Design of The Smart Conveyer Belt Control Mechanism using Arduino (아두이노를 활용한 스마트 컨베이어 벨트 제어 메카니즘 설계)

  • They produces the products using conveyer belts in many factories. However, so many accidents are occurred in the conveyer belts at the factories. It needs to prevent the any kinds of accidents in the conveyer belts. In this paper, we designed the smart conveyer belt and developed the smart conveyer control mechanism that provides more safe operation. Particularly, We proposed the methodologies to control conveyer belt using smart phone to prevent the accidents. Through this study, we expect the smart conveyer will be adapt to not only factories but also various kind of conveyer such as escalator in the subway.

  • In the automobile and machine industry, Forming type conveyer system have problems in that hinge belt plate are stretched, produce a noise and get abrasion. they make the machine get out of order. we make hinge belt thicker for reducing the trouble. Thick hinge belt was stronger. But it was heavier. And it was hard to come up with buyer's expectations because the mold which makes the hinge belt have limit of strength, life cycle and size. So, we developed the machine welded each part of hinge belt plate.

  • This paper presents development of a different substance monitoring system base reliable detection between the conveyer belt and hopper used for materials transport line of steel company. Conventional detection method of a piece of iron separation system is losed the confidence, because of the place with bad surroundings of measurement so much that materials production line are completely exposed to dust, moisture and vibration. For the solution of this problem, we developed a different substance detection system using the acoustic emittion sensor and one chip microprocessor which is available for bad surroundings and inexpensive. The reliability of the system was estimated by experiment.

  • In this paper, the research is to develop a system that can detect the breakage of the rubber belt conveyor system in the transport of the raw materials required for the operation of logistics. We are to develop a system that can detect the breakage of the belt due to the electronic system of belt breakage occurs by placing the material on the inside of the belt, electric induction to minimize the damage of the belt. The belt repair costs, or reorder the steps of the logistics transit time can be reduced. Induced in the coil, and belt embedded in the transmitted signal as a way to detect the breakage of the belt was to detect the damage of the belt by detecting the electrical phenomena induced in the coil at the receiving end.

  • At an integrated steel mill, various raw material such as coal and iron ore are unloaded from a large ship. The unloaded raw material is then transported to storage yards through a complex belt conveyer network. We propose an optimization model for scheduling the unloading operations under the limitations of available berths, unloading equipments and transportation capacity of the belt conveyer network. We show that the problem is NP-Hard and propose a heuristic approach to the problem.

  • The process of automation and monitoring in industrial control system involves the use of many types of sensors. A programmable logic controller plays an important role in the automation of the different processes in the power plant system. The major control units are boiler for temperature and pressure, turbine for speed of motor, generator for voltage, conveyer belt for fuel. The power plant units are controlled using microcontrollers and PLCs, but FPGA can be the feasible solution. The paper focused on the design and simulation of hardware chip to monitor boiler, turbine, generator and conveyer belt. The hardware chip of the plant is designed in Xilinx Vivado Simulator 17.4 software using VHDL programming. The methodology includes VHDL code design, simulation, verification and testing on Virtex-5 FPGA hardware. The system has four independent buzzers used to indicate the status of the boiler, generator, turbine motor and conveyer belt in on/off conditions respectively. The GSM is used to display corresponding message on the mobile to know the status of the device in on/off condition. The system is very much helpful for the industries working on plant automation with FPGA hardware integration.

  • Belt-conveyer driving systems, which transport coal stored in the yard of a coal-fired fossil power plant to coal silos, experienced severe vibrations. From measurement, it was found that the vibrations showed beating phenomenoa and arose from hydraulic couplings installed between motors and gear boxes. In the present paper, described are results of case studies on vibration troubleshooting for the belt-conveyor driving systems: 1)resonance of the system; 2)field balancing.

Studies on Mechanization of Yukwa Making (유과 제조의 기계화 연구)

  • Whipping and bandaekee making process were known to a bottle neck for yukwa(deep-fat fried waxy rice snack) making process. For mechanization of the process, a machine was designed and manufactured with conveyer. Some functions of the machine were compared. The continuous whipping and bandaekee making machine was developed by modification of chopper. The chopper was substituted with specially designed plates and die. The newly designed plates were suitable for continuous whipping of dough and making bandaekee without showing any quality different at the final stage. The width and thickness of bandaekee could be controlled by speed of conveyer. The proper conveyer speed was 87.3 mm/sec when amount of extrudate of dough was 221.8 g/sec (MW 51%) from chopper. A shape of knife and plate among components of chopper was not seriously influenced on whipping effect. Expectable thickness of bandaekee for good quality was $3.0{\sim}3.5\;mm$. The number of passing through the chopper was not effected on yukwa quality·but no whipping showed bulky volume with too soft texture.
