Significance of Developing an Analog Contents Design as a Part of Digital Contents Design Education (디지털콘텐츠디자인 교육 과정에서 아날로그콘텐츠 제작의 유의성)

  • This study has began to develop a method for the student major in visual communication and media design to allow them approach to digital contents design developing process in easier and more effective way. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential significance of developing analogue contents design as one of the preliminary works in the digital contents design developing process. The results revealed that designing analogue contents as one of the preliminary works of the digital contents design is: Firstly, it reduces students' mental pressure in organizing the structure of overall information clusters at the phase of information architecture. Secondly, it helps students to find out the object and the preferable form of information design intuitively in the process of information design. Lastly, it is helpful for students to understand the characteristics of digital contents design through clarifying the differences between analogue contents design and digital contents design.

  • The objectives of this study is to create an environment which students could apply effectively through focused on the innovative methods of education and CAD course contents. The facts which were able to figure out from this study were as follows ; 1. After the analysis of the CAD course contents of the american universities, their common contents were in order of introduce to Computer Aided Drafting and design with Auto CAD/ provide fundamental knowledge of the application for use in design/ examine and how this effects 2 D image and model creation/ CAD as a design tool . Over all trend of CAD course contents of interior design program in american university is moving toward utilizing CAD as a design tool. 2. On the other hand, common contents of our local universities were simply introducing CAD. It means that our course contents are more methodological and theoreatical . And american university's program is focused on problem solving solution as a design tool.

  • This research discusses user's context based design methodology for location-based AR contents design. A media contents regarding mobile service should be designed considering user's context in dynamic environment. In this regard, I would like to suggest user's context centered design method for augmented reality contents. There are two different research methods in conventional context-based design method. This research tries to totalize two methods. In this sense, this research investigated previous researches which make a new design method. And then, context-based design methods are compared and the pros of them are integrated so as to create a new context-based design method. This new methodology aims to be an effective design method of creating AR contents in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a contents production process for costume design analysis by take advantage of the image media of Chinese historical backgrounds. The production process of contents for lectures on fashion design analysis can be summarized as follows: The contents for the design analysis of Chinese costumes can be divided into major media and supplementary media. Major media can be completed through the processes including the selection of Chinese historical backgrounds. images and media (video, DVD title or VOD), verification of image capture parts, image captures, and applications of PPT files. Supplementary media consist of production of analysis materials for each item and TPO, report preparation methods and discussions, and printed matters to be used at the stage of image comparison and verification. This way, a process applicable to the design analysis of Chinese costumes can be presented.

  • The BIM libraries and technical contents in order to develop common technical standards that reflect the contents for a BIM design support should be based. It is essential to redress the technological burden on design office requirements. The technical contents consisted of Material Information, Standard Details and Cost Information are made by system of standard classification. By connecting BIM libraries with each of information including the contents, it derives the consistent BIM data application through the integrated model. In addition, we look forward to introducing and applying BIM more easily through securing common technical contents which remove the pressure of engineering developments of each individual architectural design office and prevent overlapping investments.

  • The present research has created and evaluated contents capable of work appreciation visitors changing their viewpoints on their will by introducing mobile exhibition exposition devices (iPad) for large exhibition museum. Various exposition contents of usually invisible parts or those provided in accordance with user positions drew visitors' attentions and improved museum experience satisfaction. Utilization of digitalized exhibition information generated activeness in viewing and new communication between exhibition and a visitor instead of the conventional exhibition exposition.

  • The purpose of this study are to show a new possibility of identity design to be used as tools of users identity expression, designing digital contents by studying on the methods to express users identities successfully in the digital contents design, and to present the possibility to expand the area of identity design. Digital contents are a communication media in it self, but this study tried to consider the digital contents as a tool of users communication or expression. The identity expression, which are not only makes communications efficient but also lets products and companies acknowledged by users, is one of the most indispensable factors in products competitive power in both the present and the future. However, no define methods of identity expression are settled as well as recognized by users properly and accurately yet, so that this study focuses on that point. Therefore, This study is advanced in the direction of establishing the concept of digital identity for an expansion of the media toward the identity expression in design as well as making researchers in successful identity expression ways by means of actual design, more than a graphic image making that simply decorates a digital contents. The point of this study is to show a new concept of identity design that expresses users identities so as to suggest another possibility of identity design.

  • In this paper, PBL-based design education(PBDE) techniques for effective engineering design education to assess the infrastructure and outcome of creative engineering education which has been recognized as an important target in accreditation system of engineering education and a case of contents development as PBDE application to the logic circuit design that is essential integrant course of IT division of universities is presented. Because integrant design is based on compositional technologies with restricted realistic constraints, design components and the application of realistic constraints are different from those of capstone design. PBL technique must be carefully considered as it is used for creative design education. We applied the developed content to real design classes for validation of its performance and effectiveness.
