A typical algorithm used for image analysis is the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN). R-CNN, Fast R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, etc. have been studied to improve the performance of the CNN, but they essentially require large amounts of data and high algorithmic complexity., making them inappropriate for small and medium-sized services. Therefore, in this paper, the image label prediction algorithm based on CNN with collaborative layer with low complexity, high accuracy, and small amount of data was proposed. The proposed algorithm was designed to replace the part of the neural network that is performed to predict the final label in the existing deep learning algorithm by implementing collaborative filtering as a layer. It is expected that the proposed algorithm can contribute greatly to small and medium-sized content services that is unsuitable to apply the existing deep learning algorithm with high complexity and high server cost.
Convolution neural networks (CNNs) show notable performance in image processing and are used as representative core models. CNNs extract and learn features from large amounts of train dataset. In general, it has a structure in which a convolution layer and a fully connected layer are stacked. The core of CNN is the convolution layer. The size of the kernel used for feature extraction and the number that affect the depth of the feature map determine the amount of weight parameters of the CNN that can be learned. These parameters are the main causes of increasing the computational complexity and memory usage of the entire neural network. The most computationally expensive components in CNNs are fully connected and spatial convolution computations. In this paper, we propose a Fourier Convolution Neural Network that performs the operation of the convolution layer in the Fourier domain. We work on modifying and improving the amount of computation by applying the fast fourier transform method. Using the MNIST dataset, the performance was similar to that of the general CNN in terms of accuracy. In terms of operation speed, 7.2% faster operation speed was achieved. An average of 19% faster speed was achieved in experiments using 1024x1024 images and various sizes of kernels.

Food basically must have nutrition and safety. Recently, a number of symptoms of food poisoning occurred in a kindergarten in Ansan, where food safety was suspected. Therefore, the safety of food is more demanding. In this paper, we propose a method to inprove the detector to secure food safety. The proposed method is to learn through the network of convolution neural network (CNN) and Faster region-CNN (Faster R-CNN) and test the images of normal and foreign products. As a result of testing through a deep learning model, the method that used Faster R-CNN in parallel with the existing foreign body detector algorithm showed better detection rate than other methods.

Recently, deep learning using convolutional neural network (CNN) has been extensively studied in image recognition. Convolution consists of addition and multiplication. Multiplication is computationally expensive in hardware implementation, relative to addition. It is also important factor limiting a chip design in an embedded deep learning system. In this paper, I propose a parallel-addition processing algorithm that converts grayscale images to the superposition of binary images and performs convolution only with addition. It is confirmed that the convolution can be performed by a parallel-addition method capable of reducing the processing time in experiment for verifying the availability of proposed algorithm.
In this manuscript, a new pansharpening model based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) was developed. Dilated convolution, which is one of the representative convolution technologies in CNN, was applied to the model by making it deep and complex to improve the performance of the deep learning architecture. Based on the dilated convolution, the residual network is used to enhance the efficiency of training process. In addition, we consider the spatial correlation coefficient in the loss function with traditional L1 norm. We experimented with Dilated Residual Networks (DRNet), which is applied to the structure using only a panchromatic (PAN) image and using both a PAN and multispectral (MS) image. In the experiments using KOMPSAT-3A, DRNet using both a PAN and MS image tended to overfit the spectral characteristics, and DRNet using only a PAN image showed a spatial resolution improvement over existing CNN-based models.
CNN (Convolution Neural Network) is one of the most important techniques to identify the kind of objects in the captured pictures. Whereas the conventional models have been used for low resolution images, the technique to recognize the high resolution images becomes crucial in the field of artificial intelligence. In this paper, we proposed an efficient CNN model based on dilated convolution and thresholding techniques to increase the recognition ratio and to decrease the computational complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional method and the thresholding technique enhances the performance of the proposed model.
One widely used algorithm for image recognition and pattern detection is the convolution neural network (CNN). To efficiently handle convolution operations, which account for the majority of computations in the CNN, we use hardware accelerators to improve the performance of CNN applications. In using these hardware accelerators, the CNN fetches data from the off-chip DRAM, as the massive computational volume of data makes it difficult to derive performance improvements only from memory inside the hardware accelerator. In other words, data communication between off-chip DRAM and memory inside the accelerator has a significant impact on the performance of CNN applications. In this paper, a simulator for the CNN is developed to analyze the main memory or DRAM access with respect to the size of the on-chip memory or global buffer inside the CNN accelerator. For AlexNet, one of the CNN architectures, when simulated with increasing the size of the global buffer, we found that the global buffer of size larger than 100kB has 0.8x as low a DRAM access count as the global buffer of size smaller than 100kB.

Image morphing methods make seamless transition changes in the image and mask the meaningful information attached to it. This can be detected by traditional machine learning algorithms and new emerging deep learning algorithms. In this research work, scope of different Hybrid learning approaches having combination of Deep learning and Machine learning are being analyzed with the public dataset CASIA V1.0, CASIA V2.0 and DVMM to find the most efficient algorithm. The simulated results with CNN (Convolution Neural Network), Hybrid approach of CNN along with SVM (Support Vector Machine) and Hybrid approach of CNN along with Random Forest algorithm produced 96.92 %, 95.98 and 99.18 % accuracy respectively with the CASIA V2.0 dataset having 9555 images. The accuracy pattern of applied algorithms changes with CASIA V1.0 data and DVMM data having 1721 and 1845 set of images presenting minimal accuracy with Hybrid approach of CNN and Random Forest algorithm. It is confirmed that the choice of best algorithm to find image forgery depends on input data type. This paper presents the combination of best suited algorithm to detect image morphing with different input datasets.
In this paper, we propose a method to detect concept drift by applying Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) in a data stream environment. Since the conventional method compares only the final output value of the CNN and detects it as a concept drift if there is a difference, there is a problem in that the actual input value of the data stream reacts sensitively even if there is no significant difference and is incorrectly detected as a concept drift. Therefore, in this paper, in order to reduce such errors, not only the output value of CNN but also the probability vector are used. First, the data entered into the data stream is patterned to learn from the neural network model, and the difference between the output value and probability vector of the current data and the historical data of these learned neural network models is compared to detect the concept drift. The proposed method confirmed that only CNN output values could be used to reduce detection errors compared to how concept drift were detected.

In this paper, we have studied how to search an underwater object by learning the image generated by the side scan sonar in the convolution neural network. In the method of human side analysis of the side scan image or the image, the convolution neural network algorithm can enhance the efficiency of the analysis. The image data of the side scan sonar used in the experiment is the public data of NSWC (Naval Surface Warfare Center) and consists of four kinds of synthetic underwater objects. The convolutional neural network algorithm is based on Faster R-CNN (Region based Convolutional Neural Networks) learning based on region of interest and the details of the neural network are self-organized to fit the data we have. The results of the study were compared with a precision-recall curve, and we investigated the applicability of underwater object detection in convolution neural networks by examining the effect of change of region of interest assigned to sonar image data on detection performance.
