SiC conversion layer was fabricated by the chemical vapor reaction between graphite substrate and silica powder. The CVR process was carried out in nitrogen atmosphere at 175$0^{\circ}C$ and 185$0^{\circ}C$. From the reduction of silica powder with graphite substrate, the SiO vapor was created, infiltrated into the graphite substrate, then, the SiC conversion layer was formed from the vapor-solid reaction of SiO and graphite. In the XRD pattern of conversion layer, it was confirmed that 3C $\beta$-SiC phase was created at 175$0^{\circ}C$ and 185$0^{\circ}C$. Also, in the back scattered image of cross-sectional conversion layer, it was found that the conversion layer was easily formed at 185$0^{\circ}C$, the interface of graphite substrate and SiC layer was observed. It was though that the coke particle size and density of graphite substrate mainly affect the XRD pattern and microstructure of SiC conversion layer. In the oxidation test of 100$0^{\circ}C$, the SiC converted graphites exhibited good oxidation resistance compared with the unconverted graphites.

Color conversion layer refers to a layer that converts the blue light emitted from the backlight into the red and green light. Heavy metal-free quantum dots and perovskite nanocrystals have attracted great attention as base materials for color conversion layers due to their outstanding optical characteristics. Here, we review recent advances in the development of color conversion layers based on quantum dots. First, we overview the representative optical characteristics of quantum dots and perovskite nanocrystals, and then introduce printing techniques for color converting layers including photolithography, inkjet printing, and nanoimprinting. Finally, we conclude this review with a brief perspective.

This review deals with one of the surface modification techniques, chemical conversion coating and particularly cerium-based conversion coatings (CeCC) as a promising substitute for chromium and phosphate conversion coating on magnesium and its alloys. The CeCCs are commonly considered environmentally friendly. The effects of surface preparation, coating thickness, bath composition, and e-paint on the corrosion behavior of CeCCs have been studied on the AZ31 magnesium alloy. This review also correlates the coating microstructural, morphological, and chemical characteristics with the processing parameters and corrosion protection. Results showed that the as-deposited coating system consists of a three layer structure (1) a nanocrystalline MgO transition layer in contact with the Mg substrate, (2) a nanocrystalline CeCC layer, and (3) an outer amorphous CeCC layer. The nanocrystalline CeCC layer thickness is a function of immersion time and cerium salt used. The overall corrosion protection was crucially dependent on the presence of coating defects. The corrosion resistance of AZ31 magnesium alloy was better for thinner CeCCs, which can be explained by the presence of fewer and smaller cracks. On the other hand, maximum corrosion protection was achieved when AZ31 magnesium samples with thin CeCCs are e-painted. The e-paint layer further restricts and hinders the movement of chloride and other aggressive ions present in the environment from reaching the magnesium surface.

The fabricated photovoltaic cells based on PIN heterojunctions, in this study, have a structure of ITO/poly(3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)/donor/donor:C60(10nm)/C60(35nm)/2, 9-dimethyl-4, 7-diphenyl-1, 10-phenanthroline(8nm)/Al(100nm). The thicknesses of an active layer(donor:C60), an electron transport layer(C60), and hole/exciton blocking layer(BCP) were fixed in the organic photovoltaic cells. We investigated the performance characteristics of the PIN organic photovoltaic cells with copper phthalocyanine(CuPc), tetracene and pentacene as a hole transport layer. Discussion on the photovoltaic cells with CuPc, tetracene and pentacene as a hole transport layer is focussed on the dependency of the power conversion efficiency on the deposition rate and thickness of hole transport layer. The device performance characteristics are elucidated from open-circuit-voltage(Voc), short-circuit-current(Jsc), fill factor(FF), and power conversion efficiency($\eta$). As the deposition rate of donor is reduced, the power conversion efficiency is enhanced by increased short-circuit-current(Jsc). The CuPc-based PIN photovoltaic cell has the limited dependency of power conversion efficiency on the thickness of hole transport layer because of relatively short exciton diffusion length. The photovoltaic cell using tetracene as a hole transport layer, which has relatively long diffusion length, has low efficiency. The maximum power conversion efficiencies of CuPc, tetracene, and pentacene-based photovoltaic cells with optimized deposition rate and thickness of hole transport layer have been achieved to 1.63%, 1.33% and 2.15%, respectively. The photovoltaic cell using pentacene as a hole transport layer showed the highest efficiency because of dramatically enhanced Jsc due to long diffusion length and strong thickness dependence.
In this paper, we propose a 3D conversion algorithm of 2D video using depth layer partition method. In the proposed algorithm, we first set frame groups using cut detection algorithm. Each divided frame groups will reduce the possibility of error propagation in the process of motion estimation. Depth image generation is the core technique in 2D/3D conversion algorithm. Therefore, we use two depth map generation algorithms. In the first, segmentation and motion information are used, and in the other, edge directional histogram is used. After applying depth layer partition algorithm which separates objects(foreground) and the background from the original image, the extracted two depth maps are properly merged. Through experiments, we verify that the proposed algorithm generates reliable depth map and good conversion results.

Magnesium alloy is limited in the industrial field because its standard electrode potential is -2.363 V vs. NHE (Normal Hydrogen Electrode) at 25 ℃. This high electrochemical activity causes magnesium to quickly corrode with oxygen in air; chemical conversion coating prevents corrosion but causes surface defects like cracks and pores. We have examined the anti-corrosion effect of sol-gel coating sealed on the defected conversion coating layer. Sol-gel coatings produced higher voltage current and smaller pore than the chemical conversion coating layer. The conversion coating on magnesium alloy AZ31 was prepared using phosphate-permanganate solution. The sol-gel coating was designed using trimethoxymethylsilane (MTMS) and (3-Glycidyloxypropyl) trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) as precursors, and aluminum acetylacetonate as a ring-opening agent. The thermal shock resistance was tested by exposing specimens at 140 ℃ in a convection oven; the results showed changes in the magnesium alloy AZ31 surface, such as oxidization and cracking. Scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) analysis confirmed a sealed sol-gel coating layer on magnesium alloy AZ31. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measured the differences in corrosion protection properties by sol-gel and conversion coatings in 0.35 wt% NaCl solution, and the potentiodynamic polarization test and confirmed conversion coating with the sol-gel coating show significantly improved resistance by crack sealing.

Molybdate chemical conversion coating layer formed on EGI has been studied in view of corrosion resistance, surface morphologies, and phases formed. It was found that coating layer consists of$ MoO_3$, $MoO_2$, Mo oxides having lower valences than 4 and ZnO. It is interesting to note that the coating layer formed at high Mo concentration (30 g/l) in the temperature range of $40-60^{\circ}C$ exhibited relatively high corrosion resistance, although thickness of coating layer is nearly identical with those formed under the other conditions. It was believed that an increase of driving force due to high Mo concentration plays an important role in the formation of corrosion-resistant coating layer, probably due to tile formation of dense coating layer.

Optical properties of white organic light-emitting devices (WOLEDs) fabricated utilizing a phosphor layer acting as a color conversion layer were investigated. The WOLEDs were achieved due to the enhancement in the color conversion efficiency of the phosphor layer, and the chromaticity coordinates of WOLEDs were (0.29, 0.33).
The MEA with the catalyst layer containing PtRu black and 60 wt. %Pt/C as their anode and cathode catalysts. For find to effect of carbon support, the MEA with platinum black for cathode catalyst was fabricated. The performance of the MEA with the catalyst layer containing (PtRu black:60 wt.% Pt/C) as their anode and cathode catalyst has shown competitively higher value than the performance of the MEA with the catalyst layer containing (PtRu black:Pt black) as their anode and cathode catalyst.
We prepared dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with enhanced energy conversion efficiency using open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays with a $TiO_2$ scattering layer. As compared to closed-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays, the energy conversion efficiency of the open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays was increased from 5.63% to 5.92%, which is an enhancement of 5.15%. With the $TiO_2$ scattering layer, the energy conversion efficiency was increased from 5.92% to 6.53%, which is an enhancement of 10.30%. After treating the open-ended $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays with $TiCl_4$, the energy conversion efficiency was increased from 6.53% to 6.89%, a 5.51% enhancement, which is attributed to improved light harvesting and increased dye adsorption.
