  • In this paper, using diversity and convolution code in the DS/CDMA system, have been the performance analized. In this modulation shceme is using QPSK. Channel to CDMA system has been approximated by Rayleight fading channel considering effect for multi-path. In this assumed that receiver is WTDL(Wide-band Tappped Delay Line) receiver, and in this condition, average error probability of DS/CDMA.

A Implementation of Simple Convolution Decoder Using a Temporal Neural Networks

  • Conventional multilayer feedforward artificial neural networks are very effective in dealing with spatial problems. To deal with problems with time dependency, some kinds of memory have to be built in the processing algorithm. In this paper we show how the newly proposed Serial Input Neuron (SIN) convolutional decoders can be derived. As an example, we derive the SIN decoder for rate code with constraint length 3. The SIN is tested in Gaussian channel and the results are compared to the results of the optimal Viterbi decoder. A SIN approach to decode convolutional codes is presented. No supervision is required. The decoder lends itself to pleasing implementations in hardware and processing codes with high speed in a time. However, the speed of the current circuits may set limits to the codes used. With increasing speeds of the circuits in the future, the proposed technique may become a tempting choice for decoding convolutional coding with long constraint lengths.

  • 1967년 Andrew J. Viterbi에 의해 처음 제안된 Viterbi 알고리즘은 길쌈부호(convolution code)의 대표적인 복호방법으로 현재 통신 기술 중에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 것 중에 하나이다. Viterbi decoder는 사용되는 시스템의 사양에 따라 에러 수정 능력이 다른데 통신 channel 상의 오류뿐만 아니라 Viterbi decoder내부에 있는 메모리에서 발생하는 오류도 Viterbi decoder의 에러 수정 능력에 영향을 준다. 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 많이 확인되었던 channel상의 오류와 함께 Viterbi decoder내부에 있는 메모리에서 오류가 발생했을 때 복.부호기의 사양에 따른 에러정정능력을 분석하였다.

Performance of the Asymmetric Turbo Codes for Wireless ATM Transmission (비대칭 터보 코드를 이용한 무선 ATM셀 전송의 성능 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 비대칭 터보부호를 사용 무선 ATM환경에서 ATM셀을 전송할 때 비트 오류확률, 셀 손실확률을 대칭 터보부호와 비교하였다. 일반적으로 터보부호기는 동일한 재귀 컨벌루션코드(Resursive Systematic Convolution Code)로 구성된다. 비대칭 터보부호와 대칭적 터보부호를 비교하기 위한 생성다항식을 Primitive Polynomial과 Non-Primitive Polynomial 의 4가지 조합을 고려하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. Feedback 다항식이 Primitive 다항식인 사용된 터보부호기가 Non-Primitive다항식이 사용된 터보부호기와 비교하여 1.2dB이상 성능 향상을 보였고, Primitive Polynomial과 Non-Primitive Polynomial이 같이 사용된 비대칭 터보부호기는 Non-Primitive Polynomial이 사용된 대칭 터보부호기와 비교하여 0.7dB 성능 향상을 보였다.

Performance Analysis of Multimedia CDMA Network with Concatenated Coding and RAKE Receiver

  • In order to transmit various types of multimedia data (i.e. voice, video, and data) over a wireless channel, the coding and modulation scheme needs to be flexible and capable of providing a variable quality of service, data rates, and latency. In this paper, we study a mobile multimedia COMA network combined with the concatenated Reed-Solomon/Rate Compatible Punctured Convolution code (RS/RCPC). Also, this paper propose the combination of concatenated RS/RCPC coder and COMA RAKE receiver for multimedia COMA traffic which can be sent over wireless channels. From the results, using a frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel model, it is shown that concatenated RS/RCPC coder at the wireless physical layer can be effective in providing reliable wireless multimedia CDMA network. And the proposed scheme that combine concatenated RS/RCPC coder and CDMA RAKE receiver provides a significant gain in the BER performance over multi-user interference and multipath frequency selective fading channels.

  • For a long time, CAPTCHA Recognition has been a major challenge in the field of artificial intelligence. Although there are many related technologies that can solve this identification problem, further breakthroughs are still needed. Based on the existing SSD network, this paper adds a non-block module. Compared with the original SSD network, the recognition rate of SSD + Non-local is improved from 86.12% to 88.47%.In addition, it is worth noting that the recognized character verification code consists of Arabic numerals, uppercase and lowercase English letters.

  • This paper aims to propose a novel technology of network convergence to provide ultra high speed internet services over CATV networks, by which a CMC(cable modem concentrator) and CM(cable modem) of 1Gbps level are designed. This technology not only lowers the production cost in comparison to the existing bonding technology with DOCSIS specification but also enables the adjustment of data speed based on the channel bandwidth. According to the experiments, when convolutional code rate with 128QAM is changed to 1/2, 2/3, 3/4 and 7/8, the data recorded the maximum transmission speed of up to 299 Mbps at the zero error rate. As the convolutional code rates with 256QAM is increased, it showed 334Mbps at the error rate of $10^{-5}$. Based on the findings of this paper, if we secure the channel bandwidth of 200MHz and adjust the modulation order of QAM and the convolution code rate depending on the channel status, we can get the transmission speed of more than 1Gbps, which is much more competitive in its function and price than the existing technology based on DOCSIS.

  • In this paper, we propose the trellis coded spread spectrum communication system with one channel signal selection of the subset by the PN code. This paper proposes the Viterbi decoder that have the squared Euclidean distance of the order phase difference as well as 1st order phase difference as the branch metrics by using the multiple symbol detection method. TCM method was developed to overcome limited power and bandwidth efficiently in digital communication. we multiply one of convolution code's output data to PN code for applying TCM to the spread spectrum. We investigated the performance of the direct sequence/spread spectrum communication system with trellis coded modulation. In this system, we could improved the coding gain in the spread spectrum.

  • Turbo codes are selected as FEC(Forward error correction) codes with convolution code in 3GFP(3rd generation partnership project) and 3GPP2 standard of IMT2000. Especially, l/3 turbo code with K=4 is employed for 3GPP standard. In this paper, we proposed a hardware structure of a turbo decoder and denveloped the decoder for 3GPP standard turbo code. For its efficient operation, we design a SOVA decoder by employing a register exchange decoding block and new path metric normalization block as a SISO constituent decoder. In addition, we estimate its performance under MATLAB 6.0 and designed the turbo decoder including control block, input control buffer, SOVA constituent decoder with VHDL. Finally, we synthesized the developed turbo decoder under Synopsys FPGA Express and verified it with ALTERA EPF200SRC240-3 FPGA device.

  • In this paper, signal processing techniques for noncoherent impulse-radio-based UWB (IR-UWB) communication system are proposed to provide system implementation of low power consumption and low complexity. The proposed system adopts a simple modulation technique of OOK (on-oft-keying) and noncoherent signal detection based on signal amplitude. In particular, a technique of a novel high speed digital sampler using a stable, lower reference clock is developed to detect nano-second pulses and recover digital signals from the pulses. Also, a 32 bits Turyn code for data frame synchronization and a convolution code as FEC are applied, respectively. To verify the proposed signal processing techniques for low power, low complexity noncoherent IR-UWB system, the proposed signal processing technique is implemented in FPGA and then a short-range communication system for wireless transmission of high quality MP3 data is designed and tested.
