엔드밀에 의한 원통 가공시 절삭조건에 따른 진원도의 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the roundness effect for the cutting conditions in a cylinder cutting by end mill)

  • In this study the effect of roundness error with respect to the cutting conditions using the external cylindrical work piece by end mill cutting in a machining center was studied. the end mill used in this study is HSS coated with Ti-N which is of Ø 12-4 flutes. The material of workpiece is SM20C and cutting oil is used as a cooling flued The cutting experiments were carried out for the several cutting conditions(depth of cut height of end mill feed rate revolution per minute and cutting direction) and their roundness effects were compared using the least squares circle measuring method. The experimental results are summarized as follows : 1) The cutting depth is dominant for the roundness of a cylindrical work piece and the cutting speed must be determined precisely when the cutting depth is large 2) When the cutting direction in circular manufacturing is the same with the spindle rotation i.e up-cutting condition the surface roundness is also improved.

수직형 건식 진공 스크류 펌프의 열특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Characteristics of Dry Vacuum Pump with Vertical Screws)

  • In this study, analysis and experiments were carried out on temperature distributions and thermal deformations in a dry vacuum pump with vertical screws for safe operation. When a vacuum pump is working, it is necessary to get rid of the heat generated by the friction of bearings and the compression of air to prevent the vacuum pump from being damaged by interference between two screws and housing through thermal deformation. Additional cooling was proposed by using oil flow through the inner channel of the rotating axis for lower temperature control of the vacuum pump. Analysis and experimental results were compared in terms of temperature distribution and thermal deformation of the vacuum pump, and two sets of results matched reasonably well. These results for a dry vacuum pump with vertical screws can be used in similar model development and can minimize errors in design and manufacture by providing reasonably accurate prediction in advance.

  • HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) Transformer has the several useful characteristics in the viewpoints of technical and economical. Especially, an HTS transformer replaces the copper wire coils in a conventional transformer with lower loss HTS wire. In addition, inexpensive, environmentally benign liquid nitrogen replaces the conventional oil as the electrical insulation (dielectric) and provides the necessary cooling for the HTS transformer Therefore, the Life-cycle cost of an HTS transformer is much more attractive than conventional because it is more energy efficient, lighter in weight, smaller in size, and environmentally compliant. HTS transformer can be the best way to replace with conventional transformer in the future. In these days, companies world-wide have conducted researches on HTS transformer. A development project for a 154kV HTS transformer is proceeding at a research center and university in Korea. In this paper, we investigate the expected price of HTS transformer to have a merit in viewpoint of economic aspect. First, life-cycle cost of conventional transformer is calculated and based on this, the expected price of HTS transformer is evaluated. which HTS transformer is competitive against conventional transformer.

  • The objective of the experiment is to investigate the effect of microstructures of gray cast iron oil wear characteristics of automotive disc brakes. Six different gray cast iron rotors were manufactured by changing carbon equivalent and cooling rate. The change of DTV (disc thickness variation) before and after wear tests was measured to examine the wear properties according to the microstructures of gray iron discs since the DTV generation is caused by the circumferential uneven wear. Experimental results showed that the morphology of graphite flake and hardness in gray cast iron were crucially associated with the change of DTV. In particular, the DTV changes of rotor decrease when the length and area fraction of graphite flake in brake rotors increase and hardness of brake discs reduces.

  • This study investigates the friction of the roll stands in the high performance multi- holes slate fin machine which pin is using in heat transfer of radiator, oil cooler, inter cooler, condenser and evaporator. The roll stand part is very important to maintain the high performance fin machine. This multi-holes form roll type is the first time in our country so it will be helpful to increases the export and product of heat transfer. It was include the technical of form rolling system which was self development. Then it will be improve the electric home appliances, future motor vehicle device and industrial machine.

  • For the last half a century, Korea has been experienced rapid economic growth and industrialization development, however they cause serious problems that environment pollution and energy shortage are appeared, and the biggest problem that we are now confronted are required solutions through all over the world. Now, Korea's energy consumption is the 10th in the whole world. Among them, energy for buildings, about 25% in the whole Energy which spend in Korea, is very serious. Especially, the energy consumption of school buildings which have heating & cooling system according to improvements of educational environment are rapidly increasing. These features are explicit in the University, Because it has lots of colleges and facilities for lecture, experiment, and research. Especially, electric power consumption account for 75 percent of energy consumption in educational institutions. Accordingly, it is important to understand and analyze the pattern of electricity energy consumption which is used. This study attempts to appoint the place which is one of university and to investigate the characteristics of energy consumption like electricity, gas, oil.

  • Superduplex stainless steels are important materials to the oil and gas industry, especially for off-shore production. TIG welding of super duplex stainless steels to obtain the optimal phase balance between austenite and ferrite is mainly achieved by controlling the cooling rate and the weld chemistry. The latter depends on the filler wire chosen and the shielding gas used. If TIG welding of superduplex stainless steels is performed with argon shielding gas only, then nitrogen gets lost from the weld pool, which can result in a ferrite-rich weld metal, with an inferior corrosion resistance than parent metal. In the present study, nitrogen permeation model from the shield gas which gets into the weld metal in DCEN-TIG welding has suggested. This plasma stream model shows characteristics of permeation of nitrogen ions into the molten metal due to the strong physical effect of plasma stream which formed by the arc pressure rather than the permeation of nitrogen ions caused by electric effect.

  • The mechanical and thermal load. and thermal softening which is happened by the high temperature of die, in hot and warm forging, cause wear. heat checking and plastic deformation, etc. This study is for the effects of solid lubricants and surface treatments for warm forging die Because cooling effect and low friction are essential to the long lift of dies. optimal surface treatments and lubricants are very important to hot and warm forging Process. The heat that is generated by repeated forging processes. and its transfer are important factors to affect die life. The main factors, which affect die hardness and heat transfer, are surface treatments and lubricants, which are related to thermal diffusion coefficient and heat transfer coefficient, etc. For verifying these. experiments art performed for diffusion coefficient and heat transfer coefficient in various conditions - different initial billet temperatures and different loads. Carbonitriding and ionitriding are used as surface treatments. and oil- base and water-base graphite lubrirants are used. The effects of lubricant and surface treatment for warm forging die lift are explained by their thermal characteristics.

  • Oil and gas fields were left unexploited which deemed too deep and sour. New developing markets are emerging in this part and pipe manufacturers need demanding requirements in the combination of sour service requirements with heavier wall thickness required to cope with increasing water depths. Whilst, the strength and fracture toughness needed to meet the strict requirements In order to deliver the optimum sour properties in the final pipe, attention needs to be paid to each stage throughout the process from steel making. The main key during steel making is strengthening, securing mechanical properties and suppression of center segregation by adding proper chemical elements and controlling water cooling and plate rolling. Additionally in welding, it is required to prevent HAZ softening by high heat input during welding of heavy thick pipes and hydrogen assisted cracking in high strength steels with hard phases. In this paper, we introduce markets of sour resistant linepipe steels and in response to this, have a look in the development trend of sour resistant linepipe steels and its sour characteristics in welded joints.

  • The mold transformers have been widely used in underground substations in large building and have some advantages in comparison to oil-transformer, that is low fire risk, excellent environmental compatibility, compact size and high reliability. In addition, the application of mold transformer for outdoor is possible due to development of epoxy resin. The mold transformer generally has cooling duct between low voltage coil and high voltage coil. A mold transformer made by one body molding method has been developed for small size and low loss. The life of transformer is significantly dependent on the thermal behavior in windings. To analyse winding temperature rise, many transformer designer have calculated temperature distribution and hot spot point by finite element method(FEM). Recently, numerical analyses of transformer are studied for optimum design, that is electric field analysis, magnetic field, potential vibration, thermal distribution and thermal stress. In this paper, the temperature distribution of 50 kVA pole mold transformer for power distribution are investigated by FEM program and the temperature rise test of designed mold transformer carried out and test result is analyzed compare to simulation data. In this result, the designed mold transformer is satisfied to limit value of temperature and the other property is good such as voltage ratio, winding resistance, no-load loss, load loss, impedance voltage and percent regulation.
