분산 시스템에서 인과적 메시지 로깅에 기반한 효율적 회복 알고리즘 (An Efficient Recovery Algorithm based on Causal Message Logging in Distributed Systems)

  • 인과적 메시지 로깅은 정상수행시 낙관적 메시지 로깅의 장점을 가지고, 회복시 비관적 메시지 로깅의 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 회복 프로세스들간의 비동기성을 향상시키기 위한 인과적 메시지 로깅에 기반한 새로운 회복 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 인과적 메시지 로깅 기반 회복 알고리즘들은 살아있는 프로세스들의 수행을 대기시키거나, 회복 프로세스들간의 높은 동기성을 요구한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 회복 알고리즘은 각 회복 프로세스가 자신의 회복만을 책임지게 함으로써, 여러 개의 프로세스들이 동시적으로 고장이 발생하더라도 회복시 살아있는 프로세스들의 수행을 대기시키지 않고, 회복 프로세스들 중 하나의 회복 프로세스에게만 과부하가 발생하지 않도록 한다. 또한, 제안하는 알고리즘은 각 회복 프로세스의 회복 과정이 다른 회복 프로세스의 연속적인 고장들에 의해 지연되지 않도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 회복 알고리즘의 정당성을 증명하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안하는 회복 알고리즘이 기존 회복 알고리즘에 비해 고장난 프로세스의 평균회복시간을 단축시킨다는 것을 보여준다.Abstract Causal message logging has the advantages of optimistic message logging during failure-free execution and pessimistic message logging during recovery. In this paper, we present a new recovery algorithm based on causal message logging for improving asynchrony among recovering processes. Existing recovery algorithms based on causal message logging block the execution of live processes or require high synchronization among recovering processes. As each recovering process is responsible for only its recovery in our algorithm, the algorithm avoids blocking the execution of live processes during recovery even in concurrently multiple failures and overloading only one among recovering processes. Moreover, it allows the recovery of each recovering process not to be delayed by the continuous failures of other recovering processes. We prove the correctness of our recovery algorithm, and our simulation results show that our algorithm reduces the average recovery time of a failed process compared with the existing recovery algorithms.

천연 제올라이트를 이용한 고농도 질소 회수 (Recovery of nitrogen from high strength waste stream by using natural zeolite (Clinoptilolite))

  • This paper presents the applicability of natural zeolite (Clinoptilolite) for recovery of ammonium nitrogen from high-strength wastewater stream. Isotherm experiments showed the ammonium exchange Clinoptilolite followed Freundlich isotherm and its maximum exchange capacity was $18.13mg\;NH_4{^+}-N/g$ zeolite. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis indicated that a significant amount of nitrogen was adsorbed to the Clinoptilolite. Optimal flowrate for recovery of high concentration ammonium nitrogen was determined at 16 BV/d (=19.2 L/min) throughout the lab-scale column studies operated under various flowrate conditions. This study also provided a method to determine the recovery rate of final product of nitrogen fertilizer based on the model application to the lab-scale continuous data.

Effect of Continuous External Ventricular Drainage on Delayed Ischemic Neurologic Deficits after Aneurysmal Clipping in Spontaneous Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

  • Objective : The purpose of this reports is to describe the influence of continuous external ventricular drainage [EVD] on delayed ischemic neurologic deficit [DIND] after early surgery in ruptured aneurysmal patients. Methods : The authors reviewed 229 patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage [SAH] who had been treated with clipping at a single institution between 1998 and 2004. Of these, 121 patients underwent continuous EVD [Group A] postoperatively, whereas 108 patients did not [Group B]. EVD was performed at ipsilateral Kocher's point and maintained 2 to 14 days postoperatively. Results : DIND occurred in 15.7% [19 cases] of patients in Group A, 25% [27 cases] from Group B [P value=0.112]. Compared with Group A, Group B was more likely to suffer acute symptom of DIND and showed poor response to 3- H therapy. Major symptoms of DIND in Group A were mild confusion [36.8%] and mild deterioration of mental state [26.3%], contrary to weakness of extremities [59.2%] in Group B. At discharge, Glasgow Outcome Scales [GOS] of Group A were : good recovery [63.2%], moderately disabled [21%], severely disabled [10.5%], dead [5.3%] and Group B : good recovery [48.1%], moderately disabled [37%], severely disabled [14.8%] and dead [0%]. Of 121 patients from group A, 35 patients [28.9%] suffered ventriculitis. Conclusion : Continuous EVD after aneurysmal clipping in patients with SAH reduced the risk of DIND and its sequelae, relieved its symptoms, and improved the outcome.

IT자산 장애처리의 사전 예측을 위한 기계학습 프로세스 (Machine Learning Process for the Prediction of the IT Asset Fault Recovery)

  • IT자산은 조직의 경영목적을 지원해주는 핵심영역이며, IT자산의 장애 발생시 신속한 처리를 지원하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 IT자산의 장애가 발생할 경우, 장애해결을 위하여 기존의 장애 데이터를 기초로 장애처리 예측 기법을 제시한다. 제안한 장애처리 예측 기법은 첫째, 기존의 장애처리 데이터를 전처리하여 장애처리 유형별로 분류하고 둘째, 분류된 장애처리 유형과 장애 발생 후 접수된 내용을 키워드 매핑시키는 규칙을 제정하였으며 셋째, 제정된 규칙에 의하여 장애 발생 후 장애처리 방법이 사전에 예측 가능한 기계학습 프로세스를 제시하였다. 제시한 기계학습 프로세스의 유효성을 입증하기 위하여 A사에서 6개월 동안 접수된 33,000여건의 전산기기 장애 데이터를 실험한 결과 장애처리 예측의 적중률이 약 72%였으며, 지속적인 기계학습을 통하여 81%로 향상되었다.

개에서 Propofol의 연속투여효과 (Effects of Continuous Administration of Propofol in Dogs)

  • The effects of continuous administration of propofol on the blood, liver and kidney of dogs were evaluated. Propofol(5mg/kg) was repeatedly administered to 8 mongrel dogs intravenously for consecutive seven days. Time to recovery, body temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate were measured and recorded during experimental period. Hematology (WBC, RBC, PCV) and serum chemistry (AST, ALT, BUN, Creatinine) were also monitored for eight days. Time to standing significantly decreased on day 4 and 6 compared with that on day 1. Body temperature 5 minutes after injection on day 5 and 6, and respiratory rate before injection on day 2, 3, 5 and 6 were significantly increased, respectively. No significant changes were observed in total WBC counts, total RBC counts and PCV values. The AST and AIT values were decreased on day 2 compared with those on day 1, but were within clinically normal range. There were no significant changes in BUN and Creatinine levels. This study suggests that consecutive day propofol anesthesia in dogs can be used for the purpose of the treatment and restraint.

전기자동차용 기계적 에너지 회생장치 (Kinetic Energy Recovery System for Electric Vehicles)

  • This paper presents a new regenerative brake system of electric vehicles that employs a continuous variable transmission(CVT) and a flywheel. The developed device has advantages over existing regenerative brakes from a standpoint of reliability and versatility in actual driving conditions. The system consists of a CVT, two wheels, a flywheel, a coupling and auxiliary powertrain components. The CVT is designed as a combination of two cones and a roller, which causes the velocity difference between the wheel and the flywheel. The power flow of the flywheel system is controlled by the CVT roller and the coupling through step motors. A prototype has been developed and then its performance has been investigated for various operating conditions. Results show that the storage efficiency of the flywheel is much affected by the vehicle's velocity and it is reduced below 20% for high speed, as compared to the 25% efficiency for an ideal condition. The CVT is a primary factor for lowering the flywheel efficiencies due to large friction and slipping between the cone and the roller.

  • 본 논문에서는 버스트 모뎀에서 반복적인 프리엠블(preamble)과 차등 검출 방식을 이용하여 반송파와 타이밍을 동시에 복원하는 동기 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다 제안된 방식은 짧은 길이의 프리엠블과 낮은 SNR(signal-to-noise ratio)에서도 주파수 편차의 정도에 관계없이 주파수 편차와 심볼 타이밍 오차를 높은 정확도로 추정할 수 있으며 CPFSK(continuous phase frequency shift keying) 방식 및 PSK(phase shift keying) 유형의 방식에 적용이 된다 모의 실험을 통하여 제안된 동기 방식과 기존의 동기 방식들과의 방식들의 프리엠블의 길이에 따른 동기 검출 성능을 비교하고 비트 오류율에 미치는 영향을 분석한다.

Anaerobic Hydrogen Fermentation and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) for Decentralized Sanitation and Reuse-Organic Removal and Resource Recovery

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate integrated anaerobic hydrogen fermentation and membrane bioreactor (MBR) for on-site domestic wastewater treatment and resource recovery. A synthetic wastewater (COD 17,000 mg/L) was used as artificial brown water which will be discharged from urine diversion toilet and fed into a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) type anaerobic reactor with inclined plate. The effluent of anaerobic reactor mixed with real household grey water (COD 700 mg/L) was further treated by MBR for reuse. An optimum condition maintained in anaerobic reactor was HRT of 8 hrs, pH 5.5, SRT of 5 days and temperature of $37^{\circ}C$. COD removal of 98% was achieved from the overall system. Total gas production rate and hydrogen content was 4.6 L/day and 52.4% respectively. COD mass balance described the COD distribution in the system via reactor byproducts and effluent COD concentration. The results of this study asserts that, anaerobic hydrogen fermentation combined with MBR is a potent system in stabilizing waste strength and clean hydrogen recovery which could be implemented for onsite domestic wastewater treatment and reuse.

  • In this study, an artificial solar simulator composed of a 2.5 kW Xe-Arc lamp and mirror reflector was used to carry out the solar thermal two step thermochemical water decomposition cycle which can produce high efficiency continuous hydrogen production. Through various operating conditions, the change of hydrogen production due to the possibility of a dual-zone reactor and heat recovery were experimentally analyzed. Based on the reaction temperature of Thermal-Reduction step and Water-Decomposition step at $1,400^{\circ}C$ and $1,000^{\circ}C$ respectively, the hydrogen production decreased by 23.2% under the power off condition, and as a result of experiments using heat recovery technology, the hydrogen production increased by 33.8%. Therefore, when a thermochemical two-step water decomposition cycle is conducted using a dual-zone reactor with heat recovery, it is expected that the cycle can be operated twice over a certain period of time and the hydrogen production amount is increased by at least 53.5% compared to a single reactor.

자하거약침(紫河車藥鍼)의 Bell's palsy에 대한 치험보고(治驗報告) (The Effect of Hominis Placenta Herbal Acupuncture on Bell's palsy)

  • This report was done to observe the effect of Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The study group comprised 16 patients who arrived at Woo-suk university oriental hospital from January, 1999 till January, 2000 for Bell's palsy. All patients were divided into two group. One was herbal acupunture group, and the other was control group. Acupunture group was done herbal acupuncture therapy on the facial acupuncture points. Followings are achievement and a term of each group. In herbal acupuncture group, 100% motor recovery was 7 case, 75% was 1 case, and 25% motor recovery term was $7.38{\pm}5.21$ days, 50% was $11.00{\pm}6.16$ days, 75% was $15.13{\pm}9.55$ days, 100% was $23.14{\pm}7.97$ days. In control group, 100% motor recovery was 4 case, 75% was 2 case, 25% below was 2 case and 25% motor recovery term was $11.17{\pm}4.96$days, 50% was $18.17{\pm}6.82$ days, 75% was $29.50{\pm}6.95$ days, 100% was $44.00{\pm}11.49$ days. The above results indicate that Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture is a useful effect on Bell's palsy. thus, continuous herbal acupunture study will be needed for more clinical application on Bell' palsy.
