Outcomes-based Curriculum Development and Student Evaluation in Nursing Education

  • Purpose: A curriculum development model is presented to examine the processes necessary to develop new programs or evaluate existing programs within the philosophy of outcomes-based education in nursing, especially in the context of accreditation. The philosophy of outcomes-based education is to produce individuals who can demonstrate the evidence of competencies in designated areas of education. For nursing education, this means competencies in performing the role of professional nursing as defined by the profession and social needs at the beginning level upon completing a nursing program. Methods: A curriculum development model has been developed analytically based on the literature and experiences. Results: A 10-step process framework incorporating the tenets of outcomes-based nursing education is illustrated. Conclusion: This curriculum development framework can be applied in developing new educational programs in nursing or to evaluate and revise existing programs in anticipation of the accreditation process that is moving with a full force in such countries as Korea.

노드의 복원력이 있는 온톨로지 기반의 동적 멀티캐스트 라우팅 연구 (A study on Robust Topology for the Resilient Ontology-based Dynamic Multicast Routing Protocol)

  • Ad-hoc망은 기반의 하부 구조 계층의 도움 없이 이동 노드와 클러스터(Cluster)들만으로 구성된 유연한 무선 통신망이다. 위의 연구 기술은 제한된 대역폭과 높은 이동성으로 인해 ad-hoc망에서는 견고하고 간단하면서도 에너지 소비를 최소화해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이동 노드의 위치 정보를 탐색하여 임의의 클러스터 영역을 지정하여 효율적인 온톨로지(Ontology) 기술의 망을 형성시켜, 네트워크의 변화에 대한 예측을 가능케 하는 추론망을 제안한다. 초기에는 mesh 형태의 망을 구성하고 각 노드간의 거리를 분석하고 노드의 이전 값과 현재의 값을 비교하여 노드의 방향성을 예측한다. 이는 노드의 다양한 상황 정보 수집을 해석하여 추론이 가능한 온톨로지 기반의 상황인식(Context-Awareness)기술을 활용하였다. 제안하고자 하는 RODMRP(Resilient Ontology-based Dynamic Multicast Routing Protocol)의 추론망 구조는 온톨로지 기반에서 하나의 상황인식 형태를 떤 이동 노드에서 복원력이 뛰어난 트리 구조를 제공한다. 제안된 RODMRP는 이동 노드간의 변화된 환경에서의 재연결성 유지 및 과도한 packet의 증가에 따른 traffic 증가와 중복 전송에 따른 패킷내에서의 중복정보의 제거 목적으로 제안되었다.

  • 영어 교육 전문가 R. Ellis를 비롯한 다수의 외국어학습연구자의 연구에 따르면, 외국어를 학습자의 실제상황에서 반복적으로 학습함으로써 영어의 실제성을 높이는 학습 방법이 효과적이며 중요한 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 상황인식 서비스가 접목된 외국어 학습 서비스를 제안함으로써 영어 학습의 실제성을 높이는 외국어 학습 콘텐츠의 개발을 모색한다. 이와 같은 접근은 실제 환경에서 무의식인 외국어 습득을 돕는 디지털 교육 콘텐츠에 대한 연구와 실시간 다중 센서 데이터를 기반으로 학습자의 경험적 특성을 분석하는 연구에 기반 한다.

U-Learning을 위한 위치 기반 서비스로서의 상황 인식 기술 (Context-Awareness Technology for Location Based-Service for Ubiquitous Learning)

  • 본 논문에서는 위치 기반 서비스로서의 U-Learning에 적용할 수 있는 구성 및 온톨리지 이론을 정의하였다. 또한 본 논문에서는 위치 기반 서비스로서의 U-Learning에 대한 확실한 비전을 제공하고자 하였다. 상황 인식을 적용한 전형적인 U-Learning을 소개하였으며, 핵심 아이디어 및 기술적 개념을 포함한 학습 환경 구조도 소개하였다. 고급 정보통신 기술의 원리를 적용하여, 위치 기반 서비스로서의 U-Learning을 위한 인공지능 기반 상황 인식 개념도 정리하였다. 본 논문에서 언급하는 위치 기반 서스비로서의 U-Learning 및 하위 개념들은 새로운 패러다임을 제공할 것이며, 학습 환경 구조에 포함된 하위 요소들도 모두 제안하였다.

A Proposal for Developing a Situated Learning Support Systems-Based on an MMORPG

  • The primary purposes of this study are to develop a Situated Learning Support System based on an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) and to investigate applications of Situated Learning theory both hypothetically and practically. In Situated Leaning theory, cognition is interpreted as a dynamic system related to situation, context and activity. According to this theory, learning context, social interaction and personal direct experience are also emphasized. A virtual reality learning system based on an MMORPG provides context, social interaction and a learning environment able to provide direct experiences. However, such a system has been difficult for teachers to develop. This study aims to develop a support system facilitating the construction of a Situated Learning System based on an MMORPG. This study proposes new research and practical applications of Situated Learning theory using educational games.

Design Principles for Learning Environment based on STEAM Education

  • In this study, a learning environment based on STEAM theory was proposed to support and improve learners' activities and achievements for convergent design education. The learning environment design influence STEAM education with intentional design and schedule coordination, schools can create informal environments that are crucial to STEAM education. The physical surroundings of the learning space should be applied to teaching methods and learning activity, especially for STEAM-based education, physical space conditions should support the learner's design thinking and process. Furthermore, STEAM-based education environment should support a vast array of experiences that allow students to learn the context around ideas and skills. For spaces for learning environment based on STEAM, common design principles should be considered such as technology integration, safety and security, transparency, multipurpose space, and outdoor learning. Therefore, the learning environment based on STEAM needs flexible and mobile, connected, integrated, organized, flipped, and team-focused surroundings to support the learners understand, participate, cooperate, and accomplish the design process.

A study on the Robust and Systolic Topology for the Resilient Dynamic Multicasting Routing Protocol

  • In the recently years, there has been a big interest in ad hoc wireless network as they have tremendous military and commercial potential. An Ad hoc wireless network is composed of mobile computing devices that use having no fixed infrastructure of a multi-hop wireless network formed. So, the fact that limited resource could support the network of robust, simple framework and energy conserving etc. In this paper, we propose a new ad hoc multicast routing protocol for based on the ontology scheme called inference network. Ontology knowledge-based is one of the structure of context-aware. And the ontology clustering adopts a tree structure to enhance resilient against mobility and routing complexity. This proposed multicast routing protocol utilizes node locality to be improve the flexible connectivity and stable mobility on local discovery routing and flooding discovery routing. Also attempts to improve route recovery efficiency and reduce data transmissions of context-awareness. We also provide simulation results to validate the model complexity. We have developed that proposed an algorithm have design multi-hierarchy layered networks to simulate a desired system.

한국의학교육의 새로운 과제: 불확실성이 큰 문제상황에 대처하는 능력의 강화 (New Challenges for Korean Medical Education: Enhancing Students' Abilities to Deal with Uncertain Ill-Defined Problems)

  • Over the last century, medical education in North America has evolved by identifying educational challenges within its own socio-cultural context and by appropriately responding to these challenges. A discipline-based curriculum, organ-system or integrated curriculum, problem-based curriculum, and competency-based curriculum are historical examples of the educational solutions that have been developed and refined to address specific educational challenges, such as students' lack of basic scientific knowledge, lack of integration between scientific knowledge and clinical practice, and lack of clinical practice. In contrast, Korean medical education has evolved with the influence of two forces: (1) the adoption of educational solutions developed in North America by pioneers who have identified urgent needs for medical education reform in Korea over the last three decades, and (2) the revitalization of Korean medical schools' curricula through medical education accreditation and national medical licensing examination. Despite this progressive evolution in Korean medical education, we contend that it faces two major challenges in order to advance to the next level. First, Korean medical education should identify its own problems in medical education and iteratively develop educational solutions within its own socio-cultural context. Secondly, to raise reflective doctors who have scientific knowledge and professional commitment to deal with different types of medical problems within a continuum from well-defined to ill-defined, medical education should develop innovative ways to provide students with a balanced spectrum of clinical problems, including uncertain, ill-defined problems.

An Energy Effective Protocol for Clustering Ad Hoc Network

  • In ad hoc network, the scarce energy management of the mobile devices has become a critical issue in order to extend the network lifetime. Therefore, the energy consumption is important in the routing design, otherwise cluster schemes are efficient in energy conserving. For the above reasons, an Energy conserving Context aware Clustering algorithm (ECC) is proposed to establish the network clustering structure, and a routing algorithm is introduced to choose the Optimal Energy Routing Protocol (OERP) path in this paper. Because in ad hoc network, the topology, nodes residual energy and energy consuming rate are dynamic changing. The network system should react continuously and rapidly to the changing conditions, and make corresponding action according different conditions. So we use the context aware computing to actualize the cluster head node, the routing path choosing. In this paper, we consider a novel routing protocol using the cluster schemes to find the optimal energy routing path based on a special topology structure of Resilient Ontology Multicasting Routing Protocol (RODMRP). The RODMRP is one of the hierarchical ad hoc network structure which combines the advantage of the tree based and the mesh based network. This scheme divides the nodes in different level found on the node energy condition, and the clustering is established based on the levels. This protocol considered the residual energy of the nodes and the total consuming energy ratio on the routing path to get the energy efficiently routing. The proposed networks scheme could get better improve the awareness for data to achieve and performance on their clustering establishment and messages transmission. Also, by using the context aware computing, according to the condition and the rules defined, the sensor nodes could adjust their behaviors correspondingly to improve the network routing.

분수 나눗셈의 지도에서 단위비율 결정 맥락의 실제 적용을 위한 기초 연구 (Teaching Fractional Division : A Basic Research for practical Application Context of Determination of a unit rate)

  • 분수 나눗셈 알고리즘에 대한 학생들의 어려움 중 상당부분은 현행 교과서의 알고리즘 유도방법 자체에 기인한 것으로 보인다. 본 연구에서는 분수 나눗셈 알고리즘을 유도하는 대안적 방법들 중 단위비율 결정 맥락의 교육적 가치를 분석하고 학생들에 대한 설문과 면담을 통해 그 실제 도입의 가능성을 확인하였다. 또한 이 결과를 바탕으로 분수 나눗셈의 지도 방법 및 교육과정 구성에 대한 대안적 방법을 제안하였다.
