팟캐스팅의 한국어 교육 적용 사례 연구 -경영학 전공 학습자를 대상으로- (Application of the Podcasting in Korean Education -Aimed at Education for the Business School Students-)

  • The goal of this study is to explore the possibility of applying the podcasting in Korean education for foreign students. To achieve this goal, concepts and applicability of the podcasting is discussed. Previous studies on foreign language education are reviewed and the cases on Korean language education based on technology using mobile phones are investigated. Some of the outstanding merits of the podcasting are found to be its accessibility, mobility and variability along with its room for control by the learners. It also enables the learners to be motivated and to enhance their learning ability. In addition, the podcasting with the content-based instruction is applied for the foreign students majoring in business and its results and implications are discussed. Based on the above results of this study, more active discussions are expected on such issues as educational designs through the podcasting, related variables and the performance evaluation.

  • For the purpose of diagnosing the problems in inquiry instruction and evaluation in secondary schools of Korea, an inquiry achievement test and a questionnaire were administered to a sample of 127 science teachers and 610 junior high school students. The analysis of the results served to the clarification of broo:J. range of problems concerning inquiry teaching. Based on the data gathered and analyzed in this study, the major suggestions are as follows. 1. The content of science textbooks must be diminished, and be written for easier understanding. 2. Science instruction and entrance exams must be changed from content-oriented to inquiry-oriented. 3. Effective teacher education program regarding inquiry teaching and evaluating method must be developed and performed.

교사학습공동체 교사들의 과학 실천 기반 수업을 위한 PCK 구성 (Pedagogical Content Knowledge for Science Practice-Based Instruction Developed by Science Teachers in a Teacher Learning Community)

  • 본 연구에서는 과학 실천 수업을 위한 교사학습공동체를 형성한 5명의 중학교 과학 교사들이 1년간의 교사학습공동체 활동을 통해 과학 실천 수업에 관한 어떠한 PCK를 구성하였는지 분석하였다. 교사학습공동체에서 교사들은 협력적인 수업 설계, 수업 실행 공유 및 성찰을 반복하였다. 본 연구에서는 사전·사후 설문과 면담을 시행하고, 교사학습공동체 모임에 참여 관찰 및 녹음을 하고, 수업계획안, 과학 실천 수업 녹화 영상, 수업 일기 등의 자료를 수집하였다. PCK 이론적 틀에 기반하여 연역적으로 분석하고 다시 귀납적 분석을 통해 그 범주를 정교화하고 수정하여 본 연구의 교사들이 과학 실천 교육과정, 과학 실천 교수 전략, 학생의 과학 실천 학습, 과학 실천 학습평가의 네 가지 PCK 요소에 포함된 총 11개 하위 요소의 PCK를 구성한 것을 밝혔다. 본 연구의 교사들은 과학 실천 교육과정에 관한 지식으로 과학 실천 교육과정 자료에 관한 지식, 핵심 개념 선정 및 교육과정 구조화에 관한 지식을 구성하였고, 과학 실천 교수 전략에 관한 지식으로 과학 실천 특이적 전략, 과학 실천 활동 선정 및 구조화 전략, 과학 실천 학습 가이드 전략에 관한 지식을 구성하였다. 학생의 과학 실천 학습에 관한 지식으로 과학 실천 선지식, 과학 실천 수행 어려움, 과학 실천 동기, 과학 실천 수행 다양성에 관한 지식을 구성하였고, 과학 실천 학습 평가에 관한 지식으로 과학 실천 학습 평가내용, 과학 실천 학습 평가 방법에 관한 지식을 구성하였다. 본 연구의 교사들이 구성한 과학 실천 수업 PCK는 학생들의 과학 실천을 통한 핵심 개념 학습을 위해 고도로 구조화된 지식으로 사료된다.

Design of a DI model-based Content Addressable Memory for Asynchronous Cache

  • This paper presents a novel approach in the design of a CAM for an asynchronous cache. The architecture of cache mainly consists of four units: control logics, content addressable memory, completion signal logic units and instruction memory. The pseudo-DCVSL is useful to make a completion signal which is a reference for handshake control. The proposed CAM is a very simple extension of the basic circuitry that makes a completion signal based on DI model. The cache has 2.75KB CAM for 8KB instruction memory. We designed and simulated the proposed asynchronous cache including CAM. The results show that the cache hit ratio is up to 95% based on pseudo-LRU replacement policy.

남녀 고등학생이 인식안 실천적 문제 중심 가정과 수업의 효과 (Effects of Practical Problem-Based Home Economics Instruction Perceived by Both Female and Male High School Students.)

  • The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of a practical problem-based instruction(PPBHEI) perceived by female and male high school students. One Group post-test only design was used in this quasiexperimental study. The experimental group of the study was 101(67 male and 34 female) second grade students of a high school in Kyung Kee Area. The Practical Problem-Based Home Economics Instruction had been conducted to the group during the 14th weeks of 1997 spring semester. Post-test including the two parts was conducted at the end of the semester. The instrument of the study was developed and used, based on the previous literature after testing validity and reliability by the researcher. The questionnaire was composed of open-ended question. The data of this study were analyzed by content analysis. The results were as follows: 1)both female and male respondents indicated PPBHEI helped to improve their friendships(93.1%), expression skills(69.3%), their thinking ability(82.1%), and problem soiving skills(76.2%); 2)both female and male respondents indicated that problems of PPBHEI were that a few students didn't like joining the class and classroom space was too small; and 3)half of students(52.3%) perceived the Practical Problem-Based Home Economics Instruction related to student achievement.

교수 질 프로필(IQP)에 기반한 중학교 2학년 수학과 교수의 질 분석 (An evaluation on the quality of mathematics instruction for 8th grade based on the instructional quality profile)

  • This study was conducted as a part of the project to evaluate the quality of mathematics instruction in the national curriculum system. The purpose of this study is to measure the consistency between teaching goals of mathematics curriculum, contents presentation of textbooks, and testing including adequacy of each element in mathematics instruction for 8th grade. To do this, we used MIQP (instructional quality profile for Mathematics) developed basing on the instructional quality profile (IQP) in the previous research of the project. First, the quality of textbooks' content presentation for 8th grade was found that the desirable levels in number and operation area and geometric area was relatively less compared to other areas, but it was generally good. Second, it was found that the quality of mathematics testing for 8th grade was good in terms of consistency with the curriculum's teaching goals, consistency with the content presentation of textbooks, and adequacy of testing. However, regional differences in the quality of testing showed that there were some deficiencies in regions outside the metropolitan.

간호사와 간호대학생의 좋은 수업에 대한 인식 (Nurses and Nursing Students' Recognition of Good Instruction)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and assess from nursing students and nurses in the clinical field what constitute good instruction, through the review of nursing students' opinions and clinical field demands. Methods: The study design was used Creswell's exploratory sequential design by collecting and analyzing qualitative data obtained from interviews and then analysis of quantitative data. The participations were 79 seniors in nursing schools and 85 nurses with less than three years of clinical experience. The data were collected through individual interviews and analyzed based on Elo and Kyngas's content analysis method. The quantitative data were collected using the questionnaire developed based on qualitative results and analyzed by SPSS 23.0 program and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Results: The results showed that IPA extracted seven items with high importance but low satisfaction: "nursing fads and trends," "teacher-learner communication and reflection," "materials used in clinical settings such as monitoring results and test results," "special presentations by experienced practitioners," "instruction assures learners' comprehension," "accurate and detailed evaluation standards" and "feedback on homework and exam." Conclusion: The factors comprising good instruction were verified, and the necessity for additional efforts to improve high importance and low performance factors was noted. Therefore, this study can serve as a guide for nursing education facilities and educators in developing of a thorough education system with excellent instruction designed to achieve an ideal nursing education.

수학 교과에서의 수행과제를 활용한 수업 방안 탐색 -백워드 이론을 기반으로- (An Investigation on the Mathematical Instruction Utilizing Performance Tasks according to the Backward Design)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of mathematical instruction through performance task activities based on the The Backward Design, which was suggested at first by Wiggins & McTighe in 1998. The Design deals with a performance assessment task involving the whole objective and its entire content of a lesson. Based on the Backward Design, this study established the mathematical instructional materials, which deal with the concept of 'the sector' taught in middle school, with one large performance task including three small tasks. It is important that in the lesson students be guided to achieve the several learning goals by themselves through reasoning activities. For this purpose, a formal interview was carried out by the subject of three middle school mathematics teachers. As a result, in order to implement the instruction utilizing the performance tasks more efficiently in future, it is required that a large performance task should be selected or developed including the content or problem contexts to be relevant with the real-life challenging situations. In addition, to make students enhance reasoning skills, it is strongly requested that the tasks including the utilization of supplementary materials such as technological devices or manipulatives be dealt with in a lesson.

애니메이션을 활용한 영어 듣기능력 향상 방안 (Improving English listening comprehension by using animation)

  • The purpose of this study is to help the students in middle school improve their English listening comprehension by presenting effective teaching and learning techniques using animation. A good animation provides a self-contained world with language expressed in a virtual context. A few animation such as "Mulan", "The Emperor's New Clothes", and "Gulliver's Travel" are presented. The materials are primarily for English listening comprehension, enhance awareness of American culture and life-styles, and to encourage students' active role in learning English. It is suggested that their use with content-based instruction, where animation provides relevant schema background, makes language relevant and comprehensible. Practical aspects of classroom instruction are discussed, focusing on the adaption of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities to the selected animation. It is concluded that careful animation selection, purposeful lesson planning, and the integration of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities into the content-based lesson encourage natural language skills, especially the listening comprehension and students' interest in English.

A Review of Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge and Subject Matter Knowledge for Teaching Earth System Concepts

  • During the last three decades, earth science has been re-conceptualized as an interdisciplinary discipline entitled Earth System Science (ESS), which is based on knowledge of the physical earth system and human impact on the earth. While there is increasing effort to teach earth as a system in K-12 education, teachers' preparedness of to teach earth system is still in its infancy. This article focuses on reviewing the literature of teachers' knowledge of earth systems and of how teachers' knowledge of subject matter affects their teaching practice and pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). First, the study investigated a literature of PCK in general as well as in science teaching. Then this study duscuss what teachers' subject matter knowledge (SMK) is and what it means to be in teaching earth system science. Third, a literature of teachers' knowledge of earth system was reviewed. Finally, a number of suggestions and implications are made as to what teacher education program should do to better prepare future teachers to teach earth systems.
