다양한 교정용 접착제의 표면거칠기와 표면에너지 요소 분석 (Surface roughness and surface free energy components of various orthodontic adhesives)

  • 치과용 재료의 표면특성은 세균 부착에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 다섯 종류의 광중합 교정용 접착제(불소를 방출하지 않는 세 종류의 콤포지트 레진, 불소를 방출하는 콤포지트 레진 한 종류, 레진 변형 글래스아이오노머 시멘트 한 종류)의 표면특성을 평가하는 것이다. 표면거칠기는 공초점 레이저주사전자현미경을 이용하여 측정하였고, 접촉각과 표면에너지 요소는 sessile drop method를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 교정용 접착제간 표면거칠기는 각 재료간 표면거칠기 차이가 $0.05\;{\mu}m$ 이하로 상대적으로 적지만 각 재료 사이에 유의성 있는 차이를 보였다. Transbond XT와 Enlight는 Monolok2와 Lightbond 보다 유의하게 덜 거칠었다. 접촉각과 표면에너지 구성성분은 접착제 사이에 유의성 있는 큰 차이를 보였는데 특히 레진 변형 글래스아이오노머와 콤포지트 레진 접착제간에 접촉각과 표면에너지에서 커다란 차이를 보였다. 레진 변형 글래스아이오노머의 경우 콤포지트 레진 접착제에 비해 유의하게 작은 접촉각과 높은 표면에너지를 보였으며 콤포지트 레진 접착제보다 강한 극성, 특히 강한 염기성 경향을 보였다 본 연구는 레진 변형 글래스아이오노머가 콤포지트 레진 접착제에 비해 세균 부착에 유리한 환경을 제공한다는 것을 보여주었다.

  • 에폭시 (EP) 수지와 폴리우레탄(PU) 으로 제조된 블렌드 시스템의 접촉각과 기계적 특성을 연구하였다. EP의 경화제로 20 phr의 DDM (4,4'-diamino diphenyl methane)이 사용되었으며 EP/PU의 함량은 100/0~100/60까지 변화시켰다. 접촉각은 Rame-Hart goniometer를 사용 하였으며 젖음액으로는 증류수와 diiodomethane을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 geometric 방법을 사용한 Owens-Wendt와 Wu's model이 블렌드 시스템의 표면 자유에너지를 알아보는데 사용되었다. 시편의 기계적 성질과 강인성은 임계 응력 세기 인자(critical stress intensity factor, $K_{IC}$)와 충격 강도 시험을 통하여 알아보았다. 그리고 특히 충격 강도는 상온과 극저온에서 알아보았다. 그 결과로서, 블렌드 시스템에 있어서 표면 자유에너지의 극성 요소는 저온에서 충격 강도를 증가시키는 PU의 함량에 크게 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다.

사이징제에 따른 유리섬유/불포화 폴리에스터 복합재료의 계면 접착력과 기계적 물성 (Influence of Sizing Agent on Interfacial Adhesion and Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber/Unsaturated Polyester Composites)

  • 유리섬유/불포화 폴리에스터 복합재료에서 섬유에 처리된 사이징제가 복합재료의 최종 물성에 미치는 영향을 상온에서의 접촉각 측정을 통해 고찰하였다. 본 연구에서는 폴리비닐알코올, 폴리에스터, 그리고 에폭시계 사이징제를 사용하여 유리섬유의 표면을 처리하였으며 각각의 물성을 비교하였다. 유리섬유의 접촉각은 증류수와 diiodomethane을 젖음액으로 사용하여 Washburn식을 기본으로 한 wicking법으로 측정하였다. 결과적으로 접촉각 측정에 의해 구한 표면자유에너지는 에폭시계 사이징제로 치리된 유리섬유에서 최대값을 나타내었다. 복합재료의 층간 전단 강도 (ILSS)와 파괴 인성 ( $K_{IC}$ )의 측정 결과로부터 사이징제의 처리에 따라 계면 결합력이 증진되며 결과적으로 복합재료의 기계적 강도가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 복합재료에서 유리섬유의 표면 자유에너지 증가에 기인한다고 사료된다.

유효성분 동작형 누전차단기(Igc Free ELB)의 원리 및 동작 특성 해석 (Analysis of the Principle and Operation Characteristics of an (Igc-Free ELB) Operated by an Active Component)

  • This study compares the criteria of earth leakage breakers (ELB) and analyzes the characteristics of an Igc-free ELB operated by an active component which is not misoperated by capacitive current. Even for the same ELB, the earth leakage current flowing through the human body is estimated to be differ greatly depending on the power source, voltage, location and status of contact, contact time duration, etc. Earth leakage breakers are classified based on the rated voltage, rated sensing current, rated operating time etc. Mounting and demounting of the existing equipment can be performed easily since an $I_{gc}$-free ELB is manufactured with the same structure as a conventional ELB. The rated operating current of a conventional and an $I_{gc}$-free ELB is 30mA, the sensing current is 25mA and the rated non-operating current is 15mA. In the analysis of non-operating current characteristics, the rated non-operating current of 15mA was satisfied up to a 20mA charging current in the conventional ELB, but does not satisfy the rated non-operating current as it operates when the resistive leakage current is lower than 15mA for a charging current exceeding 20mA. Also, the ELB is misoperated without a resistive leakage current when the charging current exceeded 25mA. However, the newly developed $I_{gc}$-free ELB satisfied the rated non-operating current even when the charging current was 60mA. Also, in comparison to the interrupting characteristics, it was confirmed that the charging current satisfying the rated non-operating current of the $I_{gc}$-free ELB was three times higher than that of the conventional ELB.

접합유리와 쾌삭강간의 Wetting 현상 (Wetting Phenomena between Sealing Glass and Free Cutting Steel)

  • The effect of the several variables on wetting of AISIB1113 steel by molten glass was studied by Sessible-drop method. Experimental variables were temperature, firing atmospheres, Fe2O3 addition to the sealing glass and steel surface conditions. The degree of wetting in terms of contact angles between molten glass and metal tested at different test conditions was analyzed by using Young's equation. The results showed that contact angles in H2 atmosphere in the glass metal systems were high but in N2 atmosphere, were small for studied glass metal systems. Especially, when the glass drop was in contact with oxidized steel in N2 atmosphere, The best adherence with contact angle of approximately 9°was obtained. In the case of Fe2O3 addition in glass contact angles subtantially increased due to the increase of surface tension of glass. Wetting phenomena were also discussed under the basis of these experimental results.

On the Contact of Partial Rotor Rub with Experimental Observations

  • Partial rotor rub occurs when an obstacle on the stator of a rotating machinery disturbs the free whirling motion of the rotor, which is more common than full annular rub among the cases of rubbing in rotating machinery. The intermittent contacts and friction during partial rotor rub makes the phenomenon complex. The several nonlinear phenomena of superharmonics, subharmonics, and jump phenomenon are demonstrated for the partial rub using an experimental apparatus in this study. The orbit patterns are also measured experimentally. In order to explain the phenomena of partial rotor rub, the analytical model for the contact between the rotor and stator should be chosen carefully. In this respect, a piecewise-linear model and a rebound model using the coefficient of restitution are investigated on the basis of the experimental observations. Also, Numerical simulations for the two models of contact are done for the various system parameters of clearance, contact stiffness, and friction coefficient. The results show that the piecewise-linear model for partial rotor rub is more plausible to explain the experimental observgations.

A piecewise-linear model and a rebound model using the coefficient of restitution are investigated on the basis of experimental observations in order to adopt as an analytical model of the contact between the rotor and stator during whirling motion. The contact stiffness, coefficient of restitution, and friction coefficient for the contact during partial rub are calculated from the comparison between the numerical simulation and the experimental results. Also, the numerical simulations for the model of partial rub are done for the various system parameters of clearance, contact stiffness, and friction coefficient in order to find the nonlinear behavior of partial rotor rub.

박판 궤도륜 볼베어링의 특성해석 및 피로수명 평가 (Analysis and Fatigue Life Evaluation of the Ball Bearing with Thin-Section Raceways)

  • The ball bearing with thin-section raceways which is much lighter than other conventional bearings used in most modem passenger cars and small tracks. The important design parameters of this bearing is the groove radius of raceways, the diametral clearance, the free contact angle and so on. The optimal value of these parameters were determined by considering the dynamic load capacity, the contact angle and the calculated fatigue life. The contact angle between a ball and raceways was calculated by considering the local contact deformation and the structural deformation of thin-section raceways which was estimated by FEM. The raceways were made by means of the press-forming process. The fatigue life tester was designed and manufactured. The fatigue life test was executed and the reliability of this bearing was confirmed.

  • The new principle to measure a sizing degree by a contact angle was developed using an automatic determination of the 3-end point coordinates of the water droplet on a sheet, which could diminish the operator's bias during measurement. A constant amount of water was first placed on a sample sheet by a water dispenser, and then an image of the liquid droplet was captured by a digital camera and then transmitted to a computer. The program measuring for contact angle extracted a liquid contour by Gaussian function combined with a 8-direction chain code. The Euclidean equation was applied to the binary image of the liquid contour in order to measure the diameter of the contour. Finally, the contact angle of the liquid was calculated by using the diameter and the top coordinates. In addition, a surface free energy of the sample sheet and an elapsed time taken up to the complete absorption into the sheet were simultaneously measured with the contact angle.
