비접촉 선형 구동기를 위한 구동 알고리즘 (Driving Algorithm for Contact-free Linear Actuator)

  • Recently in the field of precision positioning device, the contact-free actuators are gaining focuses with their outstanding performances by eliminating mechanical frictions. Th is paper is about the driving algorithm for contact-free linear actuator. The proposed driving algorithm has similar structure of drives of switched reluctance motor and reduces the normal forces and force ripple. The simulation and experiment are executed to verify the proposed method.

Finite Element Analysis of Electrical Double Layers near Triple Contact Lines

  • To assess the electrostatic interaction of surfaces at the triple contact line, the electrostatic field is analyzed by using the finite element method. The Helmholtz free energy is used as a functional which should be minimized under an equilibrium condition. The numerical results are compared with the nonlinear analytical solution for a two-dimensional charged interface and linear solution for a wedge shaped geometry, which shows fairly good agreement. The method is applied to the analysis of electrostatic influence on the contact angle on a charged substrate. The excess free energy found to increase drastically as the contact angle approaches to zero. This excess free energy Plays an opposite role to the Primary electrocapillary effect, as the contact angle gets smaller. This enables an alternative explanation for the contact-angle saturation phenomenon occurring in electrical control of surface tension and contact angle.

머신 러닝을 통한 단백질의 자유 에너지 예측

  • Protein contact map은 단백질 삼차구조에 대한 정보를 이차원의 이미지로 표현하는 방법의 하나로, 비교적 간략하지만 단백질 구조에 대한 핵심적 정보를 함축하고 있다. 이러한 단백질 구조를 바탕으로 단백질의 internal energy, solvation free energy, free energy 와 같은 열역학 함수를 도출할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이미지 인식에 대한 머신러닝 기법을 사용하여 단백질 구조를 함축하는 단백질의 contact map으로부터 단백질의 열역학적 함수를 예측하는 연구를 진행하였다. 단백질의 main-chain 간의 contact map, side-chain 간의 contact map, main-chain과 side-chain 간의 contact map 들로부터 단백질의 여러 가지 열역학적 함수를 예측하고자 했으며 최종적으로 Convolution Neural Network (CNN) 기법을 사용하여 단백질의 free energy를 ~18 kcal/mol의 범위에서 예측 가능함을 보였다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 단백질의 contact map과 열역학 함수 사이의 상관관계가 있으며, 머신러닝 기법을 사용하여 단백질 contact map으로부터 열역학적 함수를 예측하는 것이 가능함을 보였다.

  • 대기압 플라즈마를 이용하여 폴리프로필렌 필름의 표면을 처리한 후 각각 극성 용매(water)와 비극성 용매(diiodomethane)를 사용한 접촉각 측정기로 필름 표면의 접촉각을 측정하였다. 측정된 접촉각을 이용해 표면 자유에너지 변화를 계산한 후 대기압 플라즈마 처리 전후의 폴리프로필렌 필름의 접촉각과 표면 자유에너지 상태를 비교, 분석하였다. 또한 대기압 플라즈마의 처리 조건을 바꿔가며 폴리프로필렌 필름 표면을 처리함으로써 접촉각과 표면 자유에너지가 각각의 처리 조건에 따라 어떠한 영향을 받는지 연구하였다. 대기압 플라즈마 처리 조건에 따라 접촉각 및 표면 자유에너지는 최적값을 보여주거나 일정한 값에 도달하는 경향을 보여 주었다.

  • As the micro-technologies in the high precision manufacturing processes are developed, the demand for micro actuating device is increasing. But, it is difficult to achieve high resolution and wide operating range simultaneously with the conventional actuating systems which are contacting and type of dual servo system. So, the contact-free surface actuators whose movers are suspended or levitated were proposed. These systems can be applied to high precision stages and alignment apparatuses. The suspended mover can be assumed to be rigid body, but the mover is a structure in this study, therefore the vibration caused during the operating process has a serious adverse effect on the performance and it is very important to identify the vibrational characteristics. In this paper, a contact-free surface actuator is modeled in finite element method and updated by using the experimental modal data. Finally, the static and dynamic characteristics of the finite element model are predicted and then discussed.

This paper presents the driving algorithm for contact-free linear stage based on switched reluctance principle. The proposed driving algorithm has a similar structure of that of switched reluctance motor but this study has its own originality in terms of reducing the normal farces and force ripple at the same time. The simulation and experiment are executed to verify the proposed algorithm.

성형공정의 자유 경계면 접촉에 관한 유한요소 해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Forming Processes With Free Surface Contact Algorithm)

  • In this study, a contact algorithm for the finite element analysis of free surface contact problem in materials forming is presented. The proposed contact algorithm consists of two parts. The first is the contact searching part, and the second, the constraint part. The contact searching algorithm does not require any a priori knowledge of the pairs of contact nodes or segments and the impenetrability constraint is satisfied using the penalty function scheme. void colsure in open-die forging was simulated to verify the accuracy and capability of the currently developed contact algorithm. The simulation results, obtained from ABAQUS simulation, were compared well to the experimental data available in the literature.

인공 고관절 골두용 세라믹 복합재료에 대한 세라믹-세라믹 접촉 마멸 특성 분석 (Ceramic-Ceramic Wear of Zirconia/Alumina Composites for the Application of Total Hip Replacement)

  • The sliding wear behaviors of three different compositions of novel low temperature degradation-free zirconia/alumina (LTD-free Z/A) composites were examined in a ceramic-ceramic contact pair. The wear tests were performed by using a pin-on-disk type wear tester in a linear reciprocal sliding motion with a line contact in both dry and bovine serum lubricated conditions at room temperature. From the results of dry sliding wear tests, Z/A#1((5.3Y, 4.6Nb)-TZP/80 $vol\%Al_2O_3$) showed the best wear resistance among three kinds of LTD-free Z/A composites. For the bovine serum lubricated sliding wear tests, wear was too little to be measured for all kinds of Z/A composites. These novel LTD-free Z/A composites having excellent wear resistance demonstrated a potential as the alternative materials for the ceramic-ceramic contact pairs of femoral head and acetabular liner in total hip replacement.

  • Free energy based lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been used to simulate the contact angle and the bubble necking with large density ratio. LBM with the proper contact angle model is able to reduce the spurious currents and eliminate the singularity in the contact lines. The numerical results of the contact angles are satisfied with the Youngs law. For bubble necking flows, simulations are executed for various viscosities and contact angles. The phenomena of the bubble necking are simulated successfully and the subsequent results are presented. The present method is also applicable to the nucleate boiling flows.

  • In the development of positioning device for precision manufacturing and measuring, the friction from mechanical contact causes serious decrease of performance. In this study, we studied about variable reluctance type contact-free linear actuator to overcome drawbacks from friction. In the view of electromagnetics, we analyzed and derived theoretical magnetic force equation and designed structure for generating suspension and propulsion force simultaneously. In the view of dynamics, we derived equation of motion and identified the stability of the system. Finally, we verified the feasibility of the proposed system.
