셀프실드아크 용접금속의 확산성수소량에 미치는 용접변수의 영향 (Effects of Welding Parameters on Diffusible Hydrogen Contents in FCAW-S Weld Metal)

  • The effects of the welding parameters, contact tip-to-workpiece distance (CTWD), current, and voltage on the diffusible hydrogen content in weld metal deposited by self-shielded flux cored arc welding were investigated and rationalized by comparing the amount of heat generated in the extension length of the wire. This showed that as CTWD increased from 15mm to 25mm, the amount of heat generated was increased from 71.1J to 174.8J, and the hydrogen content was decreased from 11.3mL/100g to 5.9mL/100 g. Even if little difference was observed in the amount of heat generated, the hydrogen content was increased with an increase in voltage because of the longer arc length. A regression analysis showed that the regression coefficient of voltage in self-shielded flux cored arc welding is greater than that in $CO_2$ arc welding. This implies that voltage control is more important in self-shielded flux cored arc welding than in $CO_2$ arc welding.

  • 현재 조선 산업의 대형 블록제작 용접공정에서 용접용 캐리지(Carriage)를 이용한 반자동 용접 방법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 여기서의 캐리지는 수평 필렛 용접에서 용접 토치를 이송해 주는 장치이지만, 로봇 용접방법처럼 용접선을 추적하는 기능이 없어 곡선용접에는 사용이 불가능하며, 단순히 직선용접에만 사용할 수 있다. 또, 용접선을 추적하는 기능이 없기 때문에 직선용접에서도 용접오류가 자주 발생하여 이를 수정하는데 많은 시간과 비용이 소요되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재 사용하고 있는 캐리지에 스트레인 게이지를 이용한 용접선 추적 센서와 80C196KC 마이크로컨트롤러를 추가 설치하여 직선 및 곡선용접에서 용접선을 자동으로 추적할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하여 사선 모형 및 컨테이너 박스 모형 용접선을 제작하여 추적현상에 대해 고찰하여 보았다.

필렛 용접부의 비접촉 초음파 검사 기법 (Non-contact Ultrasonic Inspection Technology of Fillet Weldments)

  • The non-destructive Inspection of the fillet weldment has difficulties due to its geometrical complexity and uneasy access. The surface shear horizontal wave (SH-wave), however, has been successfully applied to the detection of cracks on the surface and sub-surface of the filet weldment heel part. The conventional ultrasonic inspection using the surface SH-wave is usually a contact method using piezoelectric transducer. Thus, it is not suitable for a field application because the reliability and repeatability of inspection are significantly affected by test conditions such as couplant, contact pressure and pre-process. In order to overcome this problem, a non-contact SH-wave inspection method using EMAT is propose. The experimental results with this non-contact method are compared with those with a conventional ultrasonic method in fillet weldment with slit type defects. It is shown that the non-contact inspection technique requires simple procedure and less time in the fillet weldment inspection.

압축잔류응력장을 전파하는 피로균열의 개구거동의 유한요소법을 이용한 해석적 검토 (An Analysis of the Fatigue Crack Opening Behaviour in the Welding Residual Stress Field by the Finite Element Method)

  • The finite element analysis was performed for the cracks existing in residual stress fields in order to investigate the effects of configuration of residual stress distribution to the fatigue crack opening behaviour. And the variation of stress distributions adjacent to the crack caused by uploading was examined. The finite element model with contact elements for the crack plane and plane stress elements for the base material and the analytical method based on the superposition principle to estimate crack opening behaviour and the stress distribution adjacent to the crack subjected to uploading were used. The results of the analysis showed that crack opening behaviors and variations of stress distribution caused by uploading were changed depending on the configuration of residual stress distribution. When the crack existed in the region of compressive residual stress and the configuration of compressive residual stress distribution were inclined, a partial crack opening just behind of a crack tip occurred during uploading. Based on the above results, it was clarified that the crack opening behaviour in the residual stress field could be predicted accurately by the finite element analysis using these analytical method and model.

인텔리전트 피그를 위한 주행거리계의 개발 (Development of the Odometer System for the Intelligent Pig)

  • This paper introduces the spring-mounted odometer system which maintains the correct contact with the pipe wall and measures the distance along the pipe. The odometer wheel is designed to keep contact to the pipelines inner wall and to generate fifty rectangular pulses per one turn(l59.5681mm) during pigging. The pipeline has the defects in various types such as buckles, winkles, cracks, dents, welding point and so on. Specially, girth welding points which exist each 12m of the pipeline, much affects the operational environment of the odometer. The measurement error of the distance along the pipe is accumulated, for the measurement error of wheel's circumference and the pipeline inner environment. So, this paper proposes the method for the error compensation based on the analysis of the odometer's behavior around the girth welding point of pipe. The experimental results show that developed odometer system can be used for the intelligent pig with good performances.

0402칩의 무연솔더링 최적공정 연구 (Research of Optimum Reflow Process Condition for 0402 Electric Parts)

  • Reflow process conditions were investigated for 0402 electric parts with Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu solders. Circle hole shape metal mask with 100 m thickness showed excellent printability. Self alignment abilities were 71% for 1005 chips, 52% for 0603 chips, and 3% for 0402 chips. Average joining strengos were 1990 gf for 1005 chips, 867 gf for 0603 chips, and 525 gf for 0402 chips. As mis-mounting angle increased, joining strength decreased. Considering self-alignment ability, mounting angle had to be under $5^{\circ}$ and contact area of the chips had to be over 40% for Pb-free soldering process for 0402 chips.

  • Most of the mechanical structures use bolting or spot welding for the whole structure. In recent years, bolting & rivets are used rather than the welding due to reassembly and repair. Analysis of bolted joints is so complicate that many conditions must be considered such as pre-load and contact, etc.. Bolted joint analysis is done by theoretical, experimental & numerical methods. However, numerical analysis in the bolted joint is used because the contact and stress in the joints are changed due to the pre-load. In this study, we analysis the slip and the deformation of the contact area in the joint depending on the pre-load and find the optimized bolting condition.

  • In this work, effects of plasma on different hardness of welding steel using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy were investigated. The ratios of ionic to atomic spectrum peaks were related to its material hardness. The major spectrum peak (Fe) and minor spectrum peak (Mn) were considered as monitoring elements. The stronger repulse plasma was generated, the harder material it was. The ratios of ionic to atomic spectrum peaks increased with respect to the material hardness as well. The correlation of minor spectrum peaks was stronger than that of major spectrum peaks. However, the major spectrum peaks indicated a similar trend, which could be used to estimate the hardness, too. Based on this result, the method could be used as a non-contact remote measurement of material properties.

  • Laser bonding between similar and dissimilar thermoplastics has been investigated by making use of laser transmission weld technique. Spot welding of two layers of plastic materials has been demonstrated by using of a high-quality diode-laser with 808nm wavelength. Weld areas increases according to power density, exposure time. The results of peel out test show that peel strengths increase with the area of molten plastics. Layers, which have the same chemical properties, have good bonding qualities. A bonding method which dye film is coated on the interface is used for laser bonding between plastics with high transmission for laser wavelength. Laser transmission bonding is worthy of attention because it is not in contact, requires a few tooling devices, allows a flexible energy delivery and produces nearly invisible welds

마이크로 프로세서를 이용한 용접전력 측정에 관한 연구 (Microprocessor based welding power meter)

  • Arc power is consumed energy per unit time between welding electrodes. The relations between consumed energy and electrode distance, current, voltage are nonlinear characteristics. Therefore commercial A.C. wattmeter cannot be used for measurement of the arc power. Most of arc energy measuring systems are developed for relay contact arc measurement. Relaly arc requires integrated instantaneous power because relay arc finishes in a short instant. But most of welding powers are continually consumed powers, therefore instantaneous power must be continually indicated in the form of averagy value. The author propose a new measurement method of power in which the current and voltage of welding electrode is multiplied and the resultant signal is passed to low pass filter in order to remove higher order frequency components. After integrating, the signal is devided by the integral interval and the results are stored in a computer memory.
