.

The Effect of Grouping by Students' Agreeableness in Cooperative Learning (협동학습에서 학생의 유화성에 따른 집단 구성의 효과)

  • In this study. the effects of grouping by students' agreeableness in cooperative learning strategy applied to middle school science classes on their achievement. confidence, satisfaction, attitude toward science class, and cohesion of group members were investigated. One hundred and fifty-eight students were assigned to control group, homogeneous group and heterogeneous group, and taught about separation of mixture for 7 class hours. The results revealed that there was no significant difference in the achievement test scores. However, significant interaction between the instruction and the level of agreeableness were found in the satisfaction and the cohesion of group members. Students of higher agreeableness level in the homogeneous group were more satisfied with science class and cohesive. Students' attitude toward science class in the homogeneous group was also significantly higher than those in the other groups.

Development and Application of Teaching and Learning Materials for Gifted Students in Elementary School (초등수학영재를 위한 교수학습 자료 개발 및 적용)

  • This study analyzes the characteristics of elementary math gifted classes through the development and application of teaching and learning materials. We used the guided reinvention methods including quasi-experiential perspectives. To this end, the applicability of Lakatos' quasi-empirical mathematical philosophy in elementary mathematics was examined, and the criteria for the development of teaching and learning materials for gifted students were presented, and then this study was conducted in this theoretical background. The subjects of the study were 21 elementary students at P University's Institute of Science and Gifted Education, and non-face-to-face real-time classes were conducted. Classes were divided into introduction, deployment1, deployment2, organization stages, and in each stage, small group cooperative learning was conducted based on group activities, and in this process, the characteristics of elementary mathematics gifted were analyzed. As a result of the study, elementary mathematics gifted students did not clearly present the essence of justification in the addition algorithm of fractions, but presented various interpretations of 'wrong' mathematics. They also showed their ingenuity in the process of spontaneously developing 'wrong' mathematics. On the other hand, by taking interest in new mathematics starting from 'wrong' mathematics, negative perceptions about it could be improved positively. It is expected that the development of teaching and learning materials dealing with various and original topics for the gifted students in elementary school will proceed through follow-up research.
