In thin film silicon solar cells, p-i-n structure is adopted instead of p/n junction structure as in wafer-based Si solar cells. PECVD is the most widely used thin film deposition process for a-Si:H or ${\mu}c$-Si:H solar cells. Single-chamber PECVD system for a-Si:H solar cell manufacturing has the advantage of lower initial investment and maintenance cost for the equipment. However, in single-chamber PECVD system, doped and intrinsic layers are deposited in one plasma chamber, which inevitably impedes sharp dopant profiles at the interfaces due to the contamination from previous deposition process. The cross-contamination between layers is a serious drawback of single-chamber PECVD system. In this study, a new plasma process to solve the cross-contamination problem in a single-chamber PECVD system was suggested. In order to remove the deposited B inside of the plasma chamber during p-layer deposition, a high RF power was applied right after p-layer deposition with SiH4 gas off, which is then followed by i-layer, n-layer, and Ag top-electrode deposition without vacuum break. In addition to the p-i interface control, various interface control techniques such as FTO-glass pre-annealing in O2 environment to further reduce sheet resistance of FTO-glass, thin layer of TiO2 deposition to prevent H2 plasma reduction of FTO layer, and hydrogen plasma treatment prior to n-layer deposition, etc. were developed. The best initial solar cell efficiency using single-chamber PECVD system of 10.5% for test cell area of 0.2 $cm^2$ could be achieved by adopting various interface control methods.

Various facilities in the river working in a complex interdependence network result in both desired and adverse effects. Among these, the weir crossing the river continuously acts in various ways, such as securing river maintenance flow and water level during dry-period, and rising flood level during rainy period. Until now, weir planning was only limited to flood mitigation management. Recently, the demand for securing river environment functions is increasing. Therefore, the necessity for an environmental flow has emerged. Nevertheless, there is no analysis and evaluation of the ecological functional aspects applying the environmental flow when planning facilities. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and systematize an assessment method that considers not only flood control but also river environment. Environmental flow was applied to the weir named Dondaet-bo and hydraulic analysis was conducted for each retention, demolition, and re-installation case. Also, this research was conducted to minimize the impact on the surrounding river facilities and flood assessments from previous perspectives were performed. The study result demonstrated a plan to reinstall the weir as a natural riffle. Through this study, it is expected that the flood control and environmental functions of rivers can be secured in combination.

In general, existing emergency evacuation guiding systems depend on visual techniques like emergency lights or LEDs. Actually people in the case of fire emergency condition may not obtain a range of view because of smoke from the fire. This paper introduces a technique to design an emergency guiding system using directivity sound to cope with this problem. In this case all speakers are serially connected for audio signal transmission in a serial fashion to achieve convenient speaker installation. Floyd algorithm is used to find shortest evacuation paths. Because serially connected multi-channel speakers are weak in case of disconnection, this paper uses a technique to solve the diagnostic problem. In the proposed system, a PC based on the USB protocol is used for control and observation. The system has achievements, such as increasing evacuation rate under emergency conditions, and serial transmission of audio signal for easy maintenance and low installation cost.

Measurements of the automobile manufacturers are available anywhere and anytime, directly based on the criterion of failure is measured. The maintenance of high-precision production activities is direct evidence of the fact that competitive manufacturing activities are very important in determining the success of companies to recall defective starting from raw material costs. The current manufacturing sites produce calipers and clearance gauge the degree of tool only specific. Therefore, judging the quality, including the number of errors, requires a lot of attention to the dimension failures in day-to-day measurements and measurement tasks and duties repeated in difficult situations. In this paper, we aim to develop a vehicle manufacturing plant site using each of the manufacturing processes while operating a measurement tool. We display it using the Image Processing PC-based S/W with all those visual facts by management and recorded as image information a more accurate and current situation to obtain information and share visual measurements. We carry out research on the design and development vision inspection algorithm applied for pattern-recognition techniques that can help manufacturing site quality control.
Since Chrysler Motor Co. had experienced the digital development system in the beginning of 1990's, most of leading automobile companies are trying to apply a digital information system for their own business process reengineering based upon concurrent engineering system from product planning phase. This is called as virtual DMU(Digital Mock-Up) system instead of the traditional PMU(Physical Mock-Up) system. By using the virtual prototype, all of the design requirements and system specifications can be checked, changed and optimized more quickly and more efficiently. This paper consists of five chapters for the DMU information system. In the 1$^{st}$ chapter, the principle of digital design system is suggested by using four basic modules such as product design module, process design module, manufacturing system design module and central control module. The basic scheme of DMU is introduced with the benefits of application in the chapter 2. In the chapter 3, a digital design process of new car development is explained with the detailed DMU design and design review processes. In the chapter 4, the practical DMU manufacturing techniques and applications are introduced as CAD/CAM analyses, DPA(Digital Pre-Assembly)reviews for development, production, operation and maintenance phases, digital tolerance analyses and digital factory analyses for assembling line simulation, automated robot welding processes, production jig & fixtures and painting process simulation. Finally, the activities of digital design support; CAS-styling, CAE-engineering and CAT-testing are summarized for design optimization in the chapter 5. As today's automobile manufactures and related business organizations are struggling to compete in the global marketplace, they are concentrating on efficient use of DMU information system to reduce the new car development cost, to have shorten the delivery schedule and to improve product design quality. To meet the demand of those automobile industries on digital information systems, the CALS(Computer aided Acquisition and Logistics Support) and EC(Electronic Commerce)initiative has been focused as a dominant philosophy in defense & commercial industries, specially automobile industries.s.

Degradation due to delamination occurs frequently in the high temperature superconductors (HTS) coil of rotating machines made with 2nd generation (2G) HTS wire, and the authors have observed other similar cases. Since an HTS field coil for a rotating machine is required to have stable current control and maintain a steady state, co-winding techniques for insulation material and epoxy resin for shape retention and heat transfer improvement are applied during coil fabrication. However, the most important limiting factor of this technique is delamination, which is known to be caused by the difference in thermal expansion between the epoxy resin and 2G HTS wire. Therefore, in this study, the experimental results of mixing the ratio of epoxy resin and alumina ($Al_2O3$) filler were applied to the fabrication of small and large test coils to solve the problem of degradation. For the verification of this scheme, eight prototypes of single pancake coils with different shapes were fabricated. They showed good results. The energization and operation maintenance tests of the stacked coils were carried out under liquid neon conditions similar to the operation temperature of an MW-class rotating machine. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the alumina powder mixed with epoxy resin in an appropriate ratio is an effective solution of de-lamination problem of 2G HTS coil.

A steam generator poses many difficulties during the development of a sodium-cooled fast reactor because of the sodium-water-reaction problems. Until now, several types of steam generators have been developed, but the specifications of these generators differed in each country. Moreover, even if a country had developed a steam generator, it was not used in the subsequent reactor because the current techniques were not stabilized to select the proper steam generator. As a common development, the Benson steam cycle with few welding locations and high economical efficiency may be adopted. Moreover, the design is dwelled on the convenience of inspection, detection, control, and maintenance for the wear caused by sodiumwater reactions. The specifications of the designed steam generators were reviewed and the current technical problems for steam generators were analyzed. Concepts were proposed to overcome the current technical problems for steam generators.
Gravel scattering that is generated during operation of high-speed railway vehicle is cause to damage of vehicle such as windows, axle protector and so on. Especially, those are frequently occurred in winter season when snow ice is generated easily. Above all, damage of vehicle windows has not only caused maintenance cost but also increased psychological anxiety of passengers. Various methods such as heating system using copper wire, heating jacket and heating air are applied to remove snow ice generated on the under-body of vehicle. However, the methods require much run-time and man power which can be low effectiveness of work. Therefore, this paper shows that large-area heating system was developed based on heating coat in order to fundamentally prevent snow ice damage on high-speed railway vehicle in the winter season. This system gives users high convenience because that can remotely control the heating system using IoT-based wireless communication. For evaluating the applicability to railroad sites, a field test on an actual high-speed railroad operation was conducted by applying these techniques to the brake cylinder of a high-speed railroad vehicle. From the results, it evaluated how input voltage and electric power per unit area of the heating specimen influences exothermic performance to draw the permit power condition for icing. In the future, if the system developed in the study is applied at the railroad site, it may be used as a technique for preventing all types of damages occurring due to snow ice in winter.
Ninety six intact male sheep (12 months old with mean live weight of about 35 kg) were used to assess the effects of restricted feeding on intake, digestion, nitrogen balance and metabolizable energy (ME). The animals were selected from two known Iranian small and large body size breeds: 48 Sangsari (S) and 48 Afshari (A), and were divided into two equal groups: restricted (R) and a control (C). Each group had 48 sheep (24 each breed). The experiment had a duration of 15 and 75 days adaptation and treatment periods, respectively. The animals were individually placed in metabolism cages and fed a diet based on pelleted concentrate mixture consisting of alfalfa, barley grain, cottonseed meal and barley straw. The animals in group C were fed ad libitum, while animals in group R were fed at maintenance level and maintained a relatively constant live weight. During the experiment, the average daily weight gain (ADG) of S and A animals in R group was 0.34 and -0.25 g/d (0.02 and -0.02 $g/kg^{0.75}/d$), respectively. While that of S and A animals in C group was 174.4 and 194.4 g/d (10.16 and 11.48 $g/kg^{0.75}/d$), respectively. Nitrogen (N) was determined by both measured and regression methods. Animals of R group stayed at about zero N balance (0.01 and -0.00 g $N/kg^{0.75}/d$ for S and A animals, respectively). The N retention of animals of both S and A breeds in C group were similar (0.45 and 0.46 g $N/kg^{0.75}/d$, respectively). Digestible organic matter intake (DOMI) and ME requirement for maintenance (MEm) were measured by both constant weight technique and regression method by regressing N balance on DOMI and ME intake on ADG. The measured DOMI during constant weight was 24.61 and 24.27 g $DOMI/kg^{0.75}/d$ and the calculated DOMI from regression equation was 24.24 and 24.22 g $DOMI/kg^{0.75}/d$, for S and A animals, respectively. The measured MEm was 402 and 401 kJ $ME/kg^{0.75}/d$ and the calculated MEm from regression analysis was 398 and 400 kJ $ME/kg^{0.75}/d$ for S and A breeds, respectively. There were no significant differences between both measured and regression techniques. There was no significant difference between S and A breeds for DOMI, N retention, MEm, digestibility and metabolizability values. Digestibility values for OM, GE and CP and metabolizability were significantly (p<0.05) higher in restricted feeding sheep compared with that of sheep fed ad libitum.

Recently, remodeling is increasing due to aging of buildings. Therefore, the importance of quality control of structures has been raised, and interest in safety diagnosis and evaluation of structures has been increasing. In order to accurately diagnose old buildings, a diagnostic evaluation technique is needed to evaluate the defects of structures in advance. In addition, as the safety diagnostic criteria for reconstruction are improved and the weight of structural safety is increased, researches on safety diagnosis techniques of structures that are faster and more reliable are needed. In this study, we tried to estimate the compressive strength by examining the correlation between ultrasonic pulse velocity and compressive strength of a 1 story structure consisting of vertical and horizontal members of reinforced concrete using ultrasonic pulse velocity method, which is one of the nondestructive testing methods. The purpose of this study is to examine the applicability in the field. As a result, the estimated average error rate of the compressive strength of the structure using the ultrasonic pulse velocity method was 28.7%, which confirmed the applicability in the field. However, in order to increase the accuracy of the estimation, the necessity of the reliable diagnostic method using the composite nondestructive testing method was confirmed.
