We investigate a supply chain arrangement where a manufacturing company outsources it sassmbly operations to two contract manufacturers. Each contract manufacturer is different in improvement capability : e.g., one is more capable than the other. This improvement capability is supposed to in-duce supply cost reduction that ultimately benefits the manufacturing company. Over time, the manufacturer has to decide how much it should outsource to each contract manufacturer and how much processde/assembled the semi-finished units should be when they re shipped back to the manufacturing company from the contract manufacturers. We employ the optimal control theory to answer the questions, and suggest numerical examples focused on the relationship among the optimal outsourcing amounts, contract manufacturer's improvement capabilities, and their capacity con-straints.
The purpose of this study was to test the effects of health contract on the performance level for activity of daily living(ADL) in the hemiplegic patients. A quasi - experimental research for health contract, which was approved as an effective method of nursing intervention, was attempted to increase the performance of the hemiplegic patients' ADL. As a purpose sample, 69 hemiplegic patients hospitalized at Oriental medicine hospital of K university were taken and devided into the experimental group and the control group by means of random assignment. After Contracting with the experimental group, they were reinforced everyday for 20 minutes. The experimental group and the control group were observed and interviewed for five times at the in terval of 3~4 days by the trained nurses for this research. The data Collected through above mentioned methods were compute analyzed by t-test and ANOVA according to the purpose of this study. The data collected through above mentioned methods were computer analyzed by t-test and ANOVA according to the purposre of this study. strate increased the performance level for ADL than the Control group” was supported(t=2.96, df=52.76, p= .004). Sub Hypothesis 1,2,4,5 : “The hypothesis that the experimental group with health contract will demonstrate increased the performance level for eating(t=2.29, df=42.70, p= .027), personal hygiene and grooming (t=4.04, df=43.10, p= .000), dressing(t=3.32, df=67, p= .001) and undressing (t=3.47, df=48.44, p= .001) than the control group” was supported. Sub Hypothesis 3.6 : “The hypothesis that the experimental group with health contract will demonstrate increased the performance level for toiletting(t= .19, df=67, p= .849) and mobilization (t= .30, df=67, p= .765) than the control group” was not supported. The conclusion can be that the positive relationship between the nurse and the patient results in the desired performance level for ADL in the hemiplegic patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate influence of contract-relax exercise on functional leg length inequality (FLLI) and muscle activity. Methods: The subjects were consisted of 40 healthy adults who had FLLI of which degree was at least 10mm. All subjects were randomly assigned to two groups : Contract-Relax Exercise (CRE) group (n=20), control group (n=20). The experimental group underwent CRE for 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Myosystem 1200 was used to measure the activity of rectus femoris and hamstring muscle. The tape measure method was used to measure FLLI. Statistical analysis was used repeated ANOVA know comparison of period, independent T-est know comparison of experiment group and control group. Results: All measurements for each subject took the following test : pre-test, post-test in 2 weeks, post-test in 4 weeks. The FLLI of the experimental group was significantly reduced according to within intervention period (p<0.05). Rectus femoris and hamstring muscle activity of the experimental group was significantly increased (p<0.05). Conclusion: The CRE can reduce FLLI and increase rectus femoris and hamstring muscle activity. Various contract-relax exercise for reduced of FLLI and the methods should be customized for the patients.
Purpose: This study was done to verify the effects of preeducation and health contract on anxiety and adaptability of children with leukemia when undergoing a spinal puncture. Methods: Children in experimental group 1 (10) were given preeducation prior to the procedure and children in experimental group 2 (13), a health contract. Children in the control group (16) received the regular hospital preparation. Observation tools were used to evaluate adaptability and anxiety. Heart rate and oxygen saturation was also used as a measure of anxiety. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Results: Compared with the control group, experiment groups 1 and 2 showed significant difference in adaptability regarding the number of assistants and test posture. Experiment groups 1 and 2 showed significant difference in voice tone and movement level when compared with the control group. Elevation level in heart rate showed significant differences between the three groups. Conclusions: Preeducation and nursing mediation through health contracts were shown to be effective methods to reduce anxiety and increase adaptability in children with leukemia who were undergoing a spinal tap.
This paper considers a supply chain consisting of a component manufacturer and a product manufacturer. The component manufacturer provides components for the product manufacturer based on a vendor-managed inventory type of supply contract, and also faces demands from the market with the option of to accept or reject each incoming demand. Using the Markov decision process model, we examine the structure of the optimal production control and inventory rationing policy. Two types of heuristics are presented. One is the fixed-buffer policy and the other uses two linear functions. We implement a computational study and present managerial insights based on the observations.
In Korea, condominium apartment was supplied 50 years ago. However, the problems related to contract and selling in lots still happens. Most of these problems is due to be made a contract and selling in lots before completion of condominium. For solving these problems, it is necessary for throughgoing selling in lots and administrative guidance in time for development. Because of the problem after the selling in lots become involved not only selling in lots of developer and the contract with purchaser, but also condominium management and repair of defect processing system. As a result of consideration to development control and administrative guidance in Hawaii State, it may be had some effects like an appropriate management system, consumer protection and consumer education.
English law accepts the basic principle of freedom of contract that the parties should be free to agree on any terms that they like unless their agreement is illegal or otherwise contrary to public policy because it infringes some public interest. On the other hand, it has been limited for hundreds of years on the basis that certain contract terms, particularly in standard form, may alter a distribution of risks that the customer would reasonably intended. The alteration may often result from his simple ignorance caused by either lack of opportunity to become aware of clauses or inability to understand their full potential implications. In addition, it may also result from disparity in bargaining power which does not allow the customer to look after their own interests even if he is fully aware of the unacceptable clauses. In response to this problem, English law has employed both judicial and statutory intervention techniques to control unfair contract terms. This study describes and analyzes in detail how English law regulates such terms, particularly, in standard form, in order to provide legal advice to our sellers residing either in UK or in Korea who plan to enter into UK markets. It also attempts to explore any problem in the existing double legislations of UCTA and UTCCR and put forward future direction of English law in light of the Draft Unfair Terms Bill which was currently proposed by the Law Commissioners. The main concern of this paper will be confined to some of the various aspects of both judicial and statutory control of unfair contract terms in English law which may draw our attention in terms of domestic or international business sales.
This study investigates a buyer-supplier supply chain, in which a buyer delegates the production process to a supplier as in many practices. The consumer's buying intention and overall supply chain performance are affected not only by the buyer's decision on sales price but also by the supplier's decision on product quality. Therefore, the buyer has a motivation to control the supplier's quality investment. Among various incentive schemes that the buyer can adopt in practice, we consider a revenue-sharing contract and investigate its unique characteristics. By comparison with a typical wholesale price contract, we reveal that the revenue-sharing contract can enhance supply chain's overall performance, including quality, demand, and profits of not only overall supply chain but also each player. We contribute to the academia and the supply chain practice by providing important guidelines in adopting incentive schemes and effectively managing product quality in a supply chain.
Following the increasing importance of logistics function in today's company operation, this work explores the mechanism for cooperation within a supply chain, especially between a firm and an independent logistics supplier. We first characterize the optimal linear logistics contract based upon the recent developments in contract theory, and then investigate the effect of such a contract on the firm's inventory policy. The results indicate that the order quantity becomes smaller and the lead time becomes shorter and under the optimal contract than without the incentive scheme. Accordingly, the service level under the optimal contract becomes higher. These findings are in accordance with the literature on vertical control and JIT (Just in Time) philosophy.
